I want to know what ragam the songs 'inagaLilE enna inam peNNinam' and 'vaLamAna bUmiyil sugamAna kalaigaL' are based on. (These two songs will be included in my home page http://www.m59.big.ac.at/~grama ).

devotional song, sung by Dr. Seerkazhi?
This is not a film song i guess.

Is it subha panthuvarali? Somebody can confirm

"Maname thottachinungi" is a wonderful song based on Mohanam. I don't think "ennavale ennavale" is based on any pure raagam.
Not sure about others.

Sathiya Keerthi,
As Bhava has already mentioned, the song is from Thottaa chinungi. Philip-Jerry endru oru australian based MD's music potrukkaanga. I think they didn't score any other movie after this. Except for this song, other songs are not that spectacular, IMO. The movie is a good one though.
Nice performance by Raghuvaran, Revathy & karthik. Let me stop digressing.

Regarding my earilier query about the ragas of a few songs,....thanx everyone who replied.....
Mr Rajaram..you felt that "maname thottachinungi" was based on Mohanam....but one can find the clear presence of "Ni"...(i,e,N3 as found in mayamalavagowlai...)

I read in another thread about"Ennai thaalatta varuvaalo"...thanx to Sathya keerthi from NUS..

What about Uyireh Uyireh..in BomBay...and also Oru mani adittal....in Nerukku Ner.?

It's a film song; such liberties are taken usually. The mohanam scale is clear from the pallavi itself, don't you think so?

'vedam nee' and 'sridevi' sounds very similar to my ears.In fact you can start with one song and end up singing the other. Both of them starts with
a slow charanam and has a faster second charanam.
