pavathaarini/NeetyaShree whos the best??

I see many people praise neethyashree but how much shes better compared to pavathaarini?Pavathaarini has the most innocent,fresh voice among the newsingers today, whereas neethyashree know only to shout. Listen to 'kadal meethu' or 'kanmaneekku vaaltu chollum', pavathaarini is excellent.
Please let me know your opinions

  Nithyashree mediocre singeraa? Appadinna TFla irukkura nerayaa singers padu mosamaana singersa?:-))))) Nithyashree is a very very good singer. Maybe, in playback, she is not in the same grade of PS, SJ and Chitra. But, she definitely is a very very good singer. Also, Sujatha comes a little closer to Chitra and she cannot belong to the same league as Anupama or Subha. She has got a sweet voice and I'll include her in the same league as Chitra. Harini also sounds good in a number of songs.
  
  Geetha : I think Minmini was introduced by IR. But, she became popular only after 'chinna chinna aasai'.

  I never compared Bhava with NithyaShree.
  
  ARR has talent, no doubt. He has the habit of introducing a new singer in every movie or the other just to make the song sound new and different. To name a few, in his first 7 years he has introduced female singers like Nithya Shree, Harini, Mahalakshmi, Anupama, Anuradha Sriram,Subha (who has no sense of Neither the Tallam nor the language). On the male singers he has introduced Hariharan, Unnikrishnan, UnniMenon, Suhkwinder Singh, Udit Narayan, Shankar Mahadevan, Appache Indian Srinivas, Shahul Hameed. Did anyone of us were longing for to hear Tamil Songs sung (rather murdered) by a Hindi Singer. But for the exception of Hariharran and Unni MENON I don't see any of the above singers are of Cine Play Back quality. Why dump the TFM with so many bogus singers who are of Track Singing quality as real playback singers. IMHO, none of his female singers are of cine playback quality. Is there a need for so many new singers to make his songs look new and fresh ?. I guess that by itself speaks for lack of variety and depth of his compositions.
  
  On the Contrary, IR in his prime days from 1977 till 1993 has given so many songs with just a few female singers like SJ, Chitra and Swarnalatha. On the male singers he pretty much used only SPB, KJY, MV, Jeyachandran and MANO. During 16 Years of his prime time he has used only say around 10 singers in total and has created songs which are even now as fresh as any new song. Out all all these singers only Mano, Chitra and Swarnalatha are new introducts of IR.
  
  I leave it to you folks to draw the conclusion.
  
  BTW: Sujatha was introduced by IR in his second movie "Kavikuil" when she was I guess 8 years old.

  I agree, but he did not continue giving more chances the moment he realized that they cannot deliver to his expectations.
  
  Arun Mozhi is one exception, probably because he is a Flutist in IR's troupe and has his voice resembling KJY and Jeyachandran a little bit (and is readily available). Honestly, I did not like initially IR promoting Mano. But Mano, has improved after sometime and is now a good playback singer.

  Ranji Barot etc.

  --- do you know there background, do you know thier training, do you know about thier guru.
  Without anyknowlegde or facts you just cannot downgrade them. You curse them just bcos ARr introduced him, since ARR overthrew IR you are jelous and angry with him, You are not ready to hear his music. This anger makes you deaf. This applies to many IR fans here.

  - i think we're currently in the TFM page - which stands for Tamil Film Music 'i believe' rather than Carnatic Music Page.
  - In Film Music which ultimately reaches the santhu and ponthus 'sruthi,thalam,pitch' - ithu ellam kilo enna vilai? -
  so Tamil Film Music is for the Mass and not for Class.
  - when comparing two singers why go for their family backgrounds - one goes on to say "maternal & paternal" are carnatic jeevi..s - other says 'Family kae sruthi varaathu?'
  - let the comparisons be straight forward on the singers - ultimately the family background fight has changed the course of the thread to ARR Vs IR.

  Personally I am a fan of IR, but ARR is also very talented and we have to accept the fact as is. One thing I hated with IR during his period was using SPB/Janaki combo for all his songs.
  Young talented people like Harini,NS,UnniMenon/Krishnan/ were all introduced by ARR and they do have musical background.
  TFM is not a single commodity of IR and also SPB /Janki were also not the only singers in the world. as you excpect fresh heroines/heroes for acting in movies, you should also welcome new MD,singers, technicians etc. Will you accept JayChitra or Sumithra dance for Kannodu Kanbadellam or anyother song now.
  Also Geetha I cannot talk in depth about Ragam,Thalam, Pallavi, I also know that Ragams are not a commodity of single person,and anybody can give different versions of it by adding flavours.
  but it should be in such a way, people cannot identify it easily or an other version of the song should not come to mind while listening it.
  For that fact both his songs, Minsara Poove and Sowkiyama, brings some old songs immediately.I dont want to get in to the details in this forum now.

  Hello again
  Just making some corrections.
  
  Sujatha started singing at the age of 10. At 13, she was introduced to IR and sang her first song, Kaadhal oviyam KandEn kanavO nanavO. Before that, from the age of 10, she used to sing with KJY on his stage programs. She was popular in Kerala because of these programs she did. Ironically, Chithra, used to go to these programs too, as a spectator. Anyways, both of them can certainly be grouped in the same category. As experience wise in singing, they both started at the same time, so it's the same. But to be fair to Chithra, she certainly went higher than Sujatha in terms of Karnatic musical knowledge, Musical education, and in the film industry as well. Sujatha only started studying music after doing film songs.
  
  Information on Sujatha can be found in the audio section at Indiadirect. There are plenty of threads here for information on Chithra. Or else just as me:-)
  
  Both these singers are well ahead of both PT and NS, when talking about TFM. So please lets not start levelling off two ladies who treat each other like sisters.
