Dear Friends,
Let us vote for 'Adi Rakkamma' from THALAPATHI as our choice for the World's Top Ten Songs poll conducted by BBC!
I am suggesting this song because if in case the BBC people listen to the nominated songs, they will feel knocked out on hearing our Maestro's 150 Vioins' Strings Ensemble!
Let us all do it at:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/us/features/topten/
Yours Always Musically,
Vijay.

a sensible guy
I dont know what ur moaning about, Rakkama isnt first cause it desrves it, its so obvious, it is on top cause of the ir fans whove been awake for nights on the net and voting in his favour, at least they feel ir get recognitiion through cheating! No one can argue with this!
Ofcourse there r better ir song, and better indian hits that rakkama!
So for all ir fans dreaming of ir world recognition... too bad u have to do it in a cheap way. what im saying is that arr fans never voted in bunch for people to recognize him, we just let arr's music talk. If u feel ir has stuff , then let his song do the talking, rather than his fan's mouse doing the talking!
get it?

hmmm,
I know better about IR's songs-I dont need lessons from you.I personally would have preferred andhi mazhai or aruna kiranam(guru) or poonkadhave to rakkamma.
The whole issue is principle-we back IR,we know his worth and we wish it to be recognised in a legal manner on the world stage-not like you pathetic bunch casting bogus votes.if ARR comes first, how will you proudly say this was gained thru rightful means?this is like bush getting presidency a couple of years back.
I have given you proof of your hyperacidity and 'superior incredulousness'in black and white.
''how -can- a -song -by -what- we -considered- a spent- force- can -come- first''sort of feeling is what I come thru the above postings.
advice-take deep breaths, say calm-calm-calm...-you will find peace washing over you.om shanthi shanthi....

mr hmmm, a think you must be a kid or a novice to the film world. you just cannot compare any person with ir . it is rediculous. ir used to play for 100 movies a year and you are comparing him with a person who has not even scored half of it all through his years.

whatever it is, a group of fans worked hard and got worldwide attention for their favourite composer. in the process they made world sit up and notice that tamil and tamil songs are very popular. Hats off to these guys. they made a mark in world music for a tamil song. by the end of the show, it may not be in no.1 place, but 'Adi Raakkamma' is no.1 today and the whole world is seeing it !

the bbc ad says that they accept snail mail(post) also. how about sending postcards ? i really wish a tamil song makes it to the top ten. this is a wonderful opportunity to push a tamil song which is well placed.

well well well..."a sensible guy. (@ 195.93.34.7)"
i dont care a damn to these bbc polls.
remember the earlier "star of the millenium poll"
won by amitabh bachchan. besides ab, govinda was there at no.6 too. clearly thats due too multiple votes from the same person(s).
there is provision for multiple postings from the same ip address or even the same email address. the fact that they are not checking for ip address or email shows that multiple postings are permitted per person.
afterall as there are lots of prizes up for grabs, dont be surprised to see even 1000 votes from a single person.
i have already voted about 500 times for "adi rakkamma". and will definitely vote for as much as i can.

Hmmmm,
your postings are becoming more and more pathetic-songs have been sent in from Africa(which clearly will not be my cup of tea)-do you mean to say those songs are worthless?again, your superiority complex is showing thru.what If BBC does not like rakkamma?they are not sitting judges over our musical tastes-they are conducting a poll only.if they wanted only songs they will like why hold a poll-they might as well select some songs by beatles and cher and stuff it down our throats.are you dumb or what?or were you dropped on your head when you were young?

Geeth, u could not have said it better. Thanks for seeing things in right perspective.
Maestro's fans & ever growing list of admirers have come together and paid a fitting tribute to IR's music by joining hands.
Even if by Dec 21, say the list gets doctored or engineered (god forbid), i wouldnt care a damn. The impact has already been created. [I could see that out of 100 visitors coming to my website featuring IR's songs, 90% came searching for rakkamma kaiyya thattu. And that too, these were people from all around the globe (i have the statistics). The site that usually had 30-40 visitors daily, has been having 120 new visitors per day on an avergae in the last one week !!!]
And if rakkamma does win, we can proudly say,"This song aint nothin...would you guys like to pick more dynamic & staggering ones from IR than this regular (by maestro's standards) pickle & appalam song?"
:-)) Mr.Steve Wright, tighten ur seat belt...IR's gonna rock you...

Well Admin, is it not good to have Rakkamma Kaiya Thattu as a MP3 file on the home page, so that people can download. I have an mp3 (poor quality) of 'Rakkamma', I am sure many others would. I guess I can upload it to your ftp server. (I tried logging in and it worked, am not sure if I can upoload though!).

Vel: which website is yours? pls give link. Other Fans: the point is IR song/s have to stay on top 123, so go ahead and give other songs also votes. So, gotta do what we've gotta do to win this poll! as u can see, even cliff richard fans went by a strategy, so it is clear there is poll fixing and manipulating goin on.... many votes from one person. otherwise how do you thin Bachchan won the poll? Not that he does not deserve it, but definitely there is a lot of enthu behind this and we've got to display that energy while it lasts. SO DON'T WALK, RUN (by the way, a favorite guitar tune) DON'T STOP, GO ON TOWARDS VICTORY!
ARR fans, vote for Rahman and let people all over the world hear his songs too. Only thing to end up feeling what is so different from their type of songs?!!! Rakkamma is definitely one of the most off-beat compositions of IR and of the world and so it is an excellent choice, THANKS TO VIJAY - what a decision of VIJAY!
So, get busy in the next 30 days and call mamas and mammiyar' to also vote. I've asked one upstairs aunty to create an email account and vote - she does not know typing as she was 50 years when the typewriter was invented... i believe her, but we've got to WIN. This is one of the best world-wide internet get-together stuff i am enjoying!
