Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

There really isnt that many english words except for the dating song why do u guys complain so much
"To be a Star; we'll show you how; reach for the skies; and, never never give it up"
The above is from "Secret of Success". I'm sure you know. This is just one example.
Please understand that I'm not complaining. I only expressed my opinion about the songs - although I find them good to hear, I'd have expected more thamizh words in some of the songs. I'm not even complaining about the choice of singers because they can pronounce the english words clearly than the tamil words - meaning, the lyrics are more english than thamizh and the choice of singers was appropriate. Of course, not all the songs - some of them. It is not that I don't enjoy these songs - I do; very much. Maybe, these lyrics are written for the situation and the music. However, "excess use of english words in lyrics" should not become a trend. That is my concern.
There are other songs with english lyrics too stop complaining
Why should I even worry about other songs with english lyrics? Aren't we talking about "Boys" songs here?
do not approve of the "excess of english lyrics" but how many times must people say this
I cannot check all the old responses and find out if people have already mentioned this (although I thought some people must have). I just expressed my opinion.

Why should I even worry about other songs with english lyrics? Aren't we talking about "Boys" songs here? If you are a regular forumer and saying that you don't see many "complaints" about other songs with english lyrics - I'm not a regular here; I used to be but not anymore; Since I was expecting a super hit from ARR and found "Boys" to be interesting, I thought I'd post about it. Recently, of the songs I like, I found some "Boys" songs to have more english words.

Those who dont like english words in Tamil songs can listen to Ilaiyaraja's songs like "Highways-le Midnights-le" from the recent 'Manasellam'.
or "shivering shivering..something something...blah blah blah" song from Anjali

BOYS : Hot, Hip and Happening
SIFY.COM
Gee Whiz. Boys is a buddy movie chronicling the coming of age of a group of teenagers who are still in college. Director Shankar had said that Boys is an autobiographical and it shows. He talks about a world of people whom he knows. The characters look real and the dialogues colloquial (Chennai Tanglish).
Boys has Style with a capital ‘S’. Technically astounding in every department from the chic set designs, cool cinematography to slick editing and catchy music with mind-blowing picturisation, Boys is truly a visual treat. Crammed with cutting edge special effects and computer generated thrills aplenty, Boys keeps the adrenaline pumping.
Munna (Siddharth), Bob Galy (Bharat), Juju (Nakul), Kumar (Manikandan) and Krishna (Sai Srinivas) are close friends and college students. They represent today’s generation of carefree, cool and irresponsible youngsters who hang out in malls and go behind every “figure”! They meet a girl Harini (Harini), another student who is the daughter of a rich customs officer. They befriend her. Munna has a soft corner for her. But she does not believe in love and promises to be their good friend.
All the five friends come from different families with varied social background. Soon Harini falls in love with Munna and they elope to get married in Tirupati with the help of Mangalam ‘sir’ (Vivek) who is like a godfather to the boys. The friends walk out on their parents and home and vow to come up in life, but reality strikes and they are left to fend for themselves. In the process the friends discover the hardships of life as they face humiliation and even end up in jail.
With the support of Mangalam they form a band called “Boys” and the rest of the film is all about their hard work to make it big as a major music band and how they win the coveted MTV award for the best musical troupe. Blending inventive visual design with a simple storyline, Shankar transports us to the wacky world of teenagers and their hopes, dreams and desires.
One can relate to every character in the film. Take for instance ‘Annavel’ Kannaian (Senthil), the ‘sadhu’ whose only chore in life is to eat free meal from each and every temple and his philosophy in life is “Information is Wealth”.
The performance of the five handpicked boys and the girl is uniformly excellent. Everybody is different in their body language and mannerisms. Vivek, for a change, follows Shankar’s script and delivers with his impeccable sense of comic timing. In small but significant cameos those who come in parents' role like A.V.Ramanan, Anita Ratnam and others leaves a lasting impression.
On the down side there are dim and yet rankling echoes of Selva Raghavan’s Thulluvatho Illamai and a few other brat pack movies in the first half. But the look and feel of Boys is different and will be definitely talked about by everyone. Whether it is the hairstyle of the boys, the clothes, the interiors, the songs, or the camera angle… all seem to be in remarkable sync.
A.R.Rahman’s songs are superbly choreographed by Raju Sundaram and thanks to glossy production values like Sabu Cyril’s set designs and Ravi K.Chandran’s skilled and evocative camera work, Shankar is able to slickly package Boys as a total entertainer.
On the whole Boys is a slice-of-life melange of moments and gags- songs, special effects, big budget and super production values. Feel good time is guaranteed for all, attitude and age no barrier.
Verdict: Hot, Hip and Happening.
