Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”
Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.
Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

mature characterization not mani's forte?wat the.....wat u mean by mature like old people or like characterizing a role maturly?
HJ has more then 5 albums out =P....unless we talkin abt original ones then he has abt 4-5 songs out.

one of the worst albums of mani rathnam. its high time that he chooses other musician. SONY gone for ever from tamil music. people should appreciate music without any blind support.

The song bits sounded better than the songs themselves. Not very impressive at first hearing. If one is more into new sounds and experimentation they should first listen to the songs online before going for the cassette/cd. The tunes, except for one or two songs,
leave a lot to be desired. I think songs might be better with visuals in this case.
Besides Adnan Sami should get some nose work done before somebody bashes it in for his overuse of it in singing.
Overall average effort from ARR.
I don't think Mani Rathnam should shift from ARR, seems like they really work on the same wavelength. BGM could be worth waiting for.

I think album introduces techno music to tamil music. It is very different. Takes a few listenings to enjoy it.
Yakka Thiri and Jana Ganammaa are the picks of the album.

wtf are u guys talking about? I havent enjoyed ARR this much since alaipayuthey. AE is simply awesome...just try listening to it like 3 times and u'll be hooked. I cannot stop humming fanaah!!! I LOVE ARR.

I agree with Noteman on the tunes not being impressive. As for introducing techno I think Boys and probably even a few songs before that have already done it to a certain extent. The gimmicks used are nothing quite new (the same voice-breaking effects that ARR used in Theekuruviyai). This album didnt make an immediate impact on me like KKS, but like Mani's earlier film KM, probably the songs would fit the movie better and will probably sound better on screen.
