Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

grow up man... people have other things to do too, just like you yourself might have had, due to which you didnt reply. so dont go around shouthing that people have run away and that they are hiding. so i am taking back the first line, cos i dont want to be like you.
now coming back to the topic... it looks like you still have no clue as to what to say abt boys with any proof what so ever. i have got some more though... if you have time go check out madras plus review of boys.

Hey cc to you... prove it mannnnn.. just dunt bluff... okay tell me if IR composes a song in "Kaanada raaga", then will you say that it is a copy from carnatic songs?? .... same way, Pop, Rock, Metal, Rap have some definite sounds... so if you hear those sounds in ARR's songs then it doesent imply that it is a copy.... get me the songs where ARR has copied the "Exact Tune"... but beware i'll get you many songs copied by IR too....

Boys-Music Review
I have had a feeling that we as Indians want to ape the west in all walks of life.
Nothing can re-inforce this idea better than the few pics on the net that I saw of the
movie boys. Boys with gel on their hair, in cool poses and branded attire. Looks like
this movie is the making of a boy band similar to Nsync and BSboys.
Keeping that in mind if you listen to the songs, you would feel that ARR has done a
glove-that-fits-the-hand job.
If you put it in perspective the songs are boy bandish with pop/hip-hop/rap
styles. If you listen to the lyrics they are as shallow as shallow can be; another pointer
that this movie is for the teenage audience. I am guessing one of the characters must be
a rapper, at least that would justify the abundance of rap in almost every song. Personally,
I am not a big fan of rap...so I felt that some of the songs would have sounded better
without them.
To me three songs stand out. Dating is a very catchy song and is a fusion of sorts...like
the male lead would sing the entire charanam in english and the female lead would answer it
in tamil. Also the melody in parts sounds very carnatic. Vasundra sings well..and some of
the lines she sings make the song all the more enjoyable.
Boom Boom sound like indipop...what with Adnan singing and all. Again a very infectious
tune...which keeps popping up in your head all the time. The sad part is you can't
understand half of the lyrics...Adnan is made to sing words like "kayulankadai"..so go figure.
Is this the first instance of a pakistani singing tamil??
Secret of success is again a neat composition. The song might sound a little haphazardly
put together at first but I then found that everything works well in this song. The song
actually flows beautifully and for once I liked the lyrics. The high-point are the lines after
"reach for the stars". Lucky Ali has sung this one with the other usual suspects of the ARR gang.
Ale ale sound very familiar and Girl Friend I thought was an average song. It did not do anything
for me even after a couple of hearings.
Break the rules is "iraichal" music at its best and of vali's lyrics less said the better.
ARR has once again "broken the rules" and boundaries of tamil music. If Shankar has done his part
, which there is a good chance he did, then TFM is going to see a new trend.

I enjoyed all the songs in my first hearing itself and after a long time-may be after Alaypayuthe and Kandukondaen-I am listning to the songs of Boys more often. One sad part is the lyrics which are most of the time not clearly heard even when I listen in my CD walkman.Any way at this age of 53 I am enjoying songs of Boys with same fun that I listen Backstreet Boys and Westlife.

Too much of english in the lyrics makes the songs hard hard to digest!. But Girl friends venum is a chart buster all the way, with the way it has been rendered by Karthik

ARR's RAHMAN MUSIC IS STALE. HIS MUSIC HAS BECOME EVER PREDICTABLE. M0ST OF HIS TUNES FOLLOW WESTERN MELODIES. IF I EVER WANTED TO HEAR ENGLISH SONGS, I WILL TUNE TO ENGLISH SONGS.

KarthikS,
Could you verify and give a verdict on my below statement:
"Paalpooley" starting is similar to "Nattukorru Seidhi solla" from Anbesivam.
Am I only feeling like that or others could also see the similarity? Just want to know.
