// This is one of the best places for people to find out about the project. I feel that any answers to my question to be answerd here, not in a personal email. //
quite the opposite...one of the biggest mistakes SSSA did was to use newtfmpage to post updates and official announcements...it has worked as much against the project as it has for the project IMO...all updates should have appeared only on tis.com...tis-usa.com has been created for this purpose now - 10 months late - but hopefully will still serve this purpose...
// Look, I want this to succeed for the Sake of IR. Let's hope that this will //
well your posts aren't helping...
i restate that if you need answers send email to the contacts on http://www.tis-usa.com...if appropriate the answers will ALSO appear on the website in the FAQ section or elsewhere for the public...
thanks,

Thops, if you feel that way, why post "tis-usa.com updated" ? Trying to have it both ways?

Thops, newtfmpage has been a BIG contributing factor of publicity and funds in US for TIS so its unfair to blame TFMDF for anything after getting all the $$$$$.bb has been patient with this thread even when it took a few nasty turns earlier. The benefits from TFMDF publicity far exceed any "damage" you are talking about.
Blame it on the lack of clarity in SSSA's initial posts on this page and his evasiveness when someone asked relevant questions. If all the doubts/questions had been properly anticipated and answered in the site earlier and the resons for such a venture elaborated nicely, there wouldnt be so many questions or criticism in the first place. The problem is just lack of proper communication and the writing style of SSSA that put off some people.
Of course when you get free publicity you will get a bundle of questions along with it which the TIS reps needed to have handled properly. And since this site practises democracy any jerk can bump into this thread just for the sake of causing trouble too. All of this is unavoidable.
I am a contributor to this project myself but it took for ever to figure out why they were even collecting funds in the first place. Still a few details of the project arent clear. Maybe if you had taken up the role of being the official TIS-USA team spokesman here in DF right from the beginning, things might have been a little better.I mean it seriously.

hmmm...i never thought i blamed newtfmpage...i sincerely apologize if my post suggested that...i thought i actually put the blame on SSSA - for using newtfmpage as the "official" website for TiS...
of course if blaming the content of this thread (and its posters including SSSA) implies that i am blaming newtfmpage then it is unavoidable...
i agree with everything else you say...except that i still feel that this thread has caused more damage than good - this post included...i say this becaue it requires much less effort to cause damage than to do good...
// Maybe if you had taken up the role of being the official TIS-USA team spokesman here in DF right from the beginning, things might have been a little better //
my whole point is that you can/should not have a spokesperson on newtfmpage for TiS...tis.com should have been the only spokesperson..but i understand the point you are making...
BTW i wish to clarify that i am neither an official or unofficial spokesperson for TiS...irukkara prachanai poradhunnu idhu veraiyaa :-))...

"my whole point is that you can/should not have a spokesperson on newtfmpage for TiS...tis.com should have been the only spokesperson"
Thops by spokesperson, I just meant announcing about the TIS and so on. Just some initial publicity to get people to the main TIS site.
Unless otherwise you mention about it here in DF and elsewhere no one would even know such a site exists.THats what I meant. But I agree with you in that when there is an official site, there is no need to mention every subsequent development here in DF.

I value people. I am not that person who believes in secrecy or personal fame. I did not start this thread. The so-called 'official' thread that existed at that time was run by Tamil Maiyam from India and they had some technical difficulties in posting information on time. That's when i took it upon myself in keeping the public of the developments in some form as a duty and what better way to do than posting them here which carries the same purpose and the title. You all know the state of the 'other' 'official' site which is also under some body else's control and I had the same problems in getting them post the developments. And, 'thops' knows very well since when I have been personally requsting him to get involved and I am very glad and grateful that he has finally done so. Blaming is very easy and perhaps the only person who I think will and can feel my pain is 'bb' as he has been doing this for so long. I am very very thankful for this site but for which TiS would not have been so well-known to so many when all the other avenues were closed. MORE GOOD HAS COME THAN DAMAGE, I AM POSITIVE OF THAT. I am not a technical person and posting here was easy for me.
And, 'thoppus' has done a great job in getting this new site organized in an excellent manner.
Again, I fully understand now what Kavignar Vairamuththu meant by'avamaanam thaangudhal' when involving oneself in a public cause.
Anyhow, all is well which is 'meant' well.
Please keep visiting www.tis-usa.com' as often as possible and TRY to help the cause. Thank you.

I want to explain a bit more on the following statement--'I am not that person who believes in secrecy or personal fame'.
What I meant was that I gave out all the available information I HAD at that time on a given topic without hiding anything. If people expected more and thought it was vague or evasive, I cannot help it. I was honest all the time and never concealed any facts. If the subsequent developments made me give a different version, that was to it. This is the fact.
You all know that it started as a 'mega' project initially, involving various languages etc., but the subsequent fund situation changed the dimensions to a smaller version. This was an organizational decision and I have no part in it. I was, am and will only be a volunteer who thought that this is a great project and resolved to do anything possible within my means to help the cause. That's all.Thanks.

SSSSA, finally!!! The first phase completed.
Exclnt news. as i was saying, 20 lakhs should not be difficult if any more fans out there can come up with atleast 1% of their annual income or even a .05%. I'll tell you why, many should volunteer now. More and more people (like in the voice recordings) are going to experience directly this occassion and there are many artistes waiting for a historic chance like this. Many can sponsor this cherished moment of musicians and singers.
The net effect of this approaching fans is this: many many great people like FR. Jegath, SSSSA and other fans have personally experienced the process and the recordings for posterity. Which may be shared amongst many fans for ages to come with personal perspective adding the spice to the anecdotes of each IR fan who took full part in the process. Something, TFM dfers can look forward to.
I feel ultimately, IR must have come with music very suitable for the age old Thiruvasakam, reflecting the timeless feel of divinity, and also maturity of musical thought that runs in parallel to spiritual nature of people from times immemorial. what i mean is, cultural moods and memories from far away in the past will be certainly reflected in a Symphony of this nature. IR' attempt is not just at orchestral beauty but also to highlight those ancient ancient spiritual glory thru a grand sound than just with a single flute or veena.
It cannot be another symphony from the 17th century or like the moods of a tamil film song set against the backdrop of a 2000 year old temple or a barren paddy fields with an Mariamman Kovil, this symphony will be much reflective of times much more older than that. Something, I am waiting to find out from this symphony of IR. Devotional memories of way past, Profound, eh ;--)
In this line of analysis, I also understand how IR has taken the opportunity to work with Hungarians. Hungary is known for a glorious musical past (Mikolas Roscza composed for Ben-Hur bringing in 2000 year old sounds at the time of the Christ) and some of its music is very reflective of that ancient culture and spirituality.
(but, i don't know why IR sat in Singapore to write this score. I've not analysed that yet ;---) Did he not write the first one in Cochin, (kerala, from my own crazy understanding happens to have reflected in their film music itself, much older feeling cultural moods, I've ever heard thus far.)
Congrats again!
