  Even going by what AVR says IR's golden era was only upto 92 , its 9 years since then ARR took over and deva doing the most no of movies in a year, why none of them gave a chance to AVR, why is he not able to say anything about that "katru yarukkum sondhamillai""isai yarukum sondhamilla" adhe pola IR mattume MD illai, if he says he has song in manmadha leelai , y was he not able to get any other chance from MSV

  If you see AVR came into limelight sometime in mid 70's, msv's tenure was almost coming to an end.
  If i remember AVR did sing in a movie called
  Sri krishna leela (if my memory is correct, i dont remember the MD)
  I feel his peak was during IRs period. Like every other singer he must have tried. Also he was a busy man performing many stage shows.
  What ever said and done, AVR has every right to complain, As Rajag put it rightly, he should have been used or tried atleast for his talent.
  
  to answer your next question, In this interview he has also mentioned few mordern musicians who he sang for recently.
  
  TK kala once said she has not been used properly by the industry, it is a pity AVR being a natural tamil singer, not even being tried by composers.
  
  What ever, I stil enjoy his voice, one of my main motivation to become a musician was seeing him and his band perform on stage.

  Whether or not IR really insulted AVR, let's get one thing straight.
  I have been listening to AVR's voice since 1973.
  While AVR had a good, distinctive & melodious voice when he was singing for the Kamesh-Rajamani troupe, he lost out his voice subsequently and by the time he sang for "manmadha Leelai" his voice had already deteriorated.
  That's why he did not get recognised by any TF MDs
  not even by Shankar-Ganesh,V.kumar etc.,.MSV also did not give him another song.also in manmada leelai the bigest hit song was"manaivi Amaivadhellam" by KJY.iNfact KVM did not give him any chance.why pick on only IR?
  
  IN the later years there is no question. Infact UMA is a better singer than many of the pampered singers of today. But why ARR/deva/SAR never gave any chance to her.
  AVR should have thought about thse things before making allegations on any MD.

  sunder your point on why pick IR ? agreed!, it is his wish to pick someone who he feels he was ill treated.
  We cannot question that. It is an inteview, he has every right to comment.
  But your statement "His voice deteriorated is not acceptable" that too in 70's...I feel you have not heard him enough to come to this conclusion.
  
  imho:One of the the best quality of AVRs is he can just imitate most singers, this might be a reason for composers to have second thoughts. other than that i dont anything so called weakness in this voice.
  Also there was push and pull! behind!, Part of life..
  
  As a fan of tamil music, imho When bhavadharani or malaysia vasu or infact vadivelu or rajini
  could be used, why not AVR?...who sings by far superior.
  
  There was a cold or a silent war!...Like Shreeni, AVR is one such victim for bad timing (might not be just IR here), he is the first (AVR-IR) to point it out!... IR will not care!...he know his way so does AVR. There ends the matter.

  I am sure there are interviews published elsewhere on net why IR did give chances to the spouses of famous singers... AVR is another GA. Talks too much, unnecessarily. Our TMS came and said recently IR used him to climb up the ladder. Fortunately AVR did not mention IR became because of the popular songs of Uma.
  
  Talent can be a factor for getting an oppotunity. I have not listened to any of AVR film songs including that Manmatha Leelai, which had 2 hit songs (Manaivi amaivathellam and Hello My dear).
  During the interview he says he stayed with our Deva while looking for filmi chance and used to sing in Deva's troupe. But why even Deva did not give him a chance. Is his voice so bad than Deva?
  
  If AVR thought he could not grow because of IR, then he is damn wrong. If IR did not try, then he would be playing in the streets of some village as he did before. There are numerous examples. If IR did not like him, then why giving a chance to Uma?
  
  May be one thing I can speak in favour of AVR. IR ninaithu irunthaal oru kazhuthaiyai kooda paadakara aakki irukkalaam. May AVR thought that way.
  
  BTW his achievement of Saptha Swarangal. That show produced some good young talents who are singing chorus for ARR. (AVR mentioned this in the interview).

  And for those intelligent comparision of When Bhavadharini, Rajini, Vadivelu, Udit, Sukhvir sing why not AVR?

  'Yaaroo Azaiththathupol' from Sishya is sung by HariHaran, Uma RamaNan (MD : Deva)
  
  'Pooththirukkum Vanamee vanamee' from Puthaiyal is by KJY(?), Uma RamaNan (MD : VidyaSagar)
  
  These are the two non-IR UmaRamaNan songs I could remember in recent days, Is there anything else ?

  avr is suitable for katcheris only. fortunately he doesn't sing in sapthaswarangal. that prog. is good and it made him famous, instead of him known as uma's husband!
  
  a good many people could claim that ir didn't give them a choice. if they were given choices, the legend of spb will not be there. that is life.

  GUYS,
  First avr is not a IR hater. Sapatasawarangal watchers will know how much credit Avr gives to IR. Even though its not realy needed he will bring up IR's name for a song. And IR's songs are biggest bread winners for his program.
  
  IR refusing to some one is not new. He even have refused vijay's dad request to make Vijay sing, though he is a hyped up marketable actor and vijay family is frnd of IR from old days. ( That doesnt make vijay to accept IR as his fav MD ).
  
  But!, I dont know what makes IR realy refuse something like that.
  
  IR point of view,
  May be, 1) One thing may be if he gives way to people like AVR, tommorow some XYZ will come up with similar request and put IR in embarasing position. 2) AVR could have asked smaller MDs fisrt, if he wants such a chance. There were many.
  3) IR might have thought AVR is desparate for a chance and using a silly excuse, without understanding the chinna asai of AVR.
  
  AVR side.
  1) IR has made so many ametuers sing. Including his sons, brothers, nephews, actors and what not. What makes AVR so bad? 2) I think AVR's family had prior relationship before IR hit the stardom, its a insult to shoo himoff like that. 3) He had a personal reason than just a chance. 4) He could have done it with chandrabose or manoj kiyan, but singing IR song is something!.
  
  Personnaly, Iam a big IR fan. He is an idol and inspiration for me by many ways. But, please drop your fanatism for a while and scrutise this. Just dont throw BS.

  Jobless IR now started doing BGM and rerecording for Hindi movies...Lajja...the flop had IR...for BGM...And Ahathiyan who had the music sent by NADEEM from London had...the jobless Beta Karthick Raaja do the BGM..for THE super flop HINDI version of Gokulathil Seethai....Hum ho gaye aap ke...for a mere 50000 rupees...Soon we may hearIR doing title and other music for some irrelavant TV serial...just after we hear Saptha swarangal...

  probably one of the first things an aryist should get used to. read scorcese on scorcese u will now.
  
  but i understand how u feel and your pain :-)
  
  about 5 years of untiring hardwork and dedication by an artist can be shooed away by the public (that too by a person who doesnt know the abc of stuff) in less than 5 secs... thats the gamble of being in public life...
  
  i can see u can empathise with what it means, being AVR, sometimes it can make u wonder if end does justify the means... :-)

  Recording a song in a studio is vry different from singing on the stage. I know many singers from college etc excelled on the stage. When went for mike testing in a recording studio - they failed. AVR belongs to this category. He has been trying to sing with IR for the last 15 years. Uma has sweet voice - she excelled on stage and in recording studio. The fact that no other music director took him is a surprise.
  
  For that matter, telugu MD Mani Sharma used to play keyboard for many years in AVR's troupe. He used to do part time. Why is'nt Mani Sharma trying AVR? any guesses? They are thick as friends (as I hear)!! Why not try Uma in the next film with Vijay? The options are many now - so much new talent around.
