TMS&P.SUSEELA VS SPB&S.JANAKI

I certainly think and feel that TMS& P.SUSEELA,jodi which really dominated the tamil film music in the 60"s and 70"s is the BEST duet pair we ever had.Even IR"S favourite SPB,S.JANAKI jodi is no where near to them.

  Even today, TMS-PS songs are attractive not only because of their voices, but because of lyrics also. SPB-SJ may also be good, but today, how many remember the songs of SPB-SJ?

  i heard nenginilae yesterday....
  
  if u ask somebody who does't know s.janaki --they will tell this must be sung by 25 years old female.
  
  she is in her 60s--can anyone tell her voice is also reached 60s---no it is still 25....

  Mr Nagarajan I thing you are sleepy may be, becoz you said who remember the songs of spb and sj? I am from Karnataka and I dont know tamil, but I do remember all most all songs of spb and sj. Even I do have almost all the songs of them with me. Unfortunately I dont heard of ps and tms's single duet. I doesn't mean I dont want to hear that songs but I dont get anywhere. But last month I got one new sp and sj's duet collection "Enna Porutham". So you should reverse the sentence. I am not commenting ps and tms becoz I dont know anything, but I know every songs and I love every songs of sp and sj. I love that golden pair very much.(Oh vasantharaja...my all time fav)

  TMS speaks saurashtra and he is not a tamilian , but his pronounciation is too good and no body can beat him in that have you heard this song "Thillai ambala nataraja" , if that song is given to present day singers that will real massacre of tamil. but why TMS is not looked upon like MSV is becos of he speak without thinking much , i heard somebody saying that he said the MGR songs were popular just becos of him and not becos of MGR konjam thalai ganam adigam and he is very proud of himself .
  
  Neerodum vaigaiyile song is enough to prove the fact that TMS - PS is the best combination , i dont think SPB - SJ can give anything better than that

  " kannukku mai azhahu" -PS voice is much better than "Nenjinile" SJ. Anyone can say " kannukku mai" was sang by 66 years old lady. Voice is so young. One more is from Indian "kappaleri poyachu". " vanna maan, vanji maan neer kolam" How sweet that voice is? Even in Susheela-50 she sang " Iyarkai ennum" with SPB. Any change in her voice?

  I feel the pronunciation of Tamil by SPB is second to none. SPBs voice is a combination of Masculine, romantic, sweet, melody and more than anything STYLE. I do not think we are going to see any other singer like him for ever.
  
  TMS voice in the beginning was good but in later years the voice is not that good.
  
  KJJ voice has melody but hardly any style.
  
  Any of the present day singers are nowhere near SPB.
  
  The best ones I feel are SPB-PS, SPB-SJ and SPB-VJ in that order. .
  
  It is sad the Tamil film industry has not given PS the place she deserves. She is THE BEST singer in India in her days.

  Your remarks about the greatest SPB are indeed very remarkable, it is very sad that we hardly hear SPB nowdays, at 55, he sounds like a 25 year old youth!!!
  
  What about the following SPB & SJ combinations
  
  1) Malare mounama- superb
  2) Sundgari Kannal oru seithi - awesome
  3) Shankaraparanam songs
  4) vaighai nathi oraam pon mazhai neeram, from a sathyaraj film.

  1) Ore naal unai naan nilavil parthathu
  2) Anbu meghame ingu odi vaa
  3) avanukku thaan theriyum oro arampamum athan
  4) Shankaraparanam
  
  SPB & PS
  
  1) EN KANMANI illa manghani
  2) kathodu poovurasa, poova naan orasu

  TMS-PS songs
  
  1. Amaithiyana nathiyinile odam ( Aandavan kattalai) is one of the wonderful duet. Anyone else can bring that effect.
  2. Aahaya panthalile ponnoonjal aaduthamma - (ponnonjal) - enna oru ilamaiyana song.
  3. mayakkamenna intha mounam enna - vasantha maaligai - can anyone forget this song?
  4.vaazha ninaithaal vaazhalam - ( bhale pandiya ) A song which gives hope.
  5. ponnezhil poothathu puthu vaanil (kalankarai vilakkam ) TMS sivakami entu pada PS oru humming koduppar paarungal - so nice.
  6. vanakkam pala murai sonnen ( mel naatu marumagal) - namma panpaadu enna enpathu pattia pattu. " annai thaipaalai pillaikku koduthu" entu paadum pothu kuralil enna oru ganniam!!
  Any of these songs can be imagined by any other singers. TMS-PS the perfectionists.
  
  In "vellai roja" there is a song "O! maane maane"
  In kalkandu weekly in that movies review " enna , janaki ippadi kathavidukkil chikkiya eli maathiri kathukirar" entu ezhthi irunthaargal.
  "The song " ilankiliye innum vilangaliye from sankarlal " was very badly pronounced by SJ. Avar athai eppadi ucharikkirar ente theriyavillai.
  " In Paayum puli "aadi maasa kaathadikka" song also very badly pronounced and she spoiled that song. Like this many.
  A other language person also can understand the words because of PS+TMS uchariipu. Even Tamilians requires lyrics in hand to understand few of SJ songs. (SPB is good)

  Just listen to these songs before comparing kizhadugal PS & TMS with these uncomparable, memorable singers. IR/SPB/SJ are the greatest gifts of God to tamil cinema music lovers.

  Between1980 and 1990 most of us had only Two in one tape recorders where every duet of TMS-PS used to sound crystal clear...But in case of SPB-SJ...in most of the songs what SJ used to sing we could not understand what language it was due to her shrill voice....Later wiyh advanced music systems the same songs of later pair sounded better....But still TMS-PS brought out 100% NATIVITY in TFM
  They had immense variety too...One day they sang Ho ho ethani azhagu 20 vayadhinele...Next time itis Atuthathu ambujam....Other occassion it is Javvadhu medaiyettu and then sevappukallu mookuthi Sirikkavandha maan kutti....They take us to heights of melody with Muthukkalo kangal or Pesuvadhu kileya....TMS-PS ...VERY EFFECTIVE TURN ONS even today when you listen to their duets...
  Hai...Medhuva medhuva thodalama...Un meniyele kai padalama....Adi Kannathil ennadi kayam...Idhu Vannakkili Seidha mayam....They are the GREATEST in SOUTH.

  But u have'nt said anything about muthalang kattai and Ettan kattai.Perhaps u could sing that for us and prove they r better than santhana kattai!!!!

  Has Malaysia Vasudevan and Manorama singed any duets (together)?? I bet they could beet everyone else in "involvement", "style", and being the "gits's of god". I think they will have better kattais too!!

  I think People her who Speak About sj are not concerned abt music,pronounciation &clarity ...
  
  If they think abt these then There'll not be any Second thought abt that..
  ie PS+TMS is the Only one Pair which had these..
