  no doubt rafi was a great singer.his quality of voice is unmatched. it is not reasonable to compare kishore kumar with him. both have a different singing style but when it comes to the best it is rafi who was the one with the golden voice.

  SPB is the best Indian singer CURRENTLY (in spite of his terrible accent). He is definitely ONE of the greatest singers India has produced, and he is in the same league of great singers I describe in a few lines. RAFI is the GREATEST MALE playback singer the WORLD has ever produced.

  3.Mukesh
  4.Hemant
  5.Saigal
  6.Jagjit
  7.Manna Dey
  8.SPB
  9.Udit N
  10.Shanu
  
  Of these, I believe KK, Mukesh and Hemant were equally great (just a matter of preference who is ranked above whom), but Rafi is the BEST by any yardstick.
  
  BUT there are some SPB songs which I like a lot better than some Rafi songs.

  Kishore Da is The Greatest he proved it being the no 1 singer of the industry.after him i like rafi ji then lata ji and then mukesh ji and then every one else.

  manna dey is the greatest classical singer for ever in our film industry no one born like him his singing style is very different his classical approach to songs is best his style of singing is due to classical which is the best music in whole world.

  Hi friends,If we speak about the best male or female singer I think there are only two names Mohd Rafi and Lata no one else be 50% of Mohd rafi and Lata.P from LP said that it is easy 2 make songs for Mohd rafi,Lata and Asha because they can sing it how we made it but other's can't and Manny Day(singer) said the number one singer(male) is only Mohd rafi.
  If u go to websit which have Vote for singing you will see that mohd rafi have arount 77% of votes.

  mohd rafi is the greatest singer ever born in the indian film industry. only ghantasala from south india is the singer who can match the caliber of rafi saheb. there is no actor to whom rafi saheb has not lent his voice and there is no mood which is not expressed through his voice ie he is a complete singer. so is ghantasala. all other male singers are way behind.

  Hear from the Master's ...Manna Dey a contemprory of Rafi, Kishore, Mukesh, Talat, Hemant etc. was asked where does he rate himself on a scale of 1 to 10.
  Modest Mr. Dey replied, with singer like Rafi Sab around the entire 1 to 10 are occupied, others follow after 11.
