Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”

Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.

Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

  YES. as everyone has, SRK too has a string of flops in his career. But the way he managed to give a hit every now and then (more often than others) and managed to retain his charisma (more importantly his star status) despite those flops - thats what makes him a STAR. there are quite a few films that ran on his shoulders - K3G (one of the worst movies that can be made, IMHO) was a hot just for the starcast and especially SRK, Mohabattein (again, nothing special in this movie to become a hit) and quite a few more.

  By the size of hindi film market, i don't give a damn to the small budget films made on stars clicking and calling it a hit, be it Aamir or Shahrukh.
  Mohabaten and chalte chalte just scraped through, K3g ran for the star cast and also SRK.
  KHNH is a commission earner, not a hit. The returns are about 20% as per Box office website.
  Are we talking about big hits like Gadar, Laagan, KK hota hai, DDL jayege Hum apke hain khon, raja hindustani, QSQ tak, that's really a feather in an actors cap.

  Appadi sollala. But he did have many flops including one in his home production.

  same case with me. KM is not a movie which had memorable scenes or dialogues. am not saying that isn't a good movie. but there wasn'tany sensational stuff that stays in your mind. romba yethaarthamaana movies yelaam romba neram nikkathu manasula. agni nakshathram, nayagan maathiri movies yelaam romba varusham aanalum you still remember most part of it. more than KM. correct aa?

  Yeah, adhu correctu. KM dealt more with emotions. Scenes-oda character nalla manasula ninnudhu, IMO.

  Everybody here know very well that Rahman's concert at CBSO turned miserable with one number falling apart,but the question now is what's the aftermath other than those pungent reviews,Rahman was supposed to do one more concert there, based on a Persian poem.Did he do that? or he is yet to do it? or the CBSO prevented him from doing so? am clueless,please give credible infos and links.

  Mani Ratnam's films are always like that. I dont know if ppl on the crew learn all the techniques and intricasies of cinema from him.. but i do know they learn to keep a secret! :)
  
  Let the film release man. Adhu varai, let's not be too bothered abt it.
