Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....
Also; use this thread to discuss this album..
Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

And as such the whole cinema industry is driven by perversion. We have ofcourse put up with a married KamalHassan going to a pros, but cant bear with a bunch of unmarried guys over 18 going. Because thats spoiling the college going community. As if the college/school kids are looking upto movies for guidance.
We have seen Silk Smitha doing all the moaning even while acting in a mass entertainer like Sakalakala Vallavan. Even the scenes were gross there whereas here atleast they stop with the moaning.
We have seen Tops spinning, Honey, Grapes, Water everything on you know where of the female anatomy. And these werent in Shakeela movies but in movies that were family entertainers. Now, all those things are acceptable.
You can go behind a bush and shake it for a complete minute, come out wiping your lips, but cannot shake a bed in front. Cos thats going to spoil the youth.
Forget Boys, these days you cannot watch most movies (I say most)with ur parents/sis. Most of them atleast have some footage that puts you in an embarrasing situation. and if the parents with their pattalam, its their mistake and they cannot transfer the blame on Shankar/Sujatha.
Remember the movies in 80s and early 90s where Silk, Jayamalini and Anuradha routinely figured in each and every family movie. Now if kids can sit and watch such movies with their parents, why the hue and cry abt Boys.

i agree with bj...
u tamilans are forever with this stupid issue on woman degrading..when u guys can watch porn movies, english movies with explicit sex scenes...you will enjoy it !! but when it comes to tamil movie, especially BOYS..thats it! u guys will start to talk bout woman degrading...
WHAT NONSENSE IS THIS !!
I've watch Boys, and i feel there is nothing wrong with those scenes..ITS HAPPENING AT OUTSIDE WORLD EVERYWHERE!! Talk bout prostitution..for sure many of you have go there and did "THAT"...
In Boys, shankar has shown that the young teenagers realised that is wrong to do "THAT" with a prostitute..They also felt guilty to do it.. DOESN'T IT SHOW THAT THE TEENAGERS HAVE BRAIN TO THINK!! not like some older man..waiting for chance to hire a prostitute or raping someone..
there are a lot of rape scenes in many tamil movie..but y people still watch those movie??
please answer me..
i'm beginning to get fed-up with u tamil people..no sense of logic thinking!!
i'm ashamed to call myself a tamilan when i see this kind of good thread being spoilt by unnecessary bad mouthing and bad language!!
WHAT IF other race people view this thread??
just imagine, there would be people who does research on indian music..and they would discover this TFM Page..and getting suprised for see all the badmouthing u people are doing now...
u know what would they think -> whats wrong with indian people!!
so u people...if u want to argue, do it in a healthy way..OK!!!!!!!!!

"Forgetting that Thulluvatho..., despite its embarrassing moments (for which it was awarded an A certificate), was a sensitively crafted film, with a realistic depiction of adolescent growing up, backed by a well thought out script. "
This is the best joke of the year. TI - Sensitively crafted film ? oh my god. Atleast you have a bunch of college kids(def over 18) doing stuff here. There, it was school kids doing all the damage and the girl too being a part there. TI had embarrasing moments (not sure for whom, when and in what context it was embarrassing), and was given an 'A'. Boys is no different. The reviewer definitely has some bias. For god's sake, dont even compare TI and boys.

"Forgetting that Thulluvatho..., despite its embarrassing moments (for which it was awarded an A certificate), was a sensitively crafted film, with a realistic depiction of adolescent growing up, backed by a well thought out script"
MY FOOT ...read that..loud and...
1) in TI...one of the kid walks nude in classroom - SENSITIVELY CRAFTED?
2) bunch of school kids sharing some cash to get to prostitute..and an adult comes...find's out he are short..and so he chips in some money..so they can pay a "visit" - SENSITIVELY CRAFTED?
3) 2 people..a guy and a girl - long terms friends...having sex in a camp..SENSITVELY CRAFTED?
4) and finally they had sex...and what happen at the end..nothing...so losing virginity is fine?...SENSITIVELY CRAFTED?
well in BOYS...
1) A guy and a girl ..friends (or so)..fall in love..and got MARRIED >.....VULGAR? (since when)
2) Guys hired a prostitute..but realised wrong...but just gave an impression as they "did"...(and u know that was only an impression by the characters)....is VULGAR? (yea rite)
3) They look down on blouse?....as i know...only GAYS, Saints or Innocent will avoid that part in his life ....VULGAR (may be it should be spelled as FACT)
and finally SEX is a FACT...any guy or girl will want to find out abt sex...
that is why..Indians don't give sex education..and so havign their daugthers being raped..and get pregnant at school going age..
vareeva.....kya bathe hei...

bj and paran
Nethi Adi!
bj your reference to Silk Smitha's moaning was too good!! How many people lapped it up saying "Paaru daa Silukku"?
We are all hypocrites!!! Real B*stards us tamilians.
BeN dont worry , nobody will bother to look into our bullsshit, crass, crude, hypocritic, tamil cinema as long as we have this mentality.
First let India look at us and then let us talk abt other races looking at us!!
We are all (us tamilians) so much full of sshit! Bone headed hyocritic B*astards of the first order!

In english films.. those scenes remain for few seconds and other scene start.
But here the director is keen in keeping the feeling for a long time..(just the five boys' 'purudaa' in the pros. scene.). This is what happening in most of the movies here.
Films like "Sedhu" "Azhagi","kadhalukku mariyaadhai" only make some difference and pride of our tamil industry.Certainly not kuppais like "Boyz" or "Indhu".

""In english films.. those scenes remain for few seconds and other scene start.""
hey JK...r u lost or what?? those scenes for few seconds?? in an english fim?? heheheheheheheh......
you really made me laugh :-)
not only "Sethu" "Azhagi","Kadhalukku Mariyaadhai",
even there are other good films like Kannathil Muthamithal, Anthimantharai, Iruvar (brilliant screenplay and Mohanlal- Prakashraj's acting)
All these movies are different and yet brilliant..
But why those movies bombed at box-office?
Why stupid movies like Dhool, Saami, Dum are chartbusters??
Because tamilans only accept crap stuffs.. not realistic stuffs..
grow up u people - thats all i can say...

Kadhalukku Mariyadhai makes a difference?
Apart from the unusual story, it offered nothing!
Same love concept bullsshit! Th eending was even more starking and meaningless! Agreed the film made the buck but It was ridiculous you had to join this movie with Sethu and Azhagi which were class!
But again Shankar made this to be a commercial teenage crowd puller. He has said this so many times!
Hmmm Watch American BEauty and pls count the no of seconds the objectionable scenes run
I can think of many right now, angela undressing, carolyn having sex, angela seducing, col. fitts gay intentions.
This movie won the Oscar for best film only becos rubbish filthy morons like us are not plenty in America (by %age) and fortunately none gives a damn abt us (especially us tamilians).
Like I said before tamil films cannot be saved. Atleast Hindi cinema is improving! Take Company for example!

In Thulluvadho Ilamai, there is a scene where the hero watch his parents doing sex........
Isn't that embarrasing?
U guys r telling Boys can't be watched with family and movies like Kadhal kondaen can be watched with family. Can a father and his 12 year old daughter watch the flash back of the kadhal kondaen movie with out any embarrasment?
Isn't that Kadhalkondaen flashback scene vulgar?
And some guys telling that the story line of Boys is nothing new...
1) Kadhal Kondaen (Sigappu Rojakkal + lil bit Aboorva sagodharargal + Guna) Anything New in the Story line?
2) Jayam - Is it a New story line?
3) Kaaka Kaaka (An expanded version of "Breaking Point" scene in Kuruthi punal)
Though it has some resemblence with TI almost 50% of the Boys movie completed even b4 the release of Thulluvadho Ilamai. So Stop comparing it.
If Boys is directed by Selvaraghavan and the same music is scored by YSR or HJ, then the ppl like rajasaranam, MusicIsLife and etc etc.... will say "What a fantastic movie boys is.... and YSR has gone really international with his wonderful music score in boys" like that.
I'm really shocked to see such a cheap review from webulagam, maybe the reviewer watched the film with his family. And also in Cinesouth review, though they gave some balanced review, they just said "Girl Friend song is the Song Of This Year" in one line. Thatz all they've mentioned abt the music in a musical entertainer.
There are lot of comments like "I didn't expect this from shankar". Why r u putting shankar into a circle, like Director Vikraman(who'll give only same type family movies).
>> Boys movie can't be watched with family.
Now a days who's watching film with their family in theatres. Families are watching movies in Thiruttu VCD bcoz women are already sinked into TV Serials.
>> Shankar can't make super hit film without sex related scenes.
Can Selvaragavan make a super hit film without sex related scenes and "Theenda heenda", "Manasu Rendum Parka" type of songs?
