Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....
Also; use this thread to discuss this album..
Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

Forget about the movie. Getting the censorship done in Andra and releasing it here as a dubbed film is just CHEATING! It is unbelievable that the guy who talks about bribery, social injustice in his movies doing this. He is just after money, that's it. No principles in life, hmmm

"I also appreciate Selvaraghavan for his two of-beat films. However I feel that Selvaraghavan could have refined some overly shocking scenes. Like u dont needa kid marning sound to suggest she has been sexually abused. "Aaah vallikuthu" was just toooo cheap and shocking."
Were you (over)shocked? That is the purpose of that scene. It was not meant for enjoyment, I am sure nobody would. Even in theatres, couple of people were calling that guy with names. But in the next screen, when vinodh hits the management team, the whole theatre was in applause. That is the impact of the previous scene. More over, that sequence is the bone for the whole movie and explains why vinodh turns into a psycho. I think you need to learn how to see a movie, dude.

i saw boys yesterday. i thoroughly enjoyed the movie. it was silly, irreverent and quite funny. the scenes that are being talked about didn't make that much of an impression at all, and are quite insignificant compared to the overall movie. the movie deserves a PG-13 rating.
i loved the narration and screen play. the camera work was excellent. the way the scene fast forwards through unnecessary montage is great.
the music was pretty impressive. very well done. boom boom and secret of success are bound to be big hits.

Very funny, nice one!!

bb,
PG-13? ... did u see BOYS or BABIES?! :) ... illa nakkal adikkareengala?!!
actually the movie, 'Babies Day Out' had a 15+ rating when it was played on Star Movies! :)
MusicIsLife,
very true...the movie must be watched without parental guidance!

guys,
PG-13 rating does not mean that it is a movie for under children under 13... It means that children under 13 must watch it with parental guidance. i.e. some material in the movie may not be suitable for children.
btw, it is not that relavant in india coz there is no pg-13 concept in our rating system...

dude...The UA rating (given to Boys) in India corresponds to PG-12.

to helper:
There is no such thing as a PG-12. There is G(which is for everyone) PG (that means parental guidance suggested-for like kids 8 and under) PG-13, and R which is restricted to those under 17 unless with a parent.
The rating system in india is so messed up.The censor board tends to play favorites all the time.

Krishna...I'm reproducing my previous post below which should hopefully clarify things.
Also, the MPAA (censor board of hollywood films) is no better when it comes to double standards. They tend to treat sex more harshly than violence.

Oh man! At last I am happy without seeing Boys because it just revealed the real talent of Shankar. He is not fit to be a film director, he is just fit enough to sell muruku in beach. Oh my god, the entire tfm is going behind people like him.

This is to know for who claim about copying the story of TI and Boys. TI audio was released before dheena and also it was supposed to release before dheena.Due to to financial problem it came late. Shankar was doing that time nayak(mudalvam). How the damn says that selvaragavan copied shankar. Finally shankar followed selvaragavan's footstep. I appreciate ARR since he left without doing BGM.It is really a warning to shankar.

well,
its very common for all the fans to go after any one director if one of his movies has something different...(or in others words termed as vulgar).
well this is the same person who has given us gentleman, indian, and mudhalvan.. radical thinking in movies to be precise.
i see many ppl in this forum saying shankar is not fit to be director etc..( as if these guys have directed superhit movies and are out to assess others).
i am pretty sure when shankar comes up with another of his brilliant movies(like indian) in the future, these ppl will be surely there to say, shankar is one of the best.
i am aware of the notion that when its accolades the world will be there to share it with u but when its criticism then everyone will turn god to slam the person who has made the mistake.
agreed, shankar might have missed the plot this time, but if you dont have the patience to bear it, shut the f*ck up and get lost.
i am not writing this as ARR fan or i am not trying to defend saying shankar is right in this movie. i am just asking u guys to have some sense bfore trying to bash up others.
