  this was not the link from which we read it as 3Lakhs.. u think we are IR-fans to think in only one direction and one-way.... we have lot of other links to prove the 3lakh figure(ur dad will count the sales in Malaysia and other foreign countries??? and wat abt the Cd's dude?? i.5 lakh is figure for cassetes only.... this shows how dumb u r).. but y do u care abt.   Whatever number of units Boys sold, it is the largest selling album in the last 2 years and has revived lost fortunes in the music industry.

  the statement that says "Best selling album in 2 years".....doesn't capture ur eye...but u r arguing 1.5 lakhs and 3 lakhs difference...

  1.5 lakhs is for first 20 days?.....isn't it been 40 days now?.....so times 2 lah mangga...and then....plus UK, Canada, US, Malaysia, Singapore market u will get 1.5 Billion Units pothuma...
  so what...u gonna give another Maths lesson to prove that it can't reach that unit (may be it is...but i am pulling ur leg..in case u wonder where the no. came from)...
  
  say whatever u want....our ARR ..with only 50 - 75 movies...sold more units than Britney + Maddonna put together...which cant be achieved with 500 movies, and 4500 songs...and 25 years in TFM....

  obviously if ARR stops giving music y shuld i talk abt. him... he is just a MD whom i like and not my MAAMA or MACHHAN..... we are fans and not fanatics...

  I got bored explaining with brainless people again and again.Once again I want to remind them. ARR achieved many, good. But with IR he is nowhere.
  
  I remember during IR time producer will first wait to get call sheet from MD. Paralally director also will do same.Finally they will put some actor.
  
  Now you see the produced and the director joining together begging for the date from vikram,vijay,ajith,etc.. even that jimbu. At last it comes in their mind about MD.
  
  Before IR there were MD's like msv,KVM etc.. Then IR entered. he maintened the same and added to that MD top in making film.
  
  Then ARR came with new trend by mixing western, composed several years.He flopped even rajini movie.He made rajini wait a lot and finally send worthless tunes by telephone!!!. Finally rajini gave money back to the distributer from his poicket.Then all the producer and director realised MD is worthless for the movie but morons like vijay,jimbu etc..
  
  But I remind you dont compare present IR with ARR. During ARR time only MD's value gone down.

  i dont know based on what you say that MD value has gone down. consider these examples. ARR accepts do compose music for mudhalvan and the very next day shankar is able to sell the music rights of muthalval for 4 crores. thats is just for a "yes" from ARR. subash ghai sat in ARR's waiting room for 2 days to meet him. many of ARR's movies posters had ARR in the center (a large photo) with hero and others' having smaller pics. leave all that, tell me one MD who had a 50 foot cutout outside the theater next to that of the hero. if you dont know which movie, ask me, i will tell you in the next post. if anything importance of MD has increased after ARR.

  I think for Karagattakaran IR had bigger cutouts than the star cast! In fact in some of the trailers I have seen music sittings with IR as the prominent feature of the movie. For eg. the telugu movie Prema's trailer shows Ramanaidu coming to IR for music. The translation reads "Laya raaja Ilaiyaraja! the man who plays with sa ri ga ma s"

  Karakattakaran itself was a big publicity and promotion for IR by Gangai Amaran. No wonder it had huger cut-outs.
  
  ANyway I feel the whole thing as silly. Now we are discussing who had bigger cut-outs?? As I have al;ready mentioned before other technical areas in Tamil Cinema have improved greatly in the recent times and it is very natural for MD to be overlooked. However to say that only because of ARR Tamil cinema has started losing importance to MD and other areas are improving as a result is pure rubbish and deserves no follow-up.
  
  I am glad to see this trend because Tamil cinema would be noticed more in the north and also worldwide. After all I am not a typical IR fan just sitting satisfied in my own Tamil Naadu and blowing my trumpet among Tamilians. I want my Tamil cinema to get all india recognition and also worldwide recognition which is most important!
  
  Kannathil Muthamittal is a sure-fire start! Congrats to Mani. Let us hope more movies win overseas.

  Sure.. and not everyone is a typical ARR fan to blow their trumpets in their own fool's paradise! Do you want Tamil cinema to get recognition or Tamil culture to get recognition?
