The fact is, Darling Darling is way beyond the original song. The prelude alone is a classic and an amazing stanza tune following brilliant interludes.
Yes, it is a shock to know that a second also was copied from some unknown band from somewhere on the planet. Again, see the entire IR song will blow the original composers minds.
The oddest thing is, IR copies from songs with similar patterns to Indian film song traditions:
eg: Kaadhal Vanthirichu (b grade limerick tune, made into a colossal hit with 3 interludes and a fantastic charanam, besides a sorrowful version with a mind blowing violin interlude. does this kind of charity fall from trees?)
second: Enthan Poovilum vaasam undu, (dialog question reply format)
3. Kan Malargalin Azhaippidhazh (another common structure)
5. Chittikuruvi Vekkapaduthu (dialog repetition etc..)
6. Darling Darling (limerick)
You see, all of the above are ordinary song patterns and IR has successfully turned straightforward simple patterns with melodious and complex breaks perhaps giving each 10 minutes of notation work and goes for a break.
come on folks, give me a break. IR has taken from MSV also and done justice to those ideas even.
Give me any song with nuclear math like rhythms found in Andha Oru Nimidam. can u find some composition, breaks or rythms like that elsewhere, then we can say there is some secretive copying going on by IR.

Gyan, as u say , the 3 interludes with a very sexy prelude in Darling Darling are AMAZING!!!
I don't care if just some 2 or 3 lines are lifted from the popular english number.I don't have count of how many times I would loop thru it everytime I listen to Priya

I heared the song 'Boom Boom...' from boys just yesterday. Isn't the clarinet pieces in the song the same as the one in 'I like the Way you Move...' in Outkast.
Did ARR lift it from Outkast?

the movie "super kudumbam" starring Prabhu and the late Pratyuksha, MD : Adithyan, has a song "Endhan selayum nazhuviyadhaeno". the original of the song seems to be a hindi album song by Falguni Pathak, starring our own TRISHA as a tribal girl kinda... the song goes like this "meri paayal paav ban jaaye". (pardon my hindi..)

there is a factual error in the article whose link given above.
"Jayam, a run away success in Tamil and Telugu made by a film institute product, was inspired by another Hollywood film Serendipity."
The film that was based on serendipity story is Jay Jay and NOT jayam as quoted in the article.
There is a rumour that one of the telugu producer bought the "story rights" of serendipity to be made in telugu. But before he could produce the movie there were about a couple of movies based on serendipity in telugu itself and Jay Jay in thamizh. There was big fuss made by that producer in Telugu Film industry in this regard.

The i2fs has left out one more inspiration song of ARR. I was infact surprised to see the omission of Arr's Muqabla (or was it there?) supposedly ripped off from Dr.Alban's Oh!Mata. Karthick would do a world of good to add it to the index.

One of the most popular songs in Hindi now is "Agar Main Kahoon" from Lakshya. The opening of this song has a very strong resemblance to a song in Winner - the Prashanth - Kiran starrer. This is the song where Kiran is in the waterfall... In fact, after u hear both the songs 2 to 3 times, it appears that the openings are the same! Check out!

I heared the song 'Adalante-Sash'..'. The beginning stanza is similar to 'Sakalakalavallavane' of Panja Thantiram.
Another number a arabic song 'Sayyoni...'. Deva has ripped it off one to one for his earlier Gana number which was a gr8 hit.
Deva is really a Sakalakalavallavan. He can in no way be compared with others in this copying act.

Saawanarya song in "Swades" is a lift from the old P.Susheela song scored MSV\TKR. I am looking for the links for that old song o prove it. One recycled song from Baba and one MSV\TKR lift. ARR trend continues

Mr. Vazhipokkan, unless you prove it, all you can do is accuse. So please try to find the original bcoz there are many ARR bashers in newtfmpage who post such comments in all ARR threads and people have a wrong(may be right) impression about them. Therefore it is highly essential for you to prove your point.

May not be a direct lift. But it is surely modeled after an oldie. The yeh tara song itself has traces of a Bombay song. The one Rehman sings has traces of an english song.
It is a waste of time analysing Rahman songs. If you like it, listen to it. Dont ask who did what or what loops/samples were used. The guy knows to BS more than music (though he does can create some good tunes once in a while) - how inspired he is abou Sufi music, bengali folk or what not.
