i agree SAR is a king of melody...if i don't he'll (not hell) churn out more and more and more and more and more recycles of sivaranjanis. hey! somebody out there can't u purge his recycle bin? atleast let it sound empty.

It is
"Yeh dil Deewaana hai"
"dil to deewaana hai"
"deewaana dil hai ye"
" dil deewaana"
The middle part of that song is the complete replica.

the entire album "Yaar Nee" (MD VEDA) is a lift from Madan Mohan's "woh kaun thi".
This is one of the rare instances where every song from one movie has been copied and pasted into another one :-)
I understand Veda used to often "give music" to films remade in Tamil.
- From: Kupps (@ 156.153.255.134)
on: Fri Feb 8 09:52:16 EST 2002
AVR the film yaar nee itself is a almost "frame to frame" remake of woh kaun thi. but a better acting by jayalalitha than her peer sadhana.
If im not wrong i heard people saying (and read also) that veda use to "import" tunes with the consent of original MDs in hindhi. So, imo this doesn't amount to "Blatent" copy.

Guys,
Don't you think its high time that people like SAR should be atleast informed that there are people like us and some forums like this which dissect his frauds and bring them to light completely.I mean he should'nt be in the dark thinking that people out there are just fools and thats why he is able to give so many hits every year that he always boosts off in all his interviews.
People like Yuhi sethu should invite him to their shows and teach them a lesson. Atleast they have better control over the media right??

Any one seen the movie "BEDAZELED" There is a seen where the guy is in spain , about to fall of from the helicopter, the background that plays at that instance is the the AIyiyayiyoayiyooooooo..............
bit from the jumbalaika song in en swasa katrai. any one noticed. I am kidding, the exact some thing.
but a doubt en swasa katrai came before bedazelled. or is it that humming thing have a spanish origin, or idd arr copy or was it copied of arr??????????????????????????

I have heard it in an old National Geographic program (circa 1994)...i think it is off an old album of the Gypsy Kings..not a loop.

The "Aiyayooo" is just a spanish sound sample. In the film ESK you will hear an extended version of this which means ARR has done his part on this sample base.
Anyway in the ESK cassette cover, a credit has been given to PRavin Mani for this spanish sound sample.
Btw, recently i came to know that "desingu Raja" from DDD is actually lifted from an old ARR song "Onnu Rendu Moonu da" from Pudhiya Mannargal... One more feather in KRs Cap :)

This is a case of reverse plagiarism. Sanjeev Darshan (sons of Shravan of Nadeem-Shravan fame) copied a Tamil song ditto even in their first film Mann (the song 'etho oru paattu' from the movie Unnidathil ennai koduthen, IIRR).
For their score in the Anil Kapoor-Aishwarya Rai starrer Hamara dil aapke paas hai, they've copied a song from Vidayasagar's Uyirodu Uyiraga so blatantly that you feel really sorry for Vidyasagar. The song 'I love you' has been copied exactly in hindi! Even the way the heroine Richa says I love you Ajit in the beginning of the song, in reverse, in tamil and then says it right has been lifted....Sonali Bendre says it to Anil Kapoor in hindi! Rest of the song is copied EXACTLY!
Listen to both of them in...

Another Rahman's song gets copied in a hindi film.
In the movie Pyaar Zindagi Hai there is a song named Dharti Hai Pyari Pyari. Its an exact replica of the song "Kaatre En Vaasal Vandhaai" from Rhythm. The link to the song is
http://www.indiahits.com/music/p/pzh.htm
Why dont the hindi MDs make tunes of their own? When will they stop copying tamil songs?

I dont know if this was mentioned already. The song "ammamma ennennavo kanavu" by Janaki from the movie thaaiveedu (MD = Bappi lahiri) was copied straight from a pop oldie - "Falling in love in summer time is dynamic, it is easy so easy"

Common Friend,
Swara.com lists "Konjum Puraave" under the film Thai Ullam, which was released in 1952 according to http://www.intamm.com/movies/movielist/movielist.htm
Now if somebody can fillup the details for "Thandi hawaayein", we can hopefully arrive at a conclusion.

Guys,
Can someone listen to and clarify this? In one of IR's masterpiece songs, 'aruna kirana' from Guru (Mallu) , from the part 00:50:00 to 1:39:00, the music there seems very similar to the BGM in Thiruda Thiruda ( the constant music that keeps repeating in all chase scenes).
Now, does any one else feel these similarities ?
You can listen to this song here:

Was "ammavum neeye appavum neeye" from kalathoor kanamma inspired from "twameva maata pita twameva" or vice versa?

IMO, "devan thantha veenai" from unnai naan santhithen by IR is a possible case of inspiration from "Re man sur mein ga" from Lal Paththar(sung by Asha/Manna Dey) ...the notes for the opening line are quite close although the tempo and sandham are different, and it is a known fact that IR is a big fan of RDB :-)

yes - thats right. Lal Pathhar also has a great Asha solo "sooni sooni saans ke sitar par". You will find it on MIO under "asha bhosle" section.

I think the song "Kuruvi kadicha goyya palam kondu vandhu tharava" from Azhagi sounds exactly like "Ponna petha appanukkellam demand aiyya demandu" from some old PandiyaRajan movie ( Vaai Kozhuppu i think )

This might sound a little crazy and far-fetched but "Ye thendrale" from Nnenjathai Killathe, the notes for the first 2 lines and the chorus remind me strongly of "Paartha nyabagam illayo" from Pudhiya Paravai..in fact if you tinker slightly with the notes of "paartha nyabagam illayo" you end up with the notes for"ye thendrale"..I agree its a little far-fetched but nevertheless a possibility..
- From: vijay (@ 68.51.203.216)
on: Wed Feb 20 01:32:37 EST 2002
I think I feel that way because of the same singer singing both the songs, and the similarity in scales (atleast for the respective pallavis) more than anything else and both the songs employing a chorus in the prelude :-)
you can fit the pallavi of "ye thendrale" seamlessly after the chorus of "partha gnyabagam ilayo"
