Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....
Also; use this thread to discuss this album..
Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

hey dorai,
who in this world needs ur meaningless conclusion...jus bcoz u saw some songs in Sun TV doesnt give u an opportunity to conclude. if possible do one good thing by buying the cassette, listening to it and concluding, atleast u r helping the music industry. if u say boys to b a failure u r not fit to b a music lover and u know nothing abt music. neways to let u know boys jus rocks.

Boys certainly kicks butt compared to ARRs earlier flops. "Girlfriend" is one number that stands out... it introduces a nice 'Rock' feel to tamil film music with the guitar leads and interludes. Great guitar work. Hypnotic rhythm. The other numbers too have a techno feel. Certainly proves ARR isn't running out of steam or creativity... he seems just the opposite.

BOYS is truly awesome!
I would rate it as the best album this year followed by HJ's Saamy.
Now I cannot wait to hear Thendral by VS, Thennavan by YSR, Sandiyar by IR and the Mani Ratnam film by ARR.
ARR made some dull lacklustre music with Udhaya and Parasuram but Boys deserves this praise and this comes from a fan who objectively praises good music.

ARR's songs sound monotonous. He can better retire from the film industry as he is being toally outclassed by so many new music directors.

Here u'll find most of the losers posting abt ARR in an IR thread. These orgical few have vanished or may be are still hanging in newtfmpage 'silently' and secretly and cowardly reading all the posts. As soon as ARR vanished, they vanished too. The even once created some special thread or webpage of ARR's 10year anniversary but that too has gone into phantom zone just like them and their fav MD. I have a feeling u'll be one of them in time to come too because there is just nothing to talk abt the limited impactless music of ARR. U just won't have anything to talk after some time(unlike IR thread which have so many intelligent and intellectual exchanges going on there forever).
So pls don't go around being a fool that u r. Wake up or at least read all the old responses in so many threads!#
I(and many here) would appreciate when you involve in a discussion, you don't run away like that.

hi ambleen,
why dont you wake up from your dream, and find out that IR down and out, and ARR is the ruler of TFM. pls dont go around being a fool that u r. Wake up or atleast read all the old news paper article for the past ten years and then you will realize that you have been making a fool out of yourself by thinking that anyone but you foolish die hard IR fans actually listen or discuss about his music.
I(and many here) would appreciate when you wake up from your dream, and face the reality.
