The song of IR you find similarity with VS's 'kaadhal vandhadhum kanniyin.."
is "Thumbi vaa nin thumbathaal oonjaalidaam.yes the movie is Olangal by
B.Mahendra.
Olangal was released in the 80s.
"Aur Ek prem kahani "came in mid 90s.
do you know what khalid mohammed of filmfare wrote on his review on this
song?
"this song is dangerously similar to Kaadhal rojavae..(that is hindi version of kaadhal rojavae enage nee engae)"
(btw roja was relaesed in early 90s).
------------------------
Have u heard VS's"Mizhiyariyaadhae "(Niram-malayalam) .it is very close to
Raaja's "oru raagam paadalodu paada thoondumae.."(ananda raagam)
Also VS's"penaae pennae nin kalyaanamai"(meesamadhavan-mal).this song blatantly
uses almost all the beats and that rhythm of the song"yaaru yaarodi unnoda purushan(arr-alaipaayudhae)

I dont find any similarity between "kaadhal vandhadhum" and any of the different versions of the Auto Raja song.
What am I missing????

Is 'Ale Ale' (Boys) inspired from 'Thoo cheez badi hai masth masth', a super-hit Hindi song of early 90s???
There was a talk that this Hindi song itself was copied from an Arabian song.

rajeshrs_tvm,
The part where SJ hums "la la laa lala.." at the end of the song and somewhere inbetween, might have given the speculation that it is similar to "kaadhal rojave.." where, there is similar humming by a female voice. Could be inspiration or just coincidence.

Recently in SUN TV's "Namma Neram" program, they displayed that "MAAN KUTTIYAE" song from "PRIYAMANA THOZHI" was similar to "KURUKKU SIRUTHAVALE" song from "MUDHALVAN".
What do you people think about it?

Happened to listen to " Deepangal Pesum " song from Devadhai (Nassers Movie , Music - IR). There is a chorus bit in this song ( "Muthu Muthu ..") which sounds very similar to ARRs Airtel tune. Have anyone of you noticed this before???

I find a strange similarity between Kadal Virus' "Vaanila tharum mozhi..." song's melody part and Dhool's "Aasai aasai ippozhudhu..." song's humming part: "La la laa la la laa, la la laa la la la laaa la laaaaaa"
A slight similarity, isn't it?

I have "NEWS"
I was just listening to "Club Mirchi" program on 98.3 FM Radio Mirchi in Chennai, when the RJ "Jimmy" just played the lines "SA RE GA NAE" and then immediately played "YE YE YE YEA" line from some english song. Well, so, ARR has started copying the tunes as well? Hmm... First, rythms, then tunes... oh!
I couldn't find out which song that was because of an unfortunate Power Cut before the song could be played. But, if you want to know specifically, you could just mail mirchijimmy@indiatimes.com ==> the e-mail ID of the RJ. Ask him for the song played at about 9.20 pm on 27th september.
If you do mail him, please post his reply here.
Thank you.

Dr. Rajsekhar,
Maan Kuttiye is a copy from Hindi Song, "Saavan ka Mahima or something". Particularly it is a blatant lift near the line "unkozhukozhu kannathai parthu".
May be kuruku siruthavalle is also an inspiration from Hindi song as it was a old song.

relax...the starting tune(4 notes to be precise) of SA RE GA ME is the same as eminem's without me. Nothing else is the same. You cant call this, copy nor inspiration. it is just the similarity of 4 notes. the whole song is different!!!

I had seen an English movie called "Beverly Hills Cop II" about a year ago and, when I first heard the theme song of the movie (the music theme), I felt it was very much similar to some other tune I had heard before, most probably in Tamil films.
Does anybody have any more info about this?

wrt californification, that is ofcourse not a copy. i know that you are reffering to the opening guitar piece....the style is similar, but all the chords are very very different. no match at all!!!...

btw, i would like to inform you that "the journey home" from bombay dreams is a fantastic case of inspiration from John Denver's Annie song. at first hearing, you wont notice it....cuz, it is a beautiful case of inspiration.

Saw both your posts. The Kaadhal Virus allegation sounds very flimsy...no direct inspiration. The Beverly Hills Cop theme you are talking about is called (afair) Axle F. Has been used in a Telugu movie starring Chiranjeevi. No known lift in tamil yet.

hi Karthik, please take note of the following :
Joureny Home from Bombay Dreams is beautifully inspired by John Denver's Annie song.
The DUDUK music piece from Warriors of Heaven and Earth, is inspired from Yanni's Prelude. It apparently has the same starting and the same sound, though the tunes are different.
Boys' SaReGaME starting 4 notes is the same as Eminem's Without Me.
Ale Ale also has the Untouchables Theme music in its interlude.
wrt this, you'll have to confirm with me. IR's Lajja Background score Intro Part1 seems to be inspired from harry Potter. and the Intro Part 2 consists of a piece which resembles Ramesh Vinayagam;s 'Enna Idhu' from Nala Damayanthi.
Lajja bgm tracks are available in www.raaja.com
Thanx....please update me, if I am correct.

Few more : The starting of "Pudhu Vellai Mazhai" from Roja, i mean the prelude, has a piano piece going on....that is definitely from "Electric Highway", by Sam Cardon, Kurt Beston . The piano in the background goes on even after the song starts for sometime.
Deva has ben heavily inspired by the song, "Hai Ram Aaaye" from Rangeela and used it in Hello. I think the song is "Indha nimisham". This is a case of heavy inspiration. Please check this out too. Thanx. DO reply.

Wrt to Lajja,
Please see the below facts of release dates.

Lajja released way before Harry Potter. So may be John Willams copied IR since he has done that before for SW:TPM.

As for Nala Damayanthi, Lajja was released about 2 years before the idea of Nala Damayanthi was conceived.
