Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::
Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.
Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.
In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.
Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.
For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

Dear C~P,
that was my own theory..that's all..he he he..
coz i read that there was a protest staged in North to avoid Salman Khan to act as Lord Ram..as Salman is a muslim....so may be to avoid such similar sentiments, Shankar and ARR..deliberately avoided this kinda sensitive issue...
it's only a guess...

Hello There,
I definitely thought the movie was enjoyable because I went to the movies with my friends. Two of my friends were French who don't understand Tamil, but they still liked the movie.
Though I must admit, my parents would be scandalised if they see the film!

What the heck is this! Its a piece of shit!
What does Shankar and his crew think of the youth of today????
Drunkards, sex maniacs??? And all that they portray is to dump one's parents and run away and marry?
IT's time movies like this are banned and do they think they are promoting love???? they are showcasing women as a vending machine for supply of physical pleasure???
Dont commit a sin by watching this movie.
WE must protest such movies... the movie is completely about drinking, total disrespect to parents, and promote women as sex machines...
I am ashamed a tamil film came out like this...
Complete lack of morals...probably shankar and his crew wanted to show people "How not to live"
THat should not be the attitude when the reach is sooo huge and wide, as it is for tamil films.
Finger to Boys!

raj,
Shankar has just portrayed what is going on with the present youth....wat he has said need not apply to all....some/most of what he has said definitely holds good...i heard TI too propogates the same morals!! ... disrespect to parents? ... ennappa solreenga???

I really don't think much of what they said was disrespectful at that age that's how it is.Parents and kids quarrel. It's not that they hated their parents their views were different. Like the girl she didn't want to end up like her dad still stuck with memories, and the guy wanted to show that you don't have to give up living well if you fall in love.

Tulluvatho Ilamai & Boys
Similarity:
1.Both the movies are delayed for years due to some reason.
2. Both are hit by moviewise and songs.
3.Both are similar story.
Difference
After TI danush become No.1 actor. YSR became No.1 MD.
Will it happen with boys.

I have read many good review of Boys.I do not believe the movie is bad.I really enjoyed it.It basically depends on what kind of person you are.I mean if you are terrified of the word sex and it'll kill your virgin ears then well I wouldn't recommend it to you however if the word sex doesn't kill you then you'll enjoy the movie. Basically it's about young adults learning lessons of life when they throw everything they have away for what they want.

Piratheepan,
I'm not debating on the usage of sex (from reviews I think it is some American Pie kind of sex). To me it is vulger. I't ok for me to talk sex to friends, but not with my parents (Obviously, Kadavule... Ivvalavu solla vendi irukkuthunga!!!)
Certain things are not expected from a Shankar's movie. Idam Porul Irukkuthillingala?

Well all i have to say venki is it is no where close to being in the same genre as American Pie. Hehehe where do you live?If you look at the rating it's rated R for american pie. Where as if you were to rate BOYS itd prolli be pg-13.

Guys critizing this movie, (I havent seen yet but going by reviews and comments), Have guys never talk such sleezy stuff with your friends?. Nexver read a porn movie or books?. You all grew up in some madam?. Now, why do you shout if it comes in a movie?. Hypocrites!.
Just because young guys talk filthy, doesnt mean they are manics. Its just natural and potraying in a movie is not something to be forbidden. Just grow up!.

Boys review on Fullhyd.com:
"...I found it a little difficult to believe that such plainly pedestrian music could be A R Rahman's. At times, I felt I was part of a live audience being subjected to the first ever show of 'When music directors attack'. The songs reeked of a wannabe hiphop and rock feel, which made them basically an assault on the senses. And the dancing… either the choreography was really bad or the actors are just begging to have Shiamak Davar on speed dial - on bad dancing emergency call."

I have no problem with shankar or anybody else making such movies. I personally am dissapointed because i thought this guy was different. one can take anything as a theme and make a movie out of it. also, the way the theme is handled is important. here not only the theme is handled to titiilate in a crass manner, but also the resolution is achieved in a unconvincing manner.
moral of the story is, you can fool around all your teenage life and still be succesful.
there is no need for any justification of what the dir is doing coz i understand fully well what he is doing
i can can't help but compare this movie with the 90s crap "indhu".
