You're welcome, Guess who.
Another latest copy.
Its from yet to be released film 'Murari'. (dont know who is the MD).
The song on air is copied lock stock and barrel from Marathi chartbuster
'Dagala Lagli Kala..Pani Themp Themp Gala'.

Good observation rhymes ;)
BTW did any one of you notice YSR's "Sadugudu" song from Manadhai Thirudi Vittai is simiilar to "Valaiosai" from Sathya and ...
Is ARR's chorus in "Allez Allez" from 12ka4 inspired from Modern Talking's "Brother Louie" ?
Could someone please clarify ?

I dont think there is any inspiration from Brother Louie in allez's chorus. Sounds sorta similar but no inspiration IMO.

Guys:
Who's the MD for the film Azhiyadha kolangal?
It's a film by Balu Mahendra ....
(Don't say that music is by IR).
What are the good song in that film. I just saw the film in bit and pieces and I noticed a song at the end where kamal(seems to come only at the last) sees a photo and the song just plays. What's the song?
Tell me the song and I will tell you why I asked for it.

CF , Saleel chowdhury is the MD and he used his 'Anand' tune in Azhiyaadha kolangaL(naan ennum pozhudhu)

Common friend,
Azhiyadha kolangal - MD is Salil Chowdhury.
I have'nt seen the movie, but there are 2 songs worth mentioning. One is "Poo vannam" by Jayachandran-PS and the other "Naan Ennum" by SPB, a ghazal type solo. The song that you have in mind, is it either of these two ?
- From: vgs (@ 157.161.133.194)

oops, I see that Ramki has beat me to the answer...

vgs :
Thanks. Exactly. The song I had in mind was a hindi song "Naa jiya laage naa". Actually, the original song is a bengali song by lata her self. The bengali song is "naa mon laage naa". I tried to find the films name , but I couldn't. If you had seen the film , then you will agree that it had some amazing BGMs. The emotions of the boys in that film are brought out very effectively.
I was more certain that it would not have been IR as if it had been then long before a fight would have erupted here. But, balu mahendra factor made me rethink on that.
Thanx anyway.

Common Friend..... iam not sure, but i think that's the only movie Balu Mahendra did without IR..... can someone confirm pls....

Common Friend, All though you are exactly right when you say "Naan Ennum" from Azhiyatha Kolangal and "Naa jiya laage naa" from Anand (1970) and "naa mon laage naa" (which is listed as a Non-film Bengali song released in 1969 with music by SC and sung by LM ), there is no copying involved because Salil Chowdhury is the MD for all these 3 songs. I would like to refer you to
http://www.cybercomm.nl/~gautam/Salil/songs.html
An excellent site on the life and accomplishments of Salil Chowdhury. In this site, It is quite clearly mentioned that he used to use the same tune across different languages ! In fact, the songs in different languages having the same tune are actually documented and interlinked in this site. A must-visit for people interested in his music...

Salil repeated the Chemmen song “Kadali “also in this movie as “Kidacha unakku”
But Naan Ennum ..(SPB) even with absolutely inane lyrics(Gangai Amaran) is a stand-out song. SPB singing "Andha Naal" would take you back to our school days and the days of your innocence.
The movie itself was a copy of Summer of 4é.
Is Salil's other score Ullamellam Thallduthey...(Dhoorathu Idi Muzhakkam) also a Hindi song?
Mr.Observer, the Vairam song is "Mani Maligai Pol". I made a mistake. But I understand that this is also based on a Hindi song?

OSIG, yes the song was based on 'kuchch kehthA hai yeh sAwan' by Rafi and Lata, MD : Laxmikanth-Pyarelal, pretty mediocre stuff.

V Kumar it seems has claimed that RAdhayin Nejame(Kanne Papa) is his orginal. Was SDB the composer for Sharmili?
V Kumar did it again with Kadhoduthan Naan Paaduven(Velli Vizha) which is a GROSS inspiration from Jeena Yahan..
Sometime back i read that IR's Vadai Vaatuthu(Sakkalathi?) is actually copy from a Rafi song?Clarify.
Getting unduly suspicious?... The rhythm of Seergazhi-Janaki duet(Poojaikku Vantha malar) is very close to Ninaivo oru paravai (Sigappu Rojakkal)Charanams....?

OSIG,
kanne papa music scored by T.L.V Raju( Ramki -help),I think.
It also had another song copied from zindhagi ek safar ( Kalangela kalangela).
Kadhoduthan Naan padduven only the first two lines had any similarity to jeena yahan, if at all.
Where did you read that V.Kumar claimed radhayain nejame as his original song?.
Please stop from making any Unsubstantiated allegations.
I have been following your posts recently, and most of your allegations did not make any sense.

OSIG/HMSUK:
'Raadhaiyin nenjame' is from Kanimuthu paapa not from KannE paapa.
Music TV Raju.
The film is a remake of 'andaaz'.
The film had two more songs. 'kaalangaLE kaalangaLE' and 'chithi sollu sollu' which are also based on some hindi songs.

True it is only the first line in 'kAthOduthAn..' that sounds like that in 'jeen yahAn'. 'theem thana ...' from Rhythm has the same tune (or nearly the same tune) as ARR's own 'anbendra mazhayilE' with maybe slight changes in the meter, which in turn has the same structure as Hemant Kumar's 'tErE dwAr khadA ek jOgi' in 'Nagin' (old).

Yesterday was seeing Sun TV...heard the song
"Boom Boom Mattukaran..." from Athey Kangal..
the tune reminded me of "Chim Chimney Chim Chimney" from Mary Poppins? or some Walt Disney musical.....KArthik could u chk whether this was a lift ?

Cosmician:
Yes I'd call it inspired! There are 2 songs in hindi which are clearly inspired by the Mary Poppins song 'Chim chim chiree'...Jatin Lalit's 'tum humko hum tumko sanam' from Laqshya and Anand Raj Anand's 'chim chimney' from Ghoonghat.
The older tamil version is a good inspiration and not that pronounced!

I did meet a group of musicians when i was in india and there a Violin player who plays for film BGMs told about V.Kumar's claim. But it is very much my fault not have verified the MD for Kanimuthu Papa.I took the source's authenticity for granted.Sorry.I agree that my post borders on slander.
BUT i have got a confirmation that Vadai Vaatuthu was indeed played in Ceylon Radio in the programme "Mettondru Patirandu".A small article regarding this came in the subsequent week Kumudam .Once i get the Kumudam date i shall let know.
AGAIN, Ninaivo oru Paravai was part of the same ceylon Programme. But the original song was some PBS song and not the Poojaikku Vantha Malar song.
The programme was in 1979-1981 period.Ceylon Radio listeners ,i hope, will add to the input.
When we were practising to play the PVM song on the keybaord the rhythm matched with that of Ninaivo...I was just trying to get some expert opinion.infact the singer, an ardant IR fan, sang the charanams with the same Rhypat.
Nice to know that my postings have been followed. But if you could list out my other"senseless" allegations i am ready to clarify.

Has somebody heard the title song of the Sun TV serial Indira starring Gautami? It sounds a lot like the hindi song 'jaan leva' by Rajesh Roshan in the recent Arjun Rampal-Manisha starrer Moksh! Probably inspired from the same source!
