Shankar with Harris Jayaraj

Hi gang,
This time i have got some spicy news as usual.
Shankar has booked harris jayaraj for his new movie with vikram in the lead.
Its a movie for oscar films.

  I remember when Jeans released,
  IR had one of recent major hits in the form Kadhalaku Mariyathai.
  Even though Jeans was a Hit, people adn press said shankar cant survive without ARR and reason for Shankars success was due to ARR( Even though this is not true). Following this after a few month, Press started carrying newsthat Shankar has split IR and has joined forces with the maestro IR for his next film with Arjun( Mudhalvan)
  But what Happenend we know and it was history!
  
  Similarly, shankar releases Boys, HJ has his major hit of his life( KK). Once again the saving grace for Boyz at the Box Officce turned out to be ARR's music. Similair to the above incident, ie after a few months after boys we shankar is making a movie withoscar ravi, and vikram and music is by HJ.
  
  Isnt this interesting? We have to wait and see, what happens.
  
  One more thing, it is a known fact that oscar ravichandran and IR thick Buddies. wouldnt he like shankar to work with IR if the MD is not going to ARR?

  Hi all,
  I was watching an interview of ARR in some stupid Hindi channel. The topic was mainly his international committments and very few Hindi movies he is composing these days. Well the interviewer was almost taking it for granted that he (ARR) is someone who should do only Hindi movies(!) If we tamils, fight among ourselves in a petty manner,over ARR Vs IR, then we may very well lose ARR to those stupid northies, who will kidnap him from us. To tell the fact, movies with sensitivity and sensibility, which are worth the music of geniuses like IR and ARR are made only in south(Bengalis and Assamese and Oriya movie makers cannot afford these guys). So we as fans should stop the fight that we have and support for ARR to remain in Chennai and support him do all international/local assignments from here with peace of mind. So the directors here also should be flexible and use all the appropriate talents available. That is, if ARR is busy with WOHE, then Mani should not disturb him and move on to someone else with talent appropriate for scoring for that movie. This would mean that everyone would benefit from association with Mani. Same thing applies to Bala or Thangar Bachan.This would stop such stupid arguments like shankar and ARR have split and it is HJ's gain etc., We have the best talent in music in the entire country adn we should respect everybody.

  Given the fact that HJ is seen as a massy/catchy alternative to ARR, it'd help to remember that ARR was churning out ear-friendly chartbusters by the dozen in the beginning. He has, time and again, mentioned that he's bored of composing for the same old situations. This could explain why he's doing the the stage version of LOTR or a Chinese movie.
  
  So its probably good that Shankar tries out HJ who is currently much more massy than ARR by not experimenting too much and retaining the audience-friendly sound that's instantly catchy.
  
  For ARR fans who look forward to him churning out catchy tracks year after year, this might be terribly annoying, but seen in ARR's perspective it'd probably help him in maturing as a composer. After all, even if we want him to stick to film music, his angle of thinking "What more can I do?" could be much more pertinent. Yes, IR ruled precisely in this film music scene and he got bored of the same-situations stuff much later in his carrier and wanted to do different things like symphony et all.
  
  Today everything is totally overexposed - including film music and that could explain why ARR got bored of something that took IR many more years.

  This is the most memorable and happiest news i got as a true fan of IR.I have always been dreaming for the destruction of ARR like other sincere IR fans. Now it has happened. thnks god. I think all IR fans should get together and celebrate this happy news. further we should support HJ wholeheartedly. wow...its party time for us.

  Yes, I do remember that. Rajeev Menon and Maniratnam might be exceptions where ARR's music could make a difference. But Shankar's movies are escapist fantasies that requires very massy music and even if I'd want ARR to do such stuff, he should be interested to do that too!

  I think Shankar should have gone for YSR. HJ doesn't really produce anything that much different from ARR. Maybe he has gone to HJ because he want's ARR music but has a personal clash with ARR.

  In a recent interview ARR said from now on he is planning on working only with Shankar, Mani and Rajiv....So I guess this is a mere baseless rumor....but who knows? mani split with IR when ppl said that couldnt happen....anything's possible

  IR was having a more fundamental approach towards music and music came from him effortlessly. This is the reason why he could put up with film music more time. Also he found this as a platform for expressing his brilliant ideas(particular BGM).
  
  The problem with IR is eventhough he has great talent, he did not think big. He never thought that he should acquire Hindi Music Market even. Sort of contented probably due to philosophic approach or whatever. On the otherhand, ARR is informed and tries to spread his wing. This is a good quality and in the light of such thinking, doing masala movies in Tamil is nothing great.
  
  He should split from Shankar. Nothing is lost.

  first his Bombay Dreams became a hit in West End ..what a bad luck
  secondly...he got NA for Lagaan..maan...it's really bad luck...
  thirdly...when he came back to TFM..he came with a bang and BOYS the best selling album in the past 2 years(compare to all other albums)...maan..it's really a bad luck
  fourth ..being singed for LOTR the musical..it has to be bad luck...
  fifth ... BCSO....bad luck too
  sixth....UN TB ambasaddor...also bad luck
  seventh ..BD going Broadway...bad luck again
  eigth.....WOHE going Oscar...another bad luck...

  Shankar`s film - A futuristic thriller?

  The Shankar- Vikram film will be a futuristic thriller titled Aniyan, which will start rolling some time in April 2004.
  
  This futuristic film happens in Chennai 3033! A few years back Shankar had planned to make this movie with Kamalhassan and had titled it Robo. This is long before the Wachowski Brothers were planning Matrix and its sequels!
  
  The film was dropped at that time due to budget constraints. But now producer ‘Oscar’ Ravichandran has come forward to bankroll the project, which will have a budget of Rs 30 crore!
  
  This film will have state-of-the-art special effects and Sabu Cyril will create Chennai of thousand years from now. Harris Jayaraj will provide the music for Aniyan.
  
  The heroine is yet to be finalised though the grapevine is abuzz with rumours that Aishwarya Rai will be roped in. At a time when she is dropped by Ketan Mehta from The Rising, it is only a question of juggling dates. Aishwarya shares a special rapport with Shankar as she has worked with him earlier in Jeans.
