  Thanks for the detailed research and a balanced post. A singer's voice is like a person's handwriting. If it is bad/illegible you are less motivated to read the entire treatise. IMO, and strictly IMO, I do not find Kavitha's voice attractive. In order to preserve the decency of our discussion let me leave it at that.
  
  Even if Narinder Chanchal imitated note for note, sangathi for sangathi iLaya nilaa pozhigiradhu, it will still not be the same. And if I was going to offer an opinion on that, I would not go about saying NC's scale is higher than SPB's, NC has sung in more Bhagwathi Jaagran than SPB, Nobody can sing "songs around the fire" beter than NC, and other such irrelevant comments (No! I am not accusing you of making such ridiculous comments, but you know who has) :-)

  And you praveen, who gives a damn what Kumar Sanu says abt chitra..all know that he is a hopeless sumban. In fact you have ridiculed him in one of your previous postings saying he is the worst.   Your post was "enlighting". Oh my god, u are an ocean of (knowledge about) music! Let me tell u AVR, I have nothin against Chitra. She is just fabulous!I just love many of her songs. Eg:
  1.Anjali Anjali pushpaanjali
  2.Kannalane
  3.Yeh haseen vadiya
  4.Tunturu(from kannada movie "Amrutavarshini". I think this even got her a national award.)
  5.Payalay chunmun chunmun
  6.Raina beeti jaaye which she sang at the RDB tribute. A pleasure to the listeners ears!
  7.Hum bhool gaye (Aks)
  8.Jahan piya (which she sang only bcos Lata had date problems. But I really dont think lata could have sung better!)
  9.Aji suno suno (Ziddi)
  10.Aaj raat ayega maza("Silsila hai pyar ka")
  
  ..........you name it & u got it actually! The last mentioned song is a must for all chitra fans!
  
  U can clearly see that I have never ridiculed chitra the way "you know who" and his supporters have insulted kavita. I clearly admit that even I am a Chitra fan(i hate that word 'fan'.In future i shall use "admirer" instead!) I have never ever said that Chitra sounded bad in the tamil version of "tu hi re", she was awesome! The only thing I tried to say is that kavita has sang in a higher pitch! It is quite evident & any person can gauge that kavitas pitch if far higher(I never said chitra's version is in low pitch, but for sure it is comparitively lower)And as far as "flaming" is concerned, I have never flamed at anyone before actually being flamed at!
  
  It is obvious that what I have posted is my opinion! No one can say who is better btwn ksc & kk as a "techical fact" If that could be done, I dont think this forum would ever exist! This pure logic & even a stupid fool can understand this! I really heartily hope that this satisfies all the people who think my views were arrogant. (except the insatiable ofcourse) Pls, i was pulled into such a situation!
  
  Now coming to my placing of kavita above Lata, Asha, PS, KSC,SJ,VJ etc.. It is only bcos I dont find the others songs "releaving". Now, let me explain the word "releaving". At times when i have a head ache & have to study or do some other work, i take a break & listen to a kavita song say "Dheeme dheeme gaaun" at a low volume on my walk/discman/comp. Nothing, not even a saridon is as "releaving".This is the sole reason which makes me place kavita above all others! And ofcourse i have all the rights to give my rating!
  Here the comparison is not as easy as btwn Narendta Chanchal & SPB. How ridiculus & absurd that people are illogical enough to link the two situations.
  
  And AVR i would love to be in contact with u over mail. U are as i said "enlightening". Could u pls send me a mail so that we can further keep in touch? And, thanks a tonne for those links.   and u lols, Not that i care abt what the idiot KS says about KSC. But I just quoted that incident to say that even chitra at times does make herself a joke of herself, but that doesnt mean she is a bad singer. U should be reasonable enough to apply the same logic even in Kavitas case IMO.

  antha chitra song enan range, enna smooth.
  Though no one can say anything techinical about ks and ksc we all know it 100% techically.
  
  Regarding singing in/on/with/higher pitch i think ksc can sing well in lords pitch while Ks can sing well in perth pitch, it is all pitch and only picth, pitchtungeega..ponga..finally, thanks for educating me,

  Can somebody educate me on what the word pitch means, as it applies to music?
  I also want it to be "revealed" that while I may be at least "relieved" of the ignorance about pitch, but do not know if I can go to the extent of being "releaved" :-)

  Pray tell me, what are the following?
  
  1.Chitra can never sing an open opera.
  2..Chitra can never sing hindustani classical numbers as superbly as kavita.
  
  3.Jeans.Do you think Chitra could sing that better? Chanceless!!
  4.Beleive me, at that pitch Chitra would have sounded wolves!
  
  5.Chitra cant even think about singing the low pitched lines "Ishq par zor nahi....." from 'tu hi tu'in Dil Se.
  6.Chitra can never manage such an nasal voice.
  But in comparison with Kavita, She looses!
  
  
  
  I want to set the records straight. I have never claimed to be a fan of KK. However, in my posts in this thread, if one goes through carefully, one will gather that I have NOT ridiculed KK. All along, I have been ridiculing Praveen for his conclusions, that's all!! :-) :-)
