isnt Lajja composed by Anu Malik??and only 1 song is by illairaja???and i got this review just for u guys!!!
Kaun dagar, composed by guest composer Ilaiyaraja is nothing worth writing home about. Save the fact that one gets to hear Lata Mangeshkar after quite a while.
The music of Lajja is a perfect case of all style, no substance. Anu Malik doesn't do justice to Lajja, which is a shame considering he's capable of far better fare.

and more :
Finally we get to the part everybody was waiting for, the Lata Mangeshkar song, ala Pukar. But, this time its not AR Rahman, its Ilyaraja as music director and Prasoon Joshi as lyricist. Maybe I give more credit to AR Rahman, but the song sounds similar to “Ek Tu Hi Bharosa.” Lata is at her best as always, but she is not the same as she was 10 years ago. Again, average fare.
Overall, this album is average fare, therefore the rating 5/10. Anu Malik has to give better music for these big banner movies, otherwise, AR Rahman, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Jatin-Lalit, Nadeem Shravan, etc… will have the upper hand.

I stumbled upon an eerie coincidence. IR's Marupadiyam title score aptly fits The Sixth sense's "Malcome is dead" score (Final realization that he is dead). Both IR's piece and Newton's piece start with similar tone and structure and sounds very similar. Ofcourse, the horror part in IR's piece is missing but still it is so much similiar. Marupadiyum is not horror film yet it sounds like a good title for Sixth sense's Tamil version :) I think, if The Sixth sense is a Tamil film and Malcom is Kamalahassan, IR's score would fit very well with the sixth sense's climax situation. Check it out.

'Sadugudu Sadugudu' song sung by P.Susheela and L.R.Eswari is inspired by 'Hungarian Raphsody - No:2' (2nd half) by Franz Liszt.

Boss, you have gone to some lengths to put yourself to shame.
The reference to Lajja in this thread was with respect to BGM, which was composed by the Maestro for the Hungarian Orchestra, Budapest.

prasanna,
I am pretty sure of the Boys song being similar to eminem's song. But Boys started a long back and eminem's song came out in 2001/2002 I think. I would give the benefit of doubt to ARR, though his lifting of Baba's theme track from Untouchables, puts some doubts on his recent performance.
About the other inspirations I don't have access to the clips and hence cannot comment on them.

In fact, the tune (I mean "manmatha rasa") was a hit in all languages where it debuted. The original malayalam song {"chinga masam vannu chernal" (meaning 'when the month of harvest arrives, I will make you mine")" in the movie "meesa madhavan"} was a super-duper hit and helped to make "meesa madhavan" the supermost hit of last year. The song also launched Jyothirmayi, the actress who danced to the tune as a top actress in malayalam.
There is a Kannada version of the song which has also become a hit, which you will find is being played endlessly on kannada TV channels. I also understand a Telugu version is already out, and possibly a hindi version too. Kind of, it reminds me of "mukkala muquabala" of kadalan, of which there was a version in every language (even kashmeri!) in the 90's.
Coming to "Manmatha Rasa", the tune has been made peppier in the tamil version by making the female voice raspy (sexed up?), and basing the song more on rythm than on melody (the original song was fast but melodious).

(though i am not bringing down anyone. NOM).

But it is so small piece, that I doubt if anyone will put it down as copied.

It is a old news. But still i've provided a link. Vidyasagar's 'Kadhal Vandadum' heavily inspired from the first number film - olangal.

BGM's of IR is often lifted by some MDs, which gets unnoticed.
One instance is - the title BG music from the Movie Satya - aptly used in the famous song -'Kadaviul Paadhy Mirugam Paadhy'.

Third lift by YSR in Kaadhal Konden, after 'Nenjodu Kalandhadhu' and 'Manasu rendum'....this time it is, 'Kaadhal kaadhal'. Pretty blatant lift and a really vague source! Check out the original at http://www.iespana.es/i2fs/
