P.Susheela-Ilayaraja combination (revised)

One of the TFM pages, someone told “ PS sung 148 songs for IR. (proof.:raajangahm.com “). Someone replied “ no, so many songs are missing”. I just started collecting the songs. Very interesting part is “ some good numbers of IR is sung by PS in telugu
“ chinnathayaval thantha raasaave” – dalapathi ( SJ in tamil)
“valayosi kalakalakala ena kavithaigal - sathya (lata mangehkar in tamil)
“naanoru sindhu, kavadi sindhu” - sindhu bhairavi ( chitra in tamil)
“ore naal unai naan nilavil paarthathu”– ilami oonjaladugirathu ( VJ in tamil)
“kanna varuvaya mere ketkiral” -- manthil uruthi vendum (chitra in tamil)

  Regrding the film "Kannukoru Vanna Kili.."
  
  1. Are you sure that the MD is IR? Please confirm.
  2. Also please list the songs and the respective singer
  3. Who acted in that movie?

  This thread is on "PS+IR Combination songs". Some songs listed by you are not under IR's music direction. Ex: edho oru nadhiyil nan iranguvadhai pole, Kanni rasi en rasi, udhadugalil unadhu peyer otti kondadhu etc...

  Subbu, you are right about 'Moondrezhithil en moochirukkum' -it was Illaya gangai, who is IR's nephew. (hence a combo of the names of IR and GA)
  
  Reg. Kannukkoru vannakkili- it was definitely by IR. I think the film was never released, or even completed. It was produced by actor Raveendar. I remember that Latha M sang a song in it.

  Here are the songs I remember from Kannukkoru Vannakkili. MD: IR.
  
  1. Thuli Thuli ThuLiyAi: P.Susheela & Mano
  - A vintage IR kind of composition with excellent orchestration & chorus. PS sounds as sweet as ever.
  2. Unnai NAn PArkaiyil OomayAi pOgiRen: S.P.B & Asha Bhosle
  - A breezy duet with shades of KalyANi

  Am not sure whether Kalai has added this song of IR+PS combo..
  
  The film was acted by Prabhu + Kanaka. Kanaka and her friends sing this song sung by PS, Mini Joseph (Minmini was called like this earlier) and one more singer. The film was under Sivaji films banner.

  You mentioned the film name as "Kaali" for the song "aruviyile kuruvi". Is it not from the film Karadi (i am not sure whethere it was released). And the MD was Gangai amaran (am sure of it). Please check.

  Yes, Ram, I too don't think Pudhia Sangamam was ever released. Addl. information- it was produced by veteran actor MK Radha. Music by Ramakrishna Raja. One more song from it, often aired on Ilangai vaanoli-- 'Enakkum unakkum inimel enna kurai'- SPB-SJ. Stg-Prabhu & Suhasini.

  But the film was released. I saw the film in Alankar theatre (Morning show) sometime in 1980's. yeah it was acted by Suhasini and Prabhu. A bit by Chandrasekar also. It was a flop movie.
  
  The song sung by PS was really great and am searching for that link or audio cassette. Can you help to get it.

  In your IR+PS combio list, there is a song "Pasikku sorumille" (Thaai moogambigai).
  
  Was that for KR Vijaya who sings on the steps of a Tank (Theppa KuLam) along with Saritha. This is like a viruththam / Thogayaraa. Pl confirm.

  Have u guys ever mentioned the song 'Mella Mella ennai thotu..' from a sivaji, ambika starer movie,
  Vazkai. Silk smitha sings in the movie.
  
  Beatiful violin by V S Narasimhan.
  It is duet by PS and rajkumar barathi..

  Few corrections
  1. Pennai solli Kutramillai, was with Vijayakumar and Y Vijaya. Srikanth was the villian. And the MD was not IR. May be V Kumar or SG.
  2. 'Mella Mella ennai thotu..' was sung by Raj seetharaman (alongwith PS).. yeah.. PS sang that song in a different Mayakkum voice, especially that "oh" in between words...

  Another seductive number that PS excelled in (and for a change IR didn't give it to SJ) was the 'Soora Samharam' song, 'Aadum Neram Idhu dAn idhu dAn Va Va Va Va'.
  Cool composition and super cool rendering! (the 'rounded' beats were great.

  "Aadum neram" was indeed a chorus song, with PS singing only the pallavi (the actress too was Pallavi:-))

  Subbu, that was not Virutham. Virutham is sung mainly on Muruhan. That was a veNpa written by Ouvaiyar that starts as "Katrathu Kaiyalavu....."
