Astro's 3rd Vaanavil Talent Quest - what a dissapoinment !!

i just watch d show life on Astro yesterday.. i'm totally dissapointed with the judges.. wat is Deva up to?? first he choose the best among 4 finalists..which i though is THE final decision.. but i was shock that the singer Anuradha, who Deva chooses at 4th place..WON the first price, after the second judgement by the other judges.. she's not that good compared to the other 3 contestant...what do u ppl say?????

  this Paatu Potti suppose to be hub between Malaysian singer and Tamil Nadu music industry, so dont say, it's just another Talent Quest...
  
  But this years "fixed" result..really humiliated Deva..that is what we are talking abt...
  
  Let it be that Deva is a xerox, or what-so-ever...he is a qualified MD man.......should not be humiliated in front of millions of people.

  Hi,..., first of all with all due respect, this is a free world and lay people like us are entitled to voice out our opinions. If you happen to have a subsequent problem with that, then all I could say is just that your being pretty ignorant. I say that Saravanakumar good for nothing because I know him better than u. I can't help but to express my dissatisfaction towards the judgement forayed during the talent quest. We had loads of superb singers who scored an average score wherelse those who were so-so secured better scores. Is there some sort of denial of fairness going on in here ? Please don't say that I don't know anything about music......I am a carnatic singer for approximately 6 years & just came back frm india after finishing my BA in Music frm University of Madras(Tamil Nadu Music College) and I do know the right swaras and ragas. If you want to ask me why didn't I participate... simple... I know earlier that this will happend. They been doing it for past two years & but now only everybody realising it and one of the criteria to be a contestant is You shd not sing in any album more than one song ...do Saravanakumar fullfill that ??? Even that they took him , If I realy want I can prove or call Vanavil & make him to be disqualified. Comeone Sir I can swear upon my sangeetham knowlege & Devi Kalaivani that he even did't sing well frm the first round. He only got style as a singer because he is a stage singer & use to appear in TV before. I whd like to admid that he did well in 2nd part but not in the singing part.Even Ms. Anuradha Sriram had mention whatever it is don't forget the "SUBSTANCE" that is more important(Singing) & Moreover it is PADAL THIRAN POTTI " So lets leave it as it is and you just go around and have some fun and please don't talk abt what u don't know.Sorry if I being rude here !!!

  Well everyone seems to be emotional when in comes to VTQ 2003.So far the people i've met seem to agree with me...IT'S A TOTAL DISAPPOINMENT!
  Let us see:
  a)The hosts, Sumitra and Govind, really bored us with their silly and "not so funny" jokes. I noticed that the audience were passive for the past 7 weeks.Govind "killed" us this year, although he was there last year.Two years ago were Anand and Latha, last year were Govind and Bawani, seem to have performed better.
  b)The point system is totally unfair.In Heat 1, the contestants were given low marks. In Heat 3, it went lower, but in the other Heats, the marks were really high.I still wonder what are the criterias for the marks.I really missed Helen from Heat 1 who sang "Macha Meese Veecaruva" She was good. Nakiran Parry was also good.I still wonder how Pathyil Ravidass managed to enter final when his tamil pronunciation is out.
  c) The choice of songs by the contestants were boring.Some singers were copying the "original singers", for example Saravanan was copying Unni Krishnan and Harita was copying Harini.
  d)At the final, during "show your talent" round, the sketches by the contestants were boring.Pathyil Ravidass was funny....not because of his performance but the way he delivered his dialogues....like watching a Telegu sketch dubbed in Tamil!
  e)Some of the local judges who were present on the final really shocked me. Does Jack Nadarajah really has any Sangeetham background? I only know that he directs Fiesta Deepavali.Does Susila Menon really knows Sangeetham? I wonder how will Deva feel when he hears her singing.
  f)Many were hoping that Saravana Kumar wins. He sang well in his 1'st & 2nd round.He didn't do well in his final song.There were some mistakes when he tried to sing high pitch.I think Sharmini & Mathan did well but Kavitha was a total failure since her first round. How did she enter finals?
  g) Anuradha Sriram really disappointed us. She didn't even sing any song for us. Harish Ragavendra & Srinivas sang when they came.
  h)How can they depend on SMS in chosing the winners? Sometimes the SMS takes a very long time before it reaches the right people. I took part in the Home Viewer's Contest.We were supposed to choose 1 contestant that may be 1 of the 4 finalists.I did just that, and got a message stating that after the show is over, i will be getting a SMS if the person i choose is there, and i just have to answer 1 question as quick as possible.I was happy when i found out that Shamini was there. The show ended around 11.15pm. I was anxiously waiting for the "so called SMS".
  I waited...waited...& waited. When i woke up the next morning, i noticed that the SMS did reach me......at 12.45am!
  
  I do hope ASTRO VANAVIL will UPGRADE their "system" as they used to do....and PLEASE DON"T LET US DOWN AGAIN IN FUTURE!!!!!!

  vanakam. well the vtq is over.and each and everyone of us are still in the state of shock when we see who are the winners.what happened..?any favoritisms..?well its obvious i guess..everyone should know that kavitha did nt sing her poove vai pesum pothu clearly.but was i shocked to see her results..anyone there think she deserves the 2nd..?well i thought she doesnt even desrve to enter the finals.other singers like saravanan,amutha and even jega sang better . what s happening there ..VAANAVIL ?

  This year the talent quest was a total failure WHY?....because they should not allow the home viewers to be judges and.... appointing suseela menon and re shanmugam was a DISASTER.WHO CAN STAND THEIR VOICE "PONNE BURUK" the authority should BAN these two culprits because they are good friends of anuradha murugesu"s father the famous comedy star AMR Murugesu.There are better singers who deserve to win the car like jegathesan.All his 3 songs are purely carnatic based and has a lot of sanggethis which is very difficuilt to sing yet he did very well.
  Anuradha sang three kindergarden rhyms/songs which is very easy to sing.The deewana song was bad yet the score was very high.jegathesan got lower for the superb railae song.I am sure all have noticed the deva gave 4th place for anuradha and anuradha sriram praised amutha and saravanakumar.None of them praised anuradha murugesu yet she won..ALL POLITICS!
  NEXT TIME PLEASE DONT APPOINT ANY LOCAL PEOPLE AS JUDGES.....ONLY FROM INDIA PROFESSIONALS

  By the way...the costumes worn by Sumitra and Govind really sucks!!! The next time..no more Susila Menon or Jack Nadarajah or Re. Shanmugam, but invite Lock Up, The Girls or other Malaysian Tamil rock Band who "knows" more suruthi, raagam and taalam. Ha...ha...ha.
  P/S It's time for Susila Menon and Re. Shanmugam to go to the old Folks Home!!!

  u see , i think that the choices of judjes are good. according to the NST the judjes were shocked when the results were announced.wat happened was the home viewers contest spoiled the whole thing.
  first of all u all should understand that susila menon knows sanggetham than all of us.she has sang with sp bala. even sp bala praised susila madam for her wonderful job.the girls or lock up do not know sanggetham at all and they simply shout. take a very good example, reekha raveendran. she was the music director of sanggerthanam and also geethanjali. she simply did a superb job.
  lets see the first contestant,pathiyil,he did not sing well as his voice wasn't suitable for the song. there was no talent in him because he only narrated a storywith comedies which is not really a talent. then shamini. despite could not qualify for the semis for the past two years,she did an exellent job. her voice was good and she sang very
  well. her talent was superb.saravanan wasn't that good.valarmathi has a good voice but she easily get nervous when singing.jegathisan is moderate.amutha sang very well but her acting did not lift her up. saravana kumar did well in heats and also in semis but not in the final. he was over confident.anuradha is moderate but she is not that talented compared to alinda. madan raj sang without any mistakes .he was really good. but he disappointed us as his talent was bad. kavitha is not that good but she did quite well in the finals. she is talented
  
  so i think that the first prize should go to
  shamini, second amutha, third kavitha , fourth, madan. anuradha does not deserved to be the winner.i hope in future all the judjes will discuss together and choose the best singer.stop the point system. it's not worth it. please write in if there is any comments.

  I do agree with some of the things u said, Mr Balan....but I DON"T THINK SUSILA MENON IS A GOOD SINGER. Yes, it's true that she sang with SP Bala, Surender, P.Susila...,.This does not mean she is a good singer. Don't forget that the album was hers.U said SP Bala praised her singing, how sure are u that he really meant it? I really wonder what the singers REALLY thought after singing with her. By the way....how come she didn't get any chance to sing in films in India?
  P/S Remember the SARIGAMA group? It was "famous" in early 87-91.It's her group.She sings, dances,acts and directs it. RTM used to air this programme during Deepavali.Thank god we don't see such disaster nowadays.
