AR Rahman's Tamil Blockbuster "BOYS"

Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Also; use this thread to discuss this album..

Here is what i found::

Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.

Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.

In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.

Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.

For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

  "Real Reason For Boys Delay"
  
  Just heard from industry sources that the real reason for "Boys" delay for the past few weeks is because of Dhanush's movies and Kaaka Kaaka. Shankar was said to have said that both Kaadhal Kondein and Kaaka Kaaka have taken Tamil Nadu by storm and are doing extremely well. Also, the new teenage sensation Dhanush is very hot now. He does not want "Boys" to be overshadowed by all these. It is being said that eversince Thulluvatho Ilamai was released, Shankar has kept changing his script and storyline for "Boys". Right now, he is also trying to stay away from "Thiruda Thirudi" as he's afraid it might be released during the same time as "Boys".

  do u know barathiyaar is the best man for tamil (in poems,etc etc)his meaning is so meaningfull which non lyricts from any language can be comparable with him...its either ur not a tamil guy who can understand the REAL meaning of his tamil or ur just a 'Karuppu Soote Vellaikaran" which u pretend to be a white guy and look down on tamil....

  OK, somebody has uprooted what ARR has done for the new chinese movie. Poor Rahman. He really thought he can deceive people. May be he can deceive some koomuttas living in India but he's forgetting there are Indians living abroad too and that they would've been exposed to so many type of music.

  Anthimantarai is a movie by Bharathiraja..satrring Vijayakumar ..it's a movie about old people struggling to keep up with this world....which had some good numbers from ARR rahman....

  After a string of failures (most notably, "Parasuram"), ARR is back with a bang with "Boys". Simply amazing!!! The only regret is the lyrics - like, they are english songs with some tamil words here and there.

  You don't understand the "*" it basically is taking place of teh letter B.You see,the word,which is used correctly in this context means, to complain excessively pretty much. So actually it really is not profanity when used correctly. Hopefully you can clear up your last sentence..."Profanity is in its intention not its is presentation!!!!" because as you see you do not make much sense with your "it's is,"I would just like some clarification because I do not mean to hurt you all I wanted to say that people in this forum complain rather then discuss music.I can understand if they mention something they find wrong once or twice like many do not approve of the "excess of english lyrics" but how many times must people say this?
  
  Anyways,looking forward to the movie it'll be here in Houston this friday. Houston is in Texas,USA. So there is only one showing hopefully I'll make it otherwise gotta wait 6 months or so until ayngaran brings it out on DVD.

  Boys craze all over
  
  Shankar's sixth film 'Boys's is having tremendous craze all over that makes even the biggest hero feel jealous about. The advance booking for all the theaters are closed for the first three days after release. The record at Prasad's multiplex is that the tickets for 3 days (fri, sat, sun) were sold in just 2 hours. We have to wait and see if Shankar satisfies the hungry crowds with his film Boys or not on 29th of August.
