Sam, interesting. but i also found a great similarity in bach's taccato & fugue in d minor to that of vivaldi's four seasons (i think winter of spring)
Karthik, i doubt KR's krishna, krishna song is copied could be inspired, but it is definitely a genius of a composition that can be enjoyed by all music peopuls around the world.
regs Salil's songs, i felt that most of his compositions were best suited for south indian films because they were too rich for hindi filmi style or audience.

ajlg, i used a Listener method and checked out 'she is a lady' source code song. it seems compiled to be object code ' easy lover ' song by phill collins/genesis & a guest singer. but the point is try compiling those two songs together and then you may infact interpret differently. there is a serious problem is your processor and compiler. use an interpreter.

Any idea who composed the music for the Abbas-Simran starrer Poochudava? One of the songs where everybody is in a picnic and sing and dance is copied ditto from Pakistani singer Sajjad Ali's song 'Chal jhooti'!
Was that by Sirpy?

Listen to the sangathi of "sollayo sollaikuyil" from "Ali arjuna" & listen to the sangathi("Marukuma maama manam, madiyile panja varnam) of "Inji idupa azhagi", u will find the similarities.
Another one is from our best Cloning MD deva, the song is "kattipudu Kattipudida Kannala " from Kushi, listen to the beat of this song & now listen to "Maasi maasam alaana ponnu" from Tharmadhurai.

well i listened to she's a lady and i dont think i would call it a source code copy! etc...
i am sorry ajlg.. i understand what you are trying to say.. maybe similar rhythm patterns and you can actually sing krishna krishna for the same beats of "she a lady"
but they arent similar enugh to suggest "copying"

Is the song "Andha pakkam" from Puthu vasantham a copy of Hassan Jehangir's "Hawa Hawa"?
Hassan Jehangir's Nikkha muta Bajra (Urudu thrinthavargal mannikka) is easily one of the great numbers in Brindavana Saranga!
Just curious!RDB's "Zindagi ki ke safar" from "Aap Ki Kasam" follows the same notes as that of Nusrat's Afreen?Atleast the first line.

Karthik..when I heard Gentleman's "Parkadhe" first time...I was very sure that it was from a Hindi song which I'd heard....I think you are right there..it's an adaptation from an Osibisa song...the Gentleman Pyramid cassette also had an ARR's version of some Alan Parson's Project instrumental number (or was it the Pudhiya Mugam cassette)....

Except for the first two syllables, i dont find any similarity between paakadhe and kelele. But this is mentioned as "heavily inspired" in copied.newtfmpage.com. Same is the case with the song Mellisaye, which is also tagged as heavily inspired.
Btw, the clipping that they have for "Veesum Kaatrukku" in newtfmpage is a wrong one. It should be "Listen With your Heart - Pocahontas" which is available in I2FS site. And this is the one which has to be tagged as Heavily Inspired.

Copies which I stumbled upon:
(1) mazaiye oh mazaiye from punnagai desam - from ek din beeth jaayega (kishore kumar)
(2) kaatrile paattu varum from punnagai desam - recycle sivaranjini (with phrases of 'kaatrile naaNal pOla aaduvEn..nee varum paadhaiyil pookkaLaai pooththiruppEn ( aanandham aanandham)) and the ending rEvathi lifted completely from 'DevasabaathaLam' of His highness abdullah.
