AR Rahman's Tamil Blockbuster "BOYS"

Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Also; use this thread to discuss this album..

Here is what i found::

Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.

Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.

In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.

Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.

For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

  My only advise is ONLY "BOYS" in the age group of "17 - 25" post in this thread hereafter, for SHANKAR himself had said that that is the part of the society he intended the film to be in. So, others, even if you were so tempted to watch the film, please refrain from commenting here...

  what do u mean? I am 18 now in 2 nd year college. I think this movie is an insult to youngsters. especially, is making an international standard album that easy? forget the obscenity... the film has no logic no sense. grouse.... not just in sex.. vomitting, shitting, constipation ...what the hell.. there are so many things that we do in life.. but those are to be in private, not to be brought public. My question is, if Shankar has an 17 yr old boy and 19 yr old girl, will he, as a father, like them to watch this film?
  every director and producer holds a social responsibility when they are letting something open to millions of people. You cant treat them to such shit.
  young friends, dont cheat yourself by saying you like this film, that is not the way to prove that you are modern.

  hello shivakumar, y this partiality on shankar only?????? didn't selvaraghavan redden ur faces with TI??? were u able to sit and watch the half-hour "child abuse" sequence in Kadhal Kondein????? did u condemn "malle malle marudhumale" song which makes fun of hindu gods.....did u condemn " thitranaga" song which openly wants youngsters to smoke?????/ come on man be impartial in ur view...... if shankar is vulgar then selvaraghavan is tttoooooo.....

  first and foremost , i would like 2 aprreciate SHANKAR for giving a true movie....touching the heart of me & many of my friends......
  
  andnow that ALL the "So-called" VULGAR....scenes removed from the movie.....the movie should surely be given a "U" rating.......instead of "u/a"......the movie is clearly for the "MASSES"......
  
  now going 2 the controversies!!!
  
  1) guys have u heard abt a movie called 'THULLUVATHO ILAMAI'...
  
  2) guys have u ever watched the TRAILOR scene of KADHAL KONDEN......?
  
  3) guys do u actually know whts maxium vulgarity.. or for that reason , the real meaning of VULGARITY or SEX ????
  
  now abt BOYS......
  
  u guys of for that matter, some POLITICIANS....go on complaining abt some scenes in BOYS....?
  
  1) k , some people say there is NUDITY...of a boy running on a ROAD...k accepted.....
  
  2) guys keeping their zip opened....which is not shown in the movie...just for the scene , a dialogue comes..

  TI had guys portrayed as gud for nothing beings
  TI had UTTER VULGARITY....
  TI had almost sherin xposing her whole body...

  in the trailor itself they show
  1) DHANUSH "BUM" cleany exposed...almost like masturbating with a wall...sleaping when some1 hits him
  2)sonia agarwals top part being xposed clearly while being very close with dansuh in a song....and also in ascene
  3) heroine SMOOCHING aguy and wht not
  
  ALL SHIT!!!!!
  
  now answer my questions?????
  
  where were all those so called BAS**RDS or POLITICIANS........when such XXX movies like TI ..came.....
  
  where were all those women organistaions when film like TI came.....
  
  where were the papers opposing gone......when such a XXX movie like TI Came....
  
  this clearly shows THEY r doing this out of clear "JEALOUSY" or "PURELY MONEY".....
  
  final verdict: GUYS dont believe all the rumours.....surrounding the movie....the movie is absolutely clean "NOW" and its a clean ENTERTAINER..,.........and it can be surely seen by WOMAN.......
