6 Songs : Mind Blowing!!

Simply mind-blowing
November 20
Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”
Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.
Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

why is everybody hyping any release of ARR songs.
please come to the ground level. KKS flopped without a trace. I did listen to songs of KKS and felt even if the movie were a hit the songs would not have become very popular. This hype and hoopla is too much. these days public buy cassettes as a matter of routine and is not the only indicator of a hit album.
Come on. these days songs of bharadwaj,HJ,YSR and VS are consistently becoming more hits than ARR. I am HCF of IR but this is reality today. Don't keep on harping on ARR's music.

KKS flopped? where?!
Sundar,
I thot KKS wud be pathetic. (looking at the actors it's hardly surprising to think so!)I decided to buy KKS JUST bcoz the IRFs in this forum praised it!
And I found it quite brilliant.
"these days public buy cassettes as a matter of routine"
Actually.. they dont. I find every Audio store near my house (the small ones) restocking their cassettes w/ MP3s. Cassettes have almost gone outta reckoning. To sell such a staggering number of cassettes at such a lean time surely is an indicator of a hit. And it deserves every bit of hype that comes w/ it.

I respect ur opinion.
But it might appear to people as though it's vayatherichal.
Whether u accept it or not, ARR's last 3 releases deserved the accolades it got.

KKS was not a flop mr.sundar.....it was no.1 in many countdowns and has kept virumaandi under its nose.........
BOYS was hailed as the revival of music industry with sales crossing 1.5 lakh units........
Meenaxi is the first muscial hit of the year in mumbai.... it has kept "Main hoo naa" down which is a srk movie.....keeping a SRK movie down in a countdown is a major victory in bollywood......
AE has sparked off to a very brisk sales so ur view is totally biased and anti-ARR....... but u used a very decent language unlike other IR fans.... thnx for that sir...... there are some things in life which u dunt like to accept but it is the reality..... ARR SHINING.......

i never expected this from rahman...,pathetic.....well Mr. Rahman....where R U.PLEASE COME TO INDIA.....leave you london dreams..theres a long way to go......
simply pathetic......rahman be frank......is it you who composed music for Aytha ezhuthu or naveen..sivaram or noel composed it.....mani ur find is losing his ground here......pls bring him back....to inida.
absolutely hopeless music.....sorry rahman fans....u have to compromise for it..its clearly apparent in the song "jana gana mana" . its a lyric that has been composed.struggle for a good tune to that song is apparent...the song is blatantly recited...not sung......
disspaoointed over aytha ezhuthu.......so is numerous fans over the globe...the only way you compensate the defeat is .u should come to india...u r in india....and dreaming of london....no use...
what a fall.......what a fall........

My only disappointment with AE was that ARR shud not have given such an album to tamil films. I dont think our music industry has matured itself out of the male males, o podus, manmatha rasas to deserve an album like AE.
HE shud reserve such kind of music for crossover movies and international projects or albums.
WHat a waste of time trying to give techno albums to kuthu music lovers.
Hindi I can agree. With people like Ramu and his film school boys coming out with slick movies such albums make justice.
But if I were Mani my first big mistake is to make movies in Tamil film industry. I would wait atleast for 10 years before ppl here grow themselves out of monotonous music films and start accepting movies like 12B(good remake of Sliding Doors), Kutti, Kannathil, etc.

WHat I see as intended opinion seems to be a hrash attacks of vayatherichal and Dr.Ramadoss kind of venom spitting where the substance of the message (if any at all exists) is cloyuded by the unrestrained borderless angry vayatherichal language.
I like people like cn who came out with opinion but used beauiful sentences to express themselves. cn used sarcasm to express why he would not like AE. But he was well within the boundary and was not spewing venom in the name of opinion. If you have brains you will know how to state opinions and sill get respect.

My view on AE(opinionated ofcourse):
I have come to like all the songs except Dol Dol. The fanaaaah track is driving me crazy. Its sweeter and sweeter everytime I listen to it The way he has engineered his voice "anbaaaaeeeee" and "nanjaaaaae" to sound like an instrument with sustain is just pure genius. ALso the way in which he has tied the magical part "thoduvom, thodrvom..." lines with the bass and made it sound do slimy is just a sign of how ARR terrfically understands the sound that play with your brains.
The lazy way of singing in Jana gana mana is amazing. He adds punch to the song when his parts come.
Sanda kozhi is simple and full of honey! the humming in first interlude is out of the world ARR stuff. "vangi potta vethala sevakkala saami..." that part is wow wowow woow wowow. sad that he made some madhushree sing in it. chitra sivaraman would have been better or even swarnalatha or chitra.
nenjam ellam is weird with its bass but the song becomes "frindly" with your brains when the part "neethane mazhai megam enakku". Adnan sami has a nice voice. The bass in this song is very well concieved. the second interlude sarod is what differentiates ARR from VS, Ysr, HJ. the strumming is very well timed and supported.
The bass in the goodbye nanba is something I have never heard before in tamil cinema. ANother great work of sound engineering to give a fresh sound that hits the brain cells.
Absolutely an experimental album with tooo much hard work gone into shaping the sounds and crafting the sounds to stand up in techno setting.
I Wish, Hope Pray that ARR stops doing Tamil films. He shud go away from such a setting and make international albums. This album could have been better if the tamil cinema aspect of it was not grounding it. With projects like LOTR, Broad BD Warriors keeping his dates busy it is a good sign that he is moving away and putting his talent to better use instead of trying to pander to the makkals who are not yet ready to grow out of monotonous music(not bad mucis but formula music). HE can come back when things here improve. When movies like fight club are made in tamil cinema. When movies like memento, when made in tamil, are understandable to our makkals.
All IMHO.

Yo! people show some respect, I must give credit to rehman he has done a perfectly good album. The typicals in india may not accepat such sophisticated music but I bet this movie will become a massive hit combine with direction of mani and rehmans arts.
The very first time when i heard the tracks i too was not impressed by jana gana, the rest were awesome,...eventually i came to realize it was fantastic.
Adnans song "nenjam ellam" will be the greatest hit out of all
Rehman has done a perfect crafting of music in this album and I really hope the people out there will accept it positively. What rehman trying to say in this piece of music is that he is flowing with the world as it grows at a higer level..the instruments and rythms has made it outrageous. As we all know he likes to try new music on every albums of his..you may have noticed that.
Rehman keep up the good work! God Bless
