We are happy to inform you that we are making all arrangements to launch the channel as soon as the formalities are all tied up.
As they say 'The best things in life are worth waiting for'. So wait and watch out for SUNWORLDTV, The test signals are underway, We will be on air soon.
A lot of you have requested that we use the platforms used by Zee and Sony as you have these connection already or plan to take these connections.
Much as we understand your problems with regards to having to purchase an extra satellite dish, which would, not only mean extra costs but also extra space. We must inform you that the DirectTV network and Dish Network are not enthusiastic about starting another Indian channel.
They do not believe that the South Indian community is large enough to take up that kind of programming. They are reluctantly committing approximately 4 hours of programs for all the four languages, which is not sufficient at all.
Our plan is to start as a 24-hour channel for the four languages together first and then slowly move to having 24 hour programming for each language. To do this we need to get on a platform, which is open to such expansions.
The Japanese channel comes on a platform which does not have too many channels but the Japanese people in the USA have supported the platform and proved that what is important is not the platform but the program that they want to see.
We hope that the South Indians in the USA and Canada will also take the Japanese approach and look at the program and not the platform. We are in the process of striking a deal with 'Telstar' and we are also negotiating a good deal with the satellite dish agents to give us a good deal on the dish or absorb a part of the dish cost. With regards to the subscription fee we are looking at a upper point of US$ 19.99 per month.
We hope to keep updating you very regularly as we make progress on various activities.

You know even the sales rep at sun tv is so nervous to talk to this prakash guy. I had asked her for my money back. She says there is no way they will refund me the money. She asked me to call back right away and ask the receptionist for prakash. Calling canada directly again. Stupid jerks have disconnected their 800 number. What is going on? This prakash guy needs to go bankrupt. WE must do something. I have put in 250/- dollars in this mess. I am going to dispute the charges w/ the credit card agency. There is no other way. I have had the dish for a month and none of the satellite installers care to do so. They say the allphastar dish is out of busineesss.
Then the suntv ppl had referred me to this desi installer in my area. The desi installer told me to return the dish since the suntv ppl are gonna come out w/ a new satellite dish. What is going on here?
I am so frustrated w/ these suntv jerks that i wish something happens and prakash sinks. May be all of us together can do something.

ha I like the way this sounds... fresh and furious :) Chamundeshwari, we have had sun tv for over 3 months now and it is not sun tv anymore - it is "tamil televison and radio" - I was trying to get some information from Better Business Bureau as to what we need to do. If you could find out some information, them am sure we could all do something about this. They not only charged me twice for this crap(once for defective merchandise :)). I have nearly 500 dollars at stake :) I still am fighting to get money back for the wrong transaction and like you said cant get hold of the jerk prakash and nobody else knows anything there !!!

Fresh and furious as it sounds..it is very true! Why don't u dispute your charges w/ the credit card u used??? And they will handle these people from there on.

What did you find out from the better business bureau?? Is this suntv company registered in the US?
did they give any suggestions???
Disputing charges will make sure that prakash reimburses all charges made. This will then prevent them to make any transactions with credit card companies..
please tell me what the business bureau has said

Hi Everybody,
I am also one of the unfortunate ones who have SUNTV( can I call it that anymore ???).
I just got the card they sent on aug 3rd. Since I did not get the card till the 28th I called and they said they will send a duplicate one by registered mail. Yesterday I got the card that they sent on3rd aug. With great difficulty installed the new card after several futile tries
and calls to ATN.
So I asked the billing lady to give me credit for the days I did not get service, The lady cooly answered me that since we sent you a duplicate card send it it back once you receive, and the postage will be paid by ATN and that is my credit, can you buy that. To top it all she said it was my fault that I did not get the card.
I was so mad , I just banged the phone down. Even
now with just few hours of watching, the SUNTV?/
keeps coming and going.
Kindly include my name too if anyone if anyone finds any info from Business Bureau, I will try doing also.
by the way if only I can lay my hands on that Prakash guy, he had it from me. What a jerk he is

guys: I had called Sun TV today as I could not see any programs - the Prakash guy picked up the phone and I recognised his voice right away as I have had enough encounters with that jerk. I asked if he was Prakash and he told me cooly that Prakash is his nephew and that he is out. I then told him that I recognised his voice to which he did not respond and he put me through to "Prakash's" voice mail!!!! am so sick and tired of handling these morons... that I left a threatening message on that guy's voice mail (not that it would work!) - I did tell him that a bunch of us are planning to take action and complain to BBB.
Jay and Chamundeswari, I am trying to collect all information about/from BBB and how to deal with these people. Would post them as soon as I have something concrete. In the mean time if you guys could find out some more info that would be great! I have called up my credit card company and they have agreed to investigate my case. But I am not too sure what they could do as these people had taken money out of my account in May for the defective merchandise.
SunWorld(the so called!) is part of ATN and it is registered in Canada. I am trying to get information on dealing with fradulent business practices in Canada and would let you guys know about that soon. I do have a phone number and address for now :).

I was also told that if they do business in a state in USA, you could complain to the Attorney General's office in that state!!

iniki i spoke to surya, the supervisor for customer service, and demanded my money back. She said there is no way. Then she transferred me to kathy, a product return clerk, who reiterated the same thing. I got so frustrated adn demanded i speak to prakash naidu.

This is all you have to do.. Just callthe credit card company, dispute your charges. In future, if anyone tries to get suntv product, the credit card will not let anyone charge on their card. This is a minor attack on prakash naidu. will keep you posted. Thanks isai rasigai foryourinfo

I called the credit card agency today. Said they will dispute the charges and get back w/ me in 2-4 weeks. I am not gonna send the product either because the staff at suntv said they don't care. They better not send me any monthly bills.
