Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....
Also; use this thread to discuss this album..
Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

How does EVERY Rahman thread get polluted like this?
One counter Attack on an IR thread and all hell breaks loose.
Why why why??
(try imagining it in Aravind Swamy's situation in Bombay) :)

Wasn't mounam pesiyadhe recorded in DTS 5.1?I could have sworn that it said so on the dvd i watched.

They can enhance the 5.1 surround to DTS 5.1 later.Which is what they did for the Mounam Pesiyadhe. But sometimes all they do is just make the light flash DTS on your receiver and make the sound come louder only. But they did it correctly for mounam pesiyadhe.
The difference about BOYS i believe Shankar is going to have the movie play in DTS 5.1 in the theater.Which will be a nice treat.

To MusicIsLife:
First off i am a sir.I liked the way you did the same thing I did.Hopefully you didn't take it as an insult.I just wanted to give you respect and I do not know whether you are a sir or madam.
Sorry if I you had missed what i said. I know you guys in India have receivers that are DTS 5.1, the point I was trying to make is tamil movies are not recorded in it(am I correct?) for you to enjoy it. You will find it on DVDs of the much recent tamil movies though. Have I cleared up my thought now?If not just tell me or just bring me upto speed on what youhave in India becuz truly I do not know because I live in the US.
To V:
As for you that are all for piracy I can't believe you wil stoop that low. Hindhi movies do come to DVD within a week or so....but hat does not mean those are the original DVDs. Because I have seen them most are very poor quality. There are DVD recorders so watch out for pirated DVDs.

I happened to listen to BOYS but was not impressed about it. ARR has lost the knack of keeping the melody and beats in balance which he was good at it. All songs are with heavy beats suppressing the singer's voice and lyrics.
The quality of lyrics has also considerably depreciated with the exit of Vairamuthu from ARR's team. All that I hear now from ARR is SMS messaging, Don't care about parent's views type of lyrics. Its disgusting to hear only these lines throughout the song.
Even in Jeans, he had nicely meddled with modern music, lyrics and melody. So the end product was good quality, yet modern music. But with BOYS he has produced some crappy beats and very bad songs with bad lyrics.
I would be suprised if this movie becomes a big hit.

Dorai!!
Movie might become a hit, if it does have Shankar's good screen-play and the details are taken care of.
