  Shankar Mahadevan song Dippu kumari is really irritating. The way he says Baba... is annoying. I couldnt imagine how ARR could compose that kind of song. How could Rajini approve this song?

  in fact that was the 1st song that caught my attention..
  it sounded gud even in the real audio we heard.

  WN: I had to hunt for your post. There are some people who just post for the sake of bashing ARR. I would recommend ignoring those gnana sooniyams!!! Which songs did YOU like ? (again I am not asking which songs are good in Baba-i have seen too much on that in this thread).
  
  I liked Maya Maya because of its Catchy tune, it follows the same sandham as the song from One two ka four song - Haye Dil Ki Bazi Laga (Alka Yagnik, Sonu Nigam) , even though it is in a different raga.
  
  I also liked Vetri kodu which has shades of yaman kalyan raga like "Varaha nadikarai oram" in sangamam.
  
  The baba title song was ok but not as good as the above two. Rahman has tried bhangara (probably influenced by his hindi projects like TLOBS etc) but I dont know how it will look for a Rajini song on screen. But on a review of the music alone, its an average song only.
  
  Baba Kichu and Rajiyama did not impress me too much (but that could be just me!!!)
  
  Your thoughts?
  
  I already heard curses feeling all elated about the album in total. So I was just curious to know your opinion on this movie.

  I am really surprised about hearing first time and liking after 10th time kinda statements. If one album is so good, why do you need to hear 25 times to like it. Is it like Whiskey/Brandy. You do not get "mappu" on first glass then keep pouring inside till you feel the real "mappu". What does it mean? "Sarakku Sariyille athanale immediate mappu varala". Is it not an identical situation here.

  i am not an arr or rk fan..but i listen to most of the tamil songs..i am not tamilan..
  
  but the truth is babas music is disappointment. dippu kumari sung by shankar mahadevan is a bad song..wht arr trying to be the follower of dheler mohandi ..please if he want to get out from tamil and want to do some thing hollywood..go ahead ..wht just reworking his old tunes and put in to english....i think only song tht u'll like may be babakichachu ...

  Nice to see your message. I was fully occupied listening to BABA. So far, I have listened to 47 times and I am able to like 3 songs so far. Give me some more days, I will post my review after I become liking all the songs.

  after 10 or 15 tiems hearing. According to this theory All the MDs in tamil field are geniuses..
  
  First he takes ENOROMOUS time to compose just one song. Don't you think it should sound good on the first listen? Why does it have to heard 25 times?

  any song can be feel good in a movie...especially if they visulize the song well..then all the people will likw it..it happens to every body's songs ..deva,ysr,kr,vidya,sirpi all the peoples worst songs will be good in a movie ..but in a musical fact bab is a disappointment ...u'll like it in the movies ..but in music words the songs are bad except 1 or 2 okkay compostions ..just wasting ur time and money

  i wud never dismiss nagesh as a comedian......dats wat hes BEST known for......KB was one director who utilised him to the fullest extent....dats dif......wat i meant was there is dat no other mainstream comedian wud be able to do wat he did!

  Expectations belied??? No!
  Dippu Dippu may not be a typical rajni opening number but a bangra style kiddie stuff is different and already an instant hit.
  Kitchu Kitchu hears ordinary in the first but will be demanding rewinding.
  Rajyama ... mmm kaalathin kattayam!

  Can anyone retrieve the music comments for Padayappa...(it was told the worst of Rajni songs) and recollect its stupendous success? After 25 yrs of cine experinece do you think Rajni doesn't know what to offer. Instead of lamenting, brockbating just get into the "Maya" world and Chay(a)ungo in your bed. Or you will have to spend sleepness nights if you want to brood further. All Rajni fans, the real critics know there are many pseudos out there.

  usually songs can be generally divided into 2 groups 1. which are likeable instantaneosly and others which need some repeated listening (usually 5-6 times for me).
  but even an hcarrf likes only 3 songs after listening to it 47 times, one can conclude few things from this, a).free or unlimited internet connection b)good quality cassette(47 times!!)
  c)jobless? d)pity his/her partner (kodumai)
