Too many posters are using other topics to discuss/slam/comment/praise IR/ARR that I thought we could use this one thread as a catch all for all those posts. Welcome guys!!!

Velaiyaththavan, nice see you doing SPM.
SPM, only copy all his post which have same content, in all threads. IR is "GOD" and I am the only great devotee. Latest addition, Bollywood MD call him "God of music".
I AM BACK- Yenna saar orediya?....:-) Best, IR say now he can compose better symphony, allow him to.

Satheesh,
When are you building the temple for IR? Is that right after you finish constructing one for yourself and your big ego?
You should start 'analysing' music more than preaching about IR and your sofisticated (according to you) taste(?) for music. Otherwise leave this forum and join a religious one.
IR composed a symphony? Maybe you consider his recent work in Rajasthan and Chinna Durai to be symphonies.

Ram, all you have been saying is ARR is good and IR is bad. You couldnt even compare their work and justify your statements.

Satheesh!
IR started using synth much before PMannan, even Johny & Nizhalgal had songs with synth music. Programmable stuff was started with PMannan, I think!

I wasn't trying to make fun. I don't know if you all believe mr.arr when he says that his english is not good. I posted this after I read his posting in another thread where he wrote properly. I think that he is doing this on purpose. So I just thought I might give him a taste of his own medicine. It wasn't intended to hurt his feelings, if they were. Anyhow, I thought that everyone would take it lightly, and I guess I was wrong. Anyways, my apologies if the my posting had offended anyone.

Satheesh,
"Ram, all you have been saying is ARR is good and IR is bad. You couldnt even compare their work and justify your statements."
Where exactly did I say that IR was bad? I understand that you being a pre-schooler you will have some problems reading.
I haven't said IR is bad. I am not going to compare their work and conclude that those people who don't have the same taste as myself are morons. People have different tastes, and music is a universal language so don't try to tell people what to listen. This is the difference between an IR fanatic and an ARR fanatic, the IR fanatic can't sleep unless he can convince an ARR fan to convert.
"I suppose you'll find http://www.waltdisney.com more entertaining. This is not the place for you."
Man you must have a lot of time on your hands, not only do you have time to listen to and analyse IR's works, and also ARR's work (eventhough you claim you can't stand his music), but you also have the time to find sites for me to visit. Or is it that you are already familiar with that site?

aruvi, sorry. I just wanted to tell you that if this goes on and on, we will be in muddy waters, ie..if ARRfan wants to imitate SPM let him and bb will take care of it. If we too indulge, we will be taking dirt on us and you know there may not be an end for this :-(

Dear Friends
I still don't understand, what all this fuss is about other than some ego trip. A long time ago movies were made for the emotional content. Remember Paasa Malar and the whole series of Paa movies. Tell me one person who wouldnt have cried seeing them. MSV - TKR's music lingered in our minds thanks to thier provess in creating light classical and light music. But then came Barathiraaja, ilayaraaja and company. Movies very more strongly based on excellant scripts and started to be shot outdoors. New sounds were needed. New blood gave those sounds. Movies with good music started to do well in the box office. Movies started bieng made for songs, like R sunderrajan movies and still the emotional content in the movies were not compromised much. But do we watch movies for the same reason now? NO. NOT AT ALL. Today we go to see movies for fun. We are not very much inclined to cry in public. There comes songs like Mukkaala mukkabla, Columbus, chikkubuku railu, etc. All these songs were excellant compositions much better in its own way than many fun songs by other MD's. Now does that mean that ARR is not capable of making emotional numbers. NO. Listen to songs like Uyirum neeyae (Pavithra), En Kaadalae en kaadalae (Duet), Oh Vennila (Kadal desam) etc. Arr can make fantastic emotional works too. But, times have changed and in the present time music from people like ARR, Baradwaj and Vidya saagar find more relevance than the sounds that used to be created by IR. Will these songs last for long. May be yes , may be no. But sure they would win hearts as they are proving now. Let me end by saying that IR WAS great, ARR IS great and who knows who is going to be the next great musician? Now tell me what are we fighting here for?

Hello mr.Alumoonji,
I didn't cry watching the Pa ...series movies or the pasa malar, it made me laugh sometimes looking at Nadigar T's overaction actually, more over it is the phase of your life during which you are watching the different dimension's of emotions, as a kid many might have cried watching Annai or aalayam , Anbulaa Superstar kind of stuff, as an adolescent many might have cried watching Maro charithra, Idayathai thirudaade, panner pushpangal and lot many love stories based movies, as adults many cry when they watch movies (any kind for that matter) when one of the main /side charactser resemble very much with their own's or one of their close ones especially with a very sad situation in the movie, lot of senior citizen's might have cried watching "vaa kanna vaa" kind of stuff,
nobody wants to cry in public, i am surprised at the staement "inclined to cry in public?", why should any body be inclined to cry?
well, in one of the pop up videos facts by VH1 several months ago, they showed an average woman cries( i presume not literally with tears, could it be oru maadhiriyaana vedhanai) at least 19 times a month, and the more surprising thing is that an average man cries at least 7 times a month, is n't it crazy?, well god only knows where or how and why they get such statistics, but your argument about crying and ARR' making FANTASTIC EMOTIONAL songs, you must be kidding? on top of that when ever his compositions are claimed as emotionally impacting, our current crop of crap directors are still worse in rottening them by their worst picturisations, except for probably Bharthi raja and MR.
ARR is just a talented young musician with tons of luck chasing him all the time and of course with lot of potential in utilising the appropriate opportunities, he should really prove himself by giving as many original songs as possible and not just copying and serving with some recycled stuff, vaazhga tamil makkale,
hey look i didn't talk about IR at all, thalaiangathukka avamariyadhaiya?
guys enjoy and be proud to be the fan of graet IR after all you are one of the many lucky people who are fortunate to have born during this greatest era/period of century where the 24th son (born to the 4th wife) of a person from a village called pannay puram has lived and given the life time opportunity to feel the eternity even before your death by virtue of his master pieces. Several decades from now in the coming years of the millaneum when some of your younger generations 50 , 60 years from now, dig out this great genious's work and will laugh at their foolish ancestors for not having enjoyed IR's music when infact they lived during his time.

Guys I think we should put an end to this meaningless debate. IR is genius and he will continue to give us gems. no doubt about it.
To all ARR fans - If you love his songs thats alright and if u buy his music thats alright too.( me too enjoy some of his foot tapping mixes once in a while )
JUST DONT GLORIFY HIM. HE DOES NOT DESERVE IT
