SAW VIRUMANDI

I saw Virumandi by paying extra.
Why KAMAL..? Why u proved all that told by K.Balachander in Virumandi VIZHA.
It is better to have directors like BHARATHAN ( DEVAR MAHAN ) to deliver a good interesting movie.
Virumandi was very raw and not able to sit in the second half.
Dont confuse the audience with ur confused state of mind.
Iam UPSET and my friends ridicule me as a fan of yours.

  I believe that Sivaji to be the greatest.... Kamal is great and so is Rajini... Poeple should be aware of old sivaji hits like Verapandiakattabomman, uthama puthiran, paasamalar,pavamannippu,padikathamedhai, etc etc.... Dudes - these movies are classics(evergreen).
  even the late movies like Nan vazhavaippen, kavariman, annaan en koil may be classified as classics.....
  My point is that Sivaji us unique - his films are beyond generation,fashion limits etc....

  I too think like Vatsa and feel that your comments are little far-fetched. saying Sivaji is lone sun in solar system is nothing but a reflection of your affinoity to your prime child-hood adulthood during which "most" of your favorite things materialise and your mind refuses to ackowledge anything that comes aftar that era as better.
  
  I can and will say that Kamal is an actor who has done nothing less than Sivaji has done. my personal opinion is that(to put it in a shipwreck captain's sense) I will give a lifeboat that holds only one man to Kamal because "I" think Kamal will be a better asset to the world than Sivaji. But again that is just my opinion.
  
  
  There are so many people who like Kamal. DO not show some stunts here saying 'et us start a forum and discuss who general public will like and al that. I dont care for general public opinion. BEcause I know this the same public that can make Nayakan a hit and also Thirumalai a hit! This is the same public that can make anbe sivam a flop and dhool a hit!
  
  So the common average you are talking abt is sooo fuzzy to me as it is. It is how much artists break boundaries that "surprises" me that counts
  
  I say the same think in ARR vs Others arguments. Nobody surprises me more than ARR when it comes to music. But I dont go out saying stupid things like stop comparing ARR to others becos he is one sun in solar system and all that. becos I know by saying thus I will be hurting a lot of others wo like other artists.

  I agree wth ur expectations factor though. I have already put that concept in a cricketing sense. Virumandi is a case of sachin scoring a century. But some people(not all) scold sachin for a unenthusiastic century. Same way with this

  There is no necesssity for comparing.
  When Mattu - vandi (shivaji) was invented it was great. Subsequentelt when other things such as Cycle, car and now Ford Icon (Kamal etc.,) were made they are great !
  
  For the comparing personalities, can you sit through "Pasa malar" now ? Please touch your heart.
  Given an option to watch "Pasa malar" or a recent movie which one you will prefer ?
  The bygone is bygone. To compare Shivaji with son , moon and pluto is meaningless!

  when ever i watch , i feel like he is overacting.... like prestige padmanathan i was watchiing it i was soo annoyed by his acting.... i feel like sivaji over acts in lot of his movies... like on stage ... guess how it is old days... as for as kamal... no one was ever been there like and never willl.. guy was a hearthrob in his younger age.. he got the looks always ..kept himself in shape.. very athletic.. some stunts he pulls are crazy... he sings very welll and all diff accents and voices... he was teh best dancer during his age... on top of that he won 4 national awards... i wonder why sivaji didnt win any??? now this LEGEND and ICON is shinning as a great director.. what more can u ask for.... i really dont wanna say how many of these can sivaji pulls of ... for me Kamal is a legend but even for my legend sivaji is the IDOL .. for that i respect him..

  National awards...even you can get it friend. MGR was the first tamil actor to win the national awards for Rikshakaran. Why Kamal couldn't win any international award? Sivaji won it in 1959 - the Asia-Afro Award.....stop this nonsense of comparing anyone with Sivaji.
  
  Kannan and the rest of of sensible guys, please just ignore these Kamal fans. They are just frustrated with flop after flop from their hero...now even Virumandi...is crashing after the initial hype!

  Everybody is talking about Arul and expecting a lot. What sort of role is vikram playing? Also, the other big expectation is for Maniratnam & Surya's movie. What is Surya's character?
  
  Will Vikram win the national award for Pithamagan. It will be great if he wins after giving 3 mega hits in the same year which are commercial films. I don't think anyone else has given this combination other than Sivaji. That is good acting and also big commercial hits.

  In one theatre, P.Saravanan, Kovil and Periya Anna are sharing the daily 4 shows... each running atleast once a day. In the next theatre, Virumaandi is running 4 shows a day.
