AVR,
I second you.
It's been over 6 months since this 'topic' was created and u see the same ole people saying the same ole things only with slightly varied sentence structures, with a sprinkling of expletives here and there to demonstrate the extent of their 'fanhood'.

Lata and Asha are considered to be great singers in Hindi. How many songs have they sung in Tamil? Very few. Does it mean that Tamils have rejected them because they are northies? Does it mean that Tamils don't recognize talent? Does it mean that they are not talented? I am sure lots of Northies like ARR's music. But is he the number 1 there? I doubt it.
Though Udit Narayan, Sadhna Sargam and others get chances to sing in Tamil. they don't sing all the Tamil songs. Most of them go to South Indians. How many Tamils pick a Northie as their favorite singer?
I think a singer/actor/actress, however talented he/she may be, has to completely shift his/her base to that region to become a dominant player. Rajini, SPB and may others may be non-Tamils but they are all considered part of the Tamil film industry. Kamal has made attempts in Hindi and probably succeeded in a few. But he is still considered an outsider, someone who makes the occasional foray.

Fan, this is a half truth. As long as this site is there, this thread and atleast 50 other threads (all saying the same things repeatedly,over and over again, ad nauseum) will be there.

Hi
A slight deviation. I have been hunting for a video or audio recording of any stage performance of SPB. He is the only singer who improvises on stage. Rest of them sing it as it is in the original. So SPB's live performances are something else. Anybody knows where to find one ?

on: Mon Feb 4 04:45:25 EST 2002
Srini;
Try spbala.com, there u can get info abt his live shows, but I do not know abt where 2 get his video or audio version of his live shows.
Comments;
Yeah I agree with u, just because Lata & asha sung a few Tamil songs, does not mean we do not recognise their talents, the same goes to SPB, because he sung mainly in Tamil/Telugu it does not mean the northies do not recognise SPB' talents.

All the MD got the best out of SPB, but SPB + IR + Thabla combination is the evergreen Combination.

mr raghu, day before yesterday, i attented spb's musical nite with gangai amaran at kamarajar arangam. it was an excellent show all the way and gangai amaran praised spb skyhigh and when spb sung thoduvathenna malargalo malargalo, it was back to 60's the same great voice singing in the same manner. Unbelivable voice . Also he sang munpaniya and the whole hall went crazy clapping several times. I wish gangai amaran would felt the pulse of the public and hope the music directors turn their attention back on spb instead of wasting their music. I shall provide you with the list very shortly. i was busy with my audit and so could not

The kattai jokes have had enough repetition. Now they are just plain vulgar. Please give it a rest, will you??

Isai madaiayan (priyan) is a waste, his/her parent’s regret for having him, his soul is misguided, and it will not get better, "naai vaalai nimutha mudiyumaa", intha kazhuthaiku karpoora vasanai theriyaathu.
Just ignore, him.
BTW, what do u think of SPB's high pitch rendition of the song "kannai kazakum sooriyanoo red", from the film Red?
- From: Yakkov (@ 65.106.79.131)
on: Wed Feb 6 15:59:41 EST 2002
Raghu, Its not very high pitch song. I can sing it easily myself. Or maybe I am also very talented.

Yakkov;
Did I say that "it is a very high pitched song"?, FYI I can sing that as well, but I do not suffer from "EGO" like you do!
- From: Isai Methai (@ 216.142.233.73)
on: Thu Feb 7 15:02:23 EST 2002
SPB is the greatest singer that India had ever produced, but Thiygarajar is the greatest music creator that India had ever produced, without him, we would not be able to appreciate the greats like, SPB,IR,KJY,Rafi, Ghantasala,..etc.
- From: Yakkov (@ 65.106.79.131)
on: Thu Feb 7 16:32:20 EST 2002
Raghu, I don't think you can sing the Red song very well at all, That is why you are much in awe of SPB's rendition and mention the pitch so often. But that is okay, not everybody has so much talent and therefore needs to worship somebody else.
So how is your job doing, my friend?
- From: Isaipriyan (@ 157.95.211.50)

I can sing as well and all songs of Shankarabaranam and I don't suffer from anything.How about you Yakkov?
- From: Yakkov (@ 65.106.79.131)
on: Thu Feb 7 18:33:00 EST 2002
Me? No pa. I am only simple man and all. Shankarabaranam is easy (verrrreee easy) but I am being afreid of being called "EGO" and all. But also Mun Paniya, Pun Maniya, RED (BLUE AND GREEN) are all easy songs for me. Are you doing Cutcheree in US of A anytime, Isaipriyan (lovely name this is)? I will surely like be happy to be attending :)

Yakkov;
U have not f**kin heard me singing, yet u post ur f**kin comment without hearing me sing, do u posses some supernatural powers, where u can judge somebody's singing skills without listening
to their singing?
FYI, I sing in "UK Tamil society" here in UK, I have many 1st prizes & awards to date, but I am not going around & chanting about my singing skills,BTW when u sing, do all the "donkeys" in your village listen to u?
- From: Isaipriyan (@ 157.95.211.50)
on: Fri Feb 8 09:22:51 EST 2002
Yakkov,
I don't use my singing talents to earn fame and name and money.Its just for the self satisfaction and knowledge.For that matter thats one of the reasons why some donkeys get chance in the "UK Tamil society" and many sabas like that.Any way thats the fate of those tamils there.After all who can save them?
May be we can arrange a trip to UK and try to save those guys there from this inhuman massacre thats going on there right now!!
What do you say??

"UK enga eda Donkey irruku"
Thats a good question, but actually the truth is its there with in you(same philosophy as jeevathma and paramathma).So don't you think its high time you spare those innocent people living there?
I MEAN THERE IS A HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION GOING ON IN UK.DOES ANY BODY CARE AT ALL??WHATS THIS??COMEON GUYS HAVE SOME MERCY ON THE SOCIETY RAGU SPARE THEM THEY ARE INNOCENT AFTER ALL.
If you don't I will have to come there with Yakkov to conduct the rescue misson.
BEWARE!!!

Raghu (my friend),
To respond politely to your questions:
>U have not f**kin heard me singing, yet u post ur >f**kin comment without hearing me sing, do u >posses some supernatural powers, where u can
>judge somebody's singing skills without listening
>to their singing?
Yes.
>FYI, I sing in "UK Tamil society" here in UK, I >have many 1st prizes & awards to date, but I am >not going around & chanting about my singing
>skills,BTW when u sing, do all the "donkeys" in >your village listen to u?
Yes, even donkeys are enthralled by my dulcet tones. However, keep entertaining the UK folks until I and my compatriot, Isai Priyan, catch the next flight out there to perform a REAL music concert.
Isai Priyan:
Machi, all flights are booked for now. Meanwhile, I have forwarded the petition to Human Rights Commission about "Unknown Abasvra Violations" to your pvt, unlisted, top secret email account.
I also sense that this is digressing away from stated purpose of thread. So let's discuss SPB and how last night I drove by a farm in Upper New Hampshire with Mun Paniya in full volume....would you believe it? All the crickets stopped chirping...ahh, what a MAGNIFICENT voice!
