One of the TFM pages, someone told “ PS sung 148 songs for IR. (proof.:raajangahm.com “). Someone replied “ no, so many songs are missing”. I just started collecting the songs. Very interesting part is “ some good numbers of IR is sung by PS in telugu
“ chinnathayaval thantha raasaave” – dalapathi ( SJ in tamil)
“valayosi kalakalakala ena kavithaigal - sathya (lata mangehkar in tamil)
“naanoru sindhu, kavadi sindhu” - sindhu bhairavi ( chitra in tamil)
“ore naal unai naan nilavil paarthathu”– ilami oonjaladugirathu ( VJ in tamil)
“kanna varuvaya mere ketkiral” -- manthil uruthi vendum (chitra in tamil)
“manjolai kili thano, maan thano” –kizhake poghum rayil
“ithayam poghuthe,enaye pirinthe” – puthiya vaarpugal (jency in tamil)

  Hey... There was a song from "Magathil Mugam Paarkalam" (Vijayakumar and Sumithra)... sung by Ps with MVD..

  Does anything have the link for "Kaatrinile varum geetham" title song? I need the PS version (it was sung for a ghost character), not SJ's or VJ's.
  
  In one of te interviews, IR said, the heroine Kavith acted in 3 different roles and the same song was sung by 3 different singers.
  
  Somehow I am not able to get PS version... can any1 help?

  I have seen a telugu movie "mayadhari krishnudu" which is a remake of "Anbukku naan adinai and music by IR. Other than Rajini, rathi and sujatha all are telugu actors and actresses. All songs were Ps and I have noticed only two songs.
  1. Chintagaku selakatti -- SPB-PS ( kathodu poourasa, poova vandurasa in tamil)
  2.Okkadakku okkada iddadam -- a solo sung by sujatha -- Ontrodu ontranom)
  Our tel. friends can help to findout other songs.
  Is there any forum to discuss about PS tel. songs?

  List of songs sung by PS in telugu which were sung by other singers in Tamil. Most of the songs directed by IR !!!:
  
  1. Rasave onna naan eNNi thaan (SP Sailaja from Thani kaatu raja)
  2. KaNNan engay radhai angay (S Janaki from ILamai Kolam acted by Suman and Radhika in Tamil, Saritha in Telugu)
  3. Idhayam..... pogudhey (Jency from Pudhiya varppugal)
  4. Thamnana thamnana thaLam varum... along with SJ (Jency & B Vasantha from Pudhiya varppugal)
  5. MalagaLil adum iLamai pudhumaye (SP Sailaja from KalyaNa raman)
  6. Nanoru sindhu kavadi chindhu (Chitra from Sindhu Bhairavi)
  7. Dharisanam kidaikaadhaa... along with SPB (IR+SJ from AlaigaL Oaivadhillai)... In telugu, it is full fledged song not as in Tamil

  Kalai, it stats with "sirimalle...", only that I remember. The rendering was much better than Sailaja.

  You have missed out 'Dinam Dinam oru naadakam' film IduEppadiIrukku.
  Ponthottam - sung by SPShailaja.
  In Nadiyai thedi vantha, JJ plays the role of a young vivacious , creer woman while Fatafat, a typical , soft housewife. Probably to differentiate, IR could have opted for SPS for JJ and PS for fatafat.
  Iam a great admirer of PS. But , being a singer myself and a keen observer,her voice was its best in late 60's and early seventies. Later on , if u observe, her voive started thickening and in Muthumani maala song , one cannot miss the strain in her voice when she tries to reach higher octaves in 'Kazhuthila potta thaali thaan' while SPB sings effortlessly.
  In 'thiru theril varum silayo' song, her voice goes flat in the high pitch sentence 'Raagangalil Mohanam some thing .This is not to put down PS. But to emphasise the fact that her performance was not the best post 1980.

  Today I could seen the tel version of "Jaani"-a rajni-sridevi starrer movie in teja tv. Two wonderful songs are by PS in IR music and her voice made the song even more great compared to tamil.
  1.Oru iniya manadhu isayai ( Oka kanni manasu kanala raja nadham,prema oka vedham)
  2. En vaanile ore vennila (Ee velalo oke veduka, kanalu paaditha, kavitha lallitha, subhaVela )
  Tamil version of both the songs were by jency.
  "aasaya kaathula thoothu vittu" was not shown. I dont know who has sung. I hope, our tel. friends can get this songs for us.

  I really wonder why IR did not assign the Tamil versions of these great songs :-)) anyway, PS was used at least in Telugu movies by IR.
  
  By the way, who sung "Kaatril...." (SJ in Tamil)?
  
  Am very eager to listen to the telugu versions.

  Shall I respond to your Q Purv? JJ is our Amma (Jayalalitha). NTVK's hero was Sarat babu (opp to Fatafat), whom was loved by JJ also. Srikantha played a main villain role.

  Yes true Kalai. "kasthoori maane kalyaNa thene" sung by Uma ramanan in Tamil was sung by PS in Telugu ("Sirimalli poove..."). The male voice was KJY :-)
  
  There was one more excellent duet in Pudhumai PeNN in Tamil. What was that?
  
  "Tendral puyalaagi" sung by MVD in Tamil was sung by SPB in telugu.

  One more IR+PS combination tel. song
  " Mathande Paapa neeve, Mathandi vega neeve" (words may not be correct ). I have seen the movie today in Teja tv, but I coulnt read the movie name. This song is a lullaby twice used in the movie one for vanisree and the sad version is for Jayasudha. Ramyakrishanan, suresh and sarathbabu are the other starcast. pl. findout the movie name friends !

  Kalai
  The song that you are mentioning is "Maa kanti paapa neeve, maa kanthi rekha neeve, naa kanna thalli neeve laali laali jo" sung by PS. It is a vintage IR composition, a very beautiful one. The song is a lullaby from the movie "Swathichinukulu". The movie is the story of a girl with two mothers (one by birth and the other who she was raised by) and the issues in the family regarding. The movie was a flop and was soon playing on the doordarshan, but a couple of songs are really good.
  
  Kalai seems to be a regular viewer of teja TV. Interesting! Also thanks for reminding a wonderful number.

  You are correct! Thank U very much.
  Lots of tamil remake movies comes in teja-tv and gemini TV. From that I could listen number of good PS songs.
  Most of IR songs, which is sung by Uma ramanan, Jency, sasirekha are replaced with PS voice in telugu. I was really happy watching "Johny" tel. version, with Two beatiful numbers of PS songs.

  What Sasirekha's songs (In Tamil) were sung by PS in Telugu?
  
  And some songs of SJ, VJ, Sailaja, Chitra were also sung by PS.
  
  I already raised this question, want to repeat... why IR did not make PS to sing these songs in Tamil? May be wanted to compare whether PS is able to reach the heights of other singers sung in Tamil? :-))) A great test indeed, if this was true :-))

  Hi Kaumudi
  I need a detail of a telugu movie. the songs are
  1. Gantamu puiyaruga panneeru ganthamu puiyaruga
  2.Kanchikki pothava krishnamma
  3.Manthara (aa chintha nee kelara)
  All from the same movie sung by PS & SPB and the actress is Sulakshana. I liked all the songs in the movie and PS voice suits very much for Sulakshana (baby dolly?!). I donno the MDs name also.
