totally you cant blame legends or a born genius.
OF COURSE you *CAN* blame a bradman, a pele, a ali, any other genius, if he hasn't realized that he has already lost the "magic touch" and still plays, and *claims* that he is still the master of the universe. One who knoweth not that he still hath not, is a fool. You can only pity for him.

after hearing all the songs!....
this is what I feel.
1.Saranam : sounded like Yemen Kalyani --Ok.
2.Malaiyil : Unni/Arul Mozi/.....Sounds like Hamsaddwani.... Trying hard.
3. nenachi .... total waste. --- Sounds like Hawa Hawa. Keyboards for counter point totally sucks.
4.enge selum in padai ---- typical raja stuff, bgm is some what good, but still it is just another one from Raja. Sounds like keeravani. --- Usual soga number...
5. chicaga situ : Old stuff, reminds old raja songs. Chorus stuffs... frankly why cant they use some good words. sounds like tamrai pooviku etc etc song.
6.Kadal enna : Pallavi has a very nice tune....lyrics is also catchy!.....happa enga pa ponar!....intha feel than required, raja peeps out!....at last. Gutiar whamps are totally rajaish. But the saranam drags, somewhat Swarna sings in a hurry. . Reminds me the old song Poova parandhu pogam pathu poochi aka...Ok of the lot
7. Varathai : Raja sings again, mmm...slow tempo....so so.
8. Anna sethu : Vetuku vetuku vasapadi venum....raja should come out of this crap.
9. Kana krukuyeele : mmm. The chorus that comes in oyilalo (Guna) and margazi (Thalapathi) is repeated.
Can be used for manvasanai etc…etc… argument here, that’s it.
Total use of keyboards, why?
I don’t know when others used keyB thier creativity were questioned, Now this applies to raja.
He had 9 tracks, had a great scope but wasted it totally.
He disappointments me, might need to think a lot to get the CD.

thaths oru kezhvi,
To buy a $10 CD we think in every other way.
Producers spending tons of money would have a think thrice (atleast while thinking about the money) while choosing a "pazhasu aiyitta MD" and "pudusu MD" (terms framed by you). So namba yaru thaths, adha partri pesi kavalai pada.

here is the news in rediff
The news of the week in trade circles was the deal between financier Bharat Shah and Universal Music Company. Bharat Shah, whose closeness to and stake in Venus music company, is well-known, shocked the trade when he struck a deal for the music rights of three films presented by him to Universal. Among the films whose music will be released by Universal are Kamal Haasan’s He Ram, Abbas-Mustan’s Chori Chori Chupke Chupke and Ramgopal Varma’s Jungle.

Tit bits from today's review in Hindu.
'Sethu''
AN AWARD winning performance by Vikram, a clear storyline, taut screenplay, powerful dialogues, crisp direction, superb background score - ``Sethu'' offers all these and much more.
For many who have been yearning for a quality film in Tamil ``Sethu'' has come as a panacea.
....`Vaarthai Thavari Vittai'' in the background adds to the effect. There is humour, levity,
song and dance too.
....So is Ilaiyaraja's re-recording. ``Malai En
Vedhanai'' sung by Unni Krishnan is one of the best numbers of the film.

Sethu!
What a Movie ! The story track and the BGM go together very well. The movie is going to be certainly a hit. Raaja is the backbone to the
movie. His name comes first in the title . If you have a chance to see this movie dont miss it . Its not a art film its a commercial movie with a
different storyline. The expressions of Vikram have been rightly understood by Raaja and he has scored an APT music. His scores in the
climax match the international standards. The director Bala who is a debutant has utilized Raajas capabilities very well . The story and the
camera added with the music makes U feel every frame. I am eagerly awaiting to hear theBGM track once again.

Some people here are tend to compare Raja with ARR. I just cant believe or understand this!
How could you compare a legend or a maestro to a new entry?
See, even before completing his 50 th film ARR 's tunes are being repeated by him. I accept that he is a good composer and a sound engineer but he can't even think of coming close to Raja.
If you want to compare him with raja then wait for atleast another 15 years. let him finish some 200 films.let him survive till then. Let him show his ability to produce no of tunes. Etc..
Some one have said, "But is ARR TODAY better than Raja TODAY " !!!!!! what a foolish statements is this? What you mean by this?
Let Sir Don Bradman and Tendulkar to play against Donald today. I doubt whether Don can score a single run. I am sure then you will say "Tendulkar today is better than Don today"!!!!!
( people will laugh at you.)
Raja already finished making "Aattu kallu"(I am just using the same word Raja once used to explain this) in different types ,different styles, different tastes
to the extent that can not be done by anyone. He made histories in that. He is the one who set the "milestone"s! Don't do the foolish things of comparing him with some one who is trying to "touch"those milestones. It is utter foolish to expect fire in his belly to make more "Aattu kallu"s every day. There is a lot of people around here like ARR ,SA Rajkumar or Deva to make them. Now itself these people cant make original tunes. While Deva copying from old composing of Raja or MSV ,S.A Rajkumar trying with hindi tunes and the "intelligent" ARR copying from those you cant catch! (for example that stylish humming before the famous "Tillana Tillana" in Muthu is copied from the film "The island of Dr.Mozeru"starring Marlon Brando and Valkilmer)
Don't think I am under rating ARR. After Raja he is the only one who is having some real stuff to produce good songs and I always love to hear his songs.
So, you are having lot to make "aattu kallu" but only one to make "Sculpture". Ask him to make more sculptures. Please don't expect "ultra modern aattu kallus" from him.
Some one says about "palayana kalithal"!! i dont know about others! but i will not say "my mother is looking old" when i have a"fresh wife".You can have 1000 wives but only one mother.right?
