We are happy to inform you that we are making all arrangements to launch the channel as soon as the formalities are all tied up.

As they say 'The best things in life are worth waiting for'. So wait and watch out for SUNWORLDTV, The test signals are underway, We will be on air soon.

A lot of you have requested that we use the platforms used by Zee and Sony as you have these connection already or plan to take these connections.

Much as we understand your problems with regards to having to purchase an extra satellite dish, which would, not only mean extra costs but also extra space. We must inform you that the DirectTV network and Dish Network are not enthusiastic about starting another Indian channel.

They do not believe that the South Indian community is large enough to take up that kind of programming. They are reluctantly committing approximately 4 hours of programs for all the four languages, which is not sufficient at all.

Our plan is to start as a 24-hour channel for the four languages together first and then slowly move to having 24 hour programming for each language. To do this we need to get on a platform, which is open to such expansions.

The Japanese channel comes on a platform which does not have too many channels but the Japanese people in the USA have supported the platform and proved that what is important is not the platform but the program that they want to see.

We hope that the South Indians in the USA and Canada will also take the Japanese approach and look at the program and not the platform. We are in the process of striking a deal with 'Telstar' and we are also negotiating a good deal with the satellite dish agents to give us a good deal on the dish or absorb a part of the dish cost. With regards to the subscription fee we are looking at a upper point of US$ 19.99 per month.

We hope to keep updating you very regularly as we make progress on various activities.

  Do your tapes come with unplanned, unannounced and abrupt interruptions with repetitive publicity on SUN, Udaya, Surya, and Gemini TV. If not, you might find this a tough sale:-)

  BTW, I have a question for people who have installed Sun TV. Is the reception bad (continuous interruptions in the satellite signals - cannot see anything when it rains, or snows or when it is windy) or is it just ours that has not been installed properly? I am in no hurry to fix this as it sucks even otherwise... but do let me know if this just for me or true for everybody!

  You betcha !! The reception sucks ! Very poor signals. Can not view anything even if it starts drizzling. Can not view program when the Microwave is turned on (do you have this problem ?). Strange but true !!!

  I have not had reception problems except once when we had a storm. However, there have been many instances when I wish the reception was bad:-)
  
  BTW, please write to prakash@asiantelevision.com and copy info@sunworldtv.com and give him/them a piece of your mind and insist that you will actively dissuade prospective customers from subscribing to SUN TV, unless they can show remarkable improvement in their broadcast quality. Remember, the Indian Corporation never works for the individual consumer interests, so we have to show collective strength.

  my friend has this strange probelm occasionally: no audio! many times, there'll only the picture and a CLEAR(:-)) sound! the other junk channels that come with SUN-TV free dont seem to suffer from this.
  
  since the programs are repetitions anyway, you wouldn't need audio :-)

  I just copied everything that is being said in this thread and have sent a mail to that stupid guy prakash and also another mail to info@sunworld.com. disgusting to the core... I dont think avangalukku uraikkum nnu... no soodu no sornai people!
  
  many people have asked me why I am still holding on to Sun World when it sucks this bad.... anybody wanna answer that question for me?!! nijamaana answer would be stomach burning! having spent so much money for the dish and installation - do we give up so soon!?

  Why don't you(affected)guys file a lawsuit against SUNTV under Consumer law . I guess thatz worth it. I bet you get ur Dish-cash/and a whopping money for all the trauma caused. Guys in US has Nice chance to increase thier bank balance. Wake UP Boyz!!.

  I recd. my new card one week back. Now they have made lot of changes in the sunworldtv programs. They are relaying programs of a new satellite tv called TRT(Tamil Radio Television) along with Suntv programs. I think, TRT is a tamil satellite tv in the European countries and TRT programs are real good. And a surprising thing here is, they are relaying 24 hrs tamil programs, no telugu, malayalam or Kannada programs. I wonder the situation of the Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada guys who have installed this sunworldtv. We couldn't guess what's going on.

  I received my new card a week back and like Rajan said they are telecasting 24 hours tamil programs. I called up ATN yesterday and they told me that we would be getting a combination of TRT and sun TV programs 24 hours a day henceforth. Looks like telugu people "might" (thats what he told me!) get another channel of their own!! These guys are atrocious. Poor non-tamil speaking subscribers - dont know what their fate is gonna be!
  
  The TRT programs were good on Monday. yesterday it was aweful and they repeated all the programs that were telecast in the morning starting from 6.00 pm!!! Lets wait and watch

  I am seriously thinking of taking some action against the Sun TV people. It seems to be going from bad to worse these days. They are telecasting TRT programs and all I see in the mornings and evenings is a program called "kaalai Thendral" or something and it is a neyar viruppam.
  
  I think we were are led to believe that they were going to telecast Sun TV programs and I assume that, that was the main reason we all paid big bucks for this piece of crap. Now I hardly ever see sun TV programs and am wondering if we should do something about this as they cheated us into buying this service saying it is gonna be Sun World (forget the part that used to say it is going to be live programs from April 14th!!!) and now at their own discretion, they have switched to TRT and the programming sucks even more than before!!!
  
  BB, am sorry, but please do let us vent out! I know this forum is not meant for this! Any ideas/suggestions on what we should do about this? I am game for anything!!

  I am serious. DO NOT I repeat, DO NOT take these (ATN's) verbal responses. These are merely stalling tactics. BTW as far as possible, call them Collect at 905-836-6460. After all they have made their intentions very clear about customer service by disconnecting the toll free number. Initial brodcasts for TRT suggests that this is yet another cheap movie channel. Good bye to Vanakkam Thamizhagam, Saptha SwarangaL etc. But in one way they have succeeded. I am tired of fighting with them and have become numb to their emotional abuse.

  RajaG may be we could all report ATN to BBB as suggested by Venkat. do we have enough support here for that? They are yet to return over 250 dollars of mine which they were supposed to have done a month back for defective merchandise returned!!! For me, the issues are money and bad programming
