UV, jdd, Sridhar,
I have uploaded two soundfonts (mridhangam and
ghatam) in this zip file. These were created
an year back. If you like them, I can tinker
with them a little more and improve them.
http://www.geocities.com/rjaymidi/soundfonts.zip
Each sf2 file has 10-15 strokes from each instrument mapped to each key including black
keys - for about 2 octaves. Load this into Vienna Soundfont editor and you can find the individual strokes. Let me know if you have problems or if
it is OK.

He mixes our devotional songs and sings with full passion at the same the fusion he has done is very unique i think not much of people have attempted it

You may need a SBLive or a EMU synth to use
soundfonts. (Even though I vaguely remember
a sample playback PC-based software called
Timidity which could playback soundfont music
even without a sblive card.
Soundfont is a sample representation that is used
by Soundblaster Live and Soundblaster AWE cards
and E-MU workstations.
You can sample instruments on a PC, map the sounds to a midi keyboard layout and assign
pitch, effect, stereo etc and then you can
save it as a soundfont.
Arul, do you have a sblive card?

Jai Uttal is a great discovery. I listened to a sample from "Monkey" ( I think the first one ). Wonderfully he handled the Peel Raaga and it's transitions to Kapi - really cool.

Excellent - that's my favourite too:-)) I like the chord progression in your revathi raga compositions.
Just a doubt about Raga Names: ( KharaharaPriya Janya Raga )
Sa Re Ga Ma Da Ne sa
Sa Ne Da Ma Ga Re Sa
Is This SriRanjani Raga?
Sa Ga Ma Da Ne Sa
Sa Ne Da Ma Ga Re Sa
Is this Bhageshri?
Sa Ga Ma Da Ne Sa
Sa Ne Da Ma Ga Sa
What's this Raga?

I really liked the Malkones song and gOpAla song. Though I have heard electric guitar played the indian way many times, this song is very successful in bringing the joy of singing the Indian way to rock fans (my wife will not let me play this at home, I guess:)).
The gOpala song is also very good in brining out the nuances and subtleties in the Indian vocal tradition. It is interesting while foreigners are discovering these things in our music, we guys are going for the 'cool, urbanish, poppish' style of singing. Still I dont think the western drums and tabla are well integrated. They seem to be just layered. But the playing here is better (hearty) than other fusion albums I have listened to. I really like this song for the vocals/singing. Interesting is also, the flute transition to the interludes.
