What was your idea of "First Movement" for a theme like Shadow? I liked it. But you must humanize otherwise it will sound monotonous.

Aditya

Easwar,
I like how the way you have different intruments/tunes in Left and Right channel.
Greatly enhances the stereo perception.
I also liked the way the song builds up in the end.
It'll definitely be nice to hear a good variation.
Jay.

Aditya, Jay;
Thanks for checking it out. Was worried if it was too bad to be commented on :o)
"movement" was a fancy word I used to say that it is the first part of the piece. I didn't want to build it as a rhythm based song like "The Mist". I wanted it to be like a western classical arrangement, but not exactly like it since our classical music has least respect for harmonics.
Yes, i am planning variations, mostly changing the scales, building a "raaga maalika" of sorts.
"Shadows..." is more of a philosophical idea of the darker part of a human mind. More like the dance of "Tamasic" qualities in a person, and how it mitigates to a "Satwic" mind through sustained changes of moods in the song... :o)
Would like more opinions from other learned Gurus too.
Thanks,
Eswar

Throw a stone in a water...then ripples form a pattern and generate one from each other and progressive...from anypoint to anypoint it will maintain as though it started just there...
Riple Pattern...
Tha Ki Ta
Tha Ki Ta
Tha Ki Ta
Tha Ki Ta - Tha Ka Dhi Mi
Unfinished Test Song of Jay starts with...Early Reflections...
Sa Ga .
Sa Ga Ma Sa Ga Ma
Ga Ma Pa Ma
Ga Ma Ga Sa
and progresses until it hits a rock...that's where the music stops...then another set of ripples form continuing the same pattern...
Now "Jay Good" sentense make sense right:-))

Can you give details of Prashant - Is he a flutist? My best wishes to the Artists performed especially ( guitar aka keyboard and especially flute )in this song. I can tell you that the artists and people involved in the making process of this song are GIFTED talents. In future, if you still live up with your current music interest, you all can come up with a very wonderful song.
Regards,
Aditya

Vocal Part is very Good and soothing. I like it at many places of the song...best part of this song is the flute bit "ma pa ga ma re ga sa ga".
You can consider the core of creativitiy in this song is really starting from 5:35 and then till end...I can't tell you how glad I was to appreciate the vocals starting from 5:50 till the end...harmony is really very good in this section. I like the flute ending at the end...But till 5:35 I was not able to appreciate it that much...as i already heard best of rahman in that style.
Regards,
Aditya

Good stuff. Flute is great..thats one instrument you can never play realistically with a keyboard.
The track is too long though.

Hello Friends:
Finally the day has come...I met with VSN and Shekar...We discussed a lot about counterpoints, harmony and chromatic chords in particular. Best part is that I have video recorded one of it's kind - VSN played Kalyani adlib -> Superb and he's just GREAT...it's better than an
Autograph:-)) I told him to visit this thread sometime. Shekar played cello parts of "En Solla Pogirai Song"...Mind Blowing. Most of the discussion went on composition process in particular. Personally I felt it was very useful.
bb, they are leaving to india tomorrow from Cincinnati. Hence no concerts here.
A lot of interesting incidents that surprised VSN while playing for IR was also discussed. Shekar also spoke about ARR and his string
arrangements -> Amazing Incidents. Whenever I can, I will post them.
Regards,
Aditya
