Gavanikkap Padadha Paadalgal

Hi all:

Many times we miss to notice certain songs which are too good, just because either the film goes for a flop or some other popular song in the film overshadows this one. Hearing such a song carefully will tell how superbly it is crafted. I will start with a couple of such songs :

1) Kanna Varuvaya (Manadhil Urudhi Vendum). The beginning humming itself is mesmerising. And the interludes are simply superb.
2) Chinna thayaval thandha rasave (Dhalapathi). Soga Rasam pizhiyum paadal. The tune of this song comes often in the BGM. The beginning, the interludes are too great! Its been a very long time I heard this song.
3) Keeravani Iravile Kanavile Paada Vaa Nee (Paadum Paravaigal). A beautiful one by SPB.

  1. Panium Neeye MAzhaium Neeye by SG. A very good song. The tune is just haunting. Donno the name of the movie.
  
  2. Oru Brindhavanam engal veedanathu.. by MSV. Some Vijayaknath movie directed by Vijai's father.
  
  3. Sandhosham Kanadha VAzhvunda.. from 'Vasanthi'. A very good song. Wonder what Chandrabose is doing these days. He's GOD compared to Deva and the likes.

  Some times GA does extremely good job. One of the best album by him is Chinna Thambi Periya Thambi.. It has great
  songs! 1. Oru Kaathal Enpathu un....(SPB,SJ) 2. Oru Aalamarathila Andi...(Chitra) Is this song included in the movie?

  The first two are from KB's 'Azhagan' and the other two are from KB's Vaaname Ellai by Maragathamani (he has this crazy name, M.M. KREEM in Hindi!!!!!!!!).
  
  5. Uyirum Neeye Uravum Neeye from pavithra by ARR, sung very well by Unni K. (Though this song not wasn't well-received by the junta, it along with Ennavale got him the national award)
  
  6. Kuyile Kuyile from Kadhal Oviyam (IR)
  7. Azhage Azhagu Devathai (Raja Paarvai-IR)
  8. Thenmozhi Anbu Thenmozhi (Solla Thudikkudu manasu-IR)
  9. Karaiyaada Manamum Undo (Varusham 16-IR)
  10. Nalam Paaduveen Nee Vaazhathan (A great solo by S Janaki (in a film starring Lakshmi, Shivakumar and Ambika... I forgot the name). Music was by Ravindran. It starts with a mind-blowing piano piece in the Hindustani Raga 'Sohni'. Can any one help me identify the film?

  - Adi Maadi veetu maaney unai... Good song by JC, ? from the film 'Natpu'. The movie bombed in the box office, but 'Athikaalai Suba velai' was a hit song from this album. This song is good too.
  - Thupaaki Kaiyil Eduthu Rendu...
  This song is sung by IR. Not a bad song. Was this movie a hit?

  I too love the song from PUDU CHERUPPU KADIKKUM: Chittirappoo Chelai. A great melody from SPB. Who was the MD, BTW?
  
  In Uzhavan, there's an SPB number which more or less follows the same pattern as the above song (in terms of its structure, not the tune)
  
  Sugamana Chintanayil is also a good song. I thought the MD was IR.
  
  Engum Nirainda Iyarkayil Enna Sugamo is another unlucky number.

  starts as thendral kaatrE thendral kaatrE. It is a nice
  song that I heard a few times many years ago, but never
  heard it again. Raja is the MD. Did that movie have any
