wheatish
Fear has been the source of inspirations to couple of hindi films('aetbaar' being the recent one)but to me its similarity with KK ends with the obsession.
Whereas the german film comes very close..right from the abusive past to the nerd turning into a terror.

The issue is that if such an act is found in any other profession, the person who'd have been in a serious soup. Just because these guys are in the creative field, they think they can get away with murder. Can you get away with copying your neighbors answers in the exam? So how can you expect Selvaraghavan-Dhanush-YSR to get away with such degrees of plagiarism? And they get paid obscene amounts of money for this!
Its unfortunate that we dont think such acts are wrong anymore, since they've been committed by the best and that too for ages. The funny thing is the fact that we admire these people despite knowing the truth...they make money - lots of it - out of something not their own. Yes Kamal Hassan lifted Mrs Doubtfire...and he should've acknowledged the source openly and paid royalty to the original script's owner...and since he didnt do that, it makes him no better than Selvaraghavan.

Oh I know...almost all his recent films including Panchathanthiram, Magalir Mattum everything...has a Western source! And the fact is that he has adapted most of them very well...I mean the level of nativity is very high to the extent that only the basic story thread is lifted.
Thats not quite the case in KK where specific scenes and mannerisms were lifted...and boy thats a serious lack of imagination!

A simple fact to point out here. How does any of the blame fall on YSR for this? Did we blame Deva whe Kamal copied Mrs Doubtfire?
Check the logic my friends

Yuvan has copied so many songs, he comes from a musical family so we expect him to be origanal.
in deva's case he's our version of anumalik.
Even in PSaravanan a song highly reminds of its a beautiful life and where do you go?
i dont know why nobody wants Kartik raja to score.

'Check the logic'? Eh?? What kind of twisted logic are you talking of?
We're blaming both Selvaraghavan (for copying a German film's theme/ scenes etc) for KK and YSR for copying 3 songs in the same movie. Check the YSR section in www.iespana.es/i2fs/ for further details. If you are not aware of these 3 lifts - sorry dude, you're late!

Yuvan is spoiled by ARR trend so he is forced to copy.
He is the son of a genius, he has all the potential but directors are not letting him to do what he likes.
If we dont encourage ARR then this trend will change and we can see IIR in demand.

The only creativity Of SR in KK was in adding the vulgar scenes and sizzling songs. The original was devoid of all these stuff(dream scenengra perle namma oor aatkaL pandra anyayam:))
Did you guys read SRs interview in latest AV? He has boasted of receiving pages of letter from veterans like KB,BM and BR for KK :))

Karthik S, you seem to think you are some sort of authority because you have a website which lists all the copies. The simple fact is that YSR has probably got the least amount of copies than any md, so what is he happened to do 3 such songs in one movie. I still stand by that YSR did not copy Nenjodu Kalandhidu as the tune of the song is different.

Tariq,
Look at Anand Milind's section on Karthik's site. He has not listed any of teh dozen IR songs he has copied. Don't regular visitors to his site want to listen to the songs? He just 'melottama' mentions that Anand Milind have copied many IR songs. Why not list them then? In which case why list the others in the first place? He might as well mention under every MD that this MD has copied many songs and leave it at that!!! Why is this bias?

Kanna I agree with you.Anybody can say that something is copied but list each iten specifically and then we cna all listen and decide whether to agree on it.
It's all just a BS group of people who are here to find errors in others work. Let anybody go and do better music and then talk.

Karthik S ,
In response to Kannan's post, obviously he has missed out the fine print on your site which tells that you post only those lifts from sources other than Indian.
But there are also aberrations to your fineprint. You have listed a YSR lift from IR, Nadeem-Shravan's lift from Rajan-Nagendra, which are Indian to Indian lift. So maybe these should not be there on the site. And obviously people have not read the small note about Anand-Milind's inspirations and why they are not listed

hello friends...
To Tariq : One should definitely commend Mr. Karthik for his ear to listen to music from all over the globe and thank him for bringing a lot of information to light. The best part is...apart from just posting the original and the copied in his site, i2fs makes comments on what kind of lift it is, distinguishing a lift from inspiration, providing articles on the original composer, etc. It takes a lot of time and effort to do all that. So please dont say " dont think you're an authority", etc....to some extent he is, considering the amount of music he listens to. Its your view/opnion to find YSR great and if you dont find the song from KK copied...fine..its your view. No probs.
To C~P : Please post your message in English, for the simple reason, its easier to read fast. This doesnt mean, I lack Tamizh pattru, but since the script is in English, I feel I and many others would find it easier to read through quickly.
Just my two cents.
