AR Rahman's Tamil Blockbuster "BOYS"

Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Also; use this thread to discuss this album..

Here is what i found::

Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.

Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.

In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.

Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.

For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

  Thinking rationally, I dont think its not even a decent album. Originality is completely missing. ARR is no doubt a good composer. This is funny album ... thats it. He has given crap albums for sometime. Hope he recovers and gives good ones.

  if cant hear the resemblences in the beats n rhythm of BOYZ songs then its nt me who gotta meet with an ENT...ITS U BUDDY WHO HAS TO DO THAT.....
  
  An Inspired / Copied Song is an Inspired / Copied Song....no matter if it is scored by IR or ARR or YSR or VS or HJ or others....
  
  Well, i didnt deny the fac the BOYZ is good to hear but i was just trying to state that the SOUNDs are nothing new but inspired from XYZ Source....
  
  The only part that su**ks is that people stating bullsh**s like BOYZ is the album of the decade etc etc....defy BOYZ is one good album by ARR taking into consideration the recent CRAPS that he had been giving...and also, DEFY THE BEST ONE BY HIS STANDARDS AS WELL....when BOYZ is not even meeting his OWN HIGH STANDARDS....how can u say that BOYZ is the album of the DECADE>>>>>

  For those who think Boys is crap and will not be a success, all I can say is that I feel very sorry for you idli-eating lungi-tying roadside-shi*tting ass*holes!! You are just like the Rajas!! A bunch of sh*it-smelling dark freaks!! You deserve only the sh*it that ass*holes like IR, his family, HJ, Bharadwaj, Deva etc compose. Pity you b**ards.   A. R. Rahman's "BOYS" songs are a bunch of crap. This reminds me of a music director, Adithian, who directed the same type of music 5 years ago, and was out of the field. Now i'm thinking that Adithian could be better than A. R. Rahman. That's how bad these songs stink. The tune is horrible and he added terrible background music. It just seems a little too much. He adds whatever he can, and thinks its great. You can't just go overboard with things. You have to keep a limit on what you add, for example, the beat, and only then will it be good.

Can u give one gud reason... and MR.V u too can answer it.... according to me it has gr8 synchronisation, Orchestration, and a little bit of indian touch as well.... moreover it is the most energetic album done by ARR... i have no doubt in my mind that BOYS WILL DO TO ARR WHAT WORLD CUP'03 DID TO SACHIN TENDULKAR.......

  Might be the factor 'and a little bit of indian touch ' is the minus for the album. Atleast according to me. As had already told, if this is what youthfulness is then I'd rather stick on to MTV, VH1, BET!

  Once I was an all time fan of ARR...but now i've grown to like other people's songs as well as his. ARR's music hasn't really pulled me in as much as it used to. Are yall just afraid to tell the truth about things? Just because ARR is famous doesn't mean that whatever music he's able to pull out of the hat doesn' mean it's the best. And plus, this discusion is to help ARR in his music, NOT to get back at somebody and say that we're wrong. If you like his music then just say "I think that it's good" NOT by yelling and getting back at us. If we don't like a particular thing, then WE DON'T LIKE IT, YA HEAR?

  I agree with Bala's comment about everyone needing to realize that the other MD's are actually getting better. And so now it seems that ARR has to do more if he wants to be on top. His last few albums were just avg.They weren't chartbusters because peopel expect more out of him with the exception of parasuram his latest albums were good, but since peopel want more out of him they were not hits.I bet if HJ or YSR made those songs they would have benn hits.
  
  I think now that ARR has shown the way everyone has benefited.Because now other MD's are also churning out good songs.
  
  But i also strongly feel that BOYS is above average in its own way.It's different.

  u sound entirely different in this thread.well if ur thinking ARR to be compared with YANNI,PHIL COLLINS, etc., then with due respect i ask him to get out of TFM and go try out his luck in competing with them.
  moreover we do wish IR to be compared with BEETHOVEN,MOZART,BACH,TCHAIOVASKY,VIVALDI etc., we do need him in TFM too.hence he is getting on with his nxt project THIRUVASAGAM IN SYMPHONY and simultaneously SANDIYAR too.hats off RAJA.we love u for wat u r - the greatest musician this land has ever produced.

  i completely accept balas comments. you cant appreciate blindly. some songs might not be pleasing for others. you have to respect. you cant be fanatic blindly. of recent all his albums are below average which you all know but not willing to accept.whatever you say about IR, its not going to hurt since he has given more hits than anyone. Now albums are sold because of economy and raise in living standards. even now the old songs and till 1995 you can say people here as they are pleasing.

  Boys is not a great album as we expected.Comparetively better than ARR's flop.
  
  ARR lost his value now.Go and listern to the albums ROJA,KADALAN,INDIAN etc.. and tell me if BOYS is really good.
