Prashanth teams up with Laila in Shock


After Jai, Thiagarajan’s Lakshmi Shanthi Movies is all set to produce a thriller film Shock which is the remake of the silver jubilee Hindi movie Bhoot. Shock is not a horror movie but a sad story of incidents that take place in a middle class girl’s life. Prashanth is playing the lead along with Laila and Asin. After Aanazhagan, Thiagarajan is directing Prashanth in this movie. Apart from taking care of the direction, screen play and dialogues, Thiagarajan also acts as a strict police officer. Sarita comes in an important role. Kushboo, Ramya Krishna Vamsi, Sarath Babu, Raghuvaran, Sarada M.P., Virumaandi fame Pasupathy are among others cast in the movie. The story is jointly written by Shamir Sharma and Lalit Marthe. The music is scored by Saleem Sulaiman and lyrics are by Pa. Vijay. The background music which will send a chill down the spine of the viewer is being recorded in London. Cinematography is by M.V. Paneerselvam and the choreography is taken care of by Remo, Brinda and Rajasekhar. The art director is Yogamagi and editing is done by Sai Suresh. Stunt director Thalapathi Dinesh has given a new aspect to the stunt sequences.
Shock is being shot with a new technology such that it cannot be reproduced on pirated VCD and if attempted only portions of the movie would be recorded.

  newtfmpage awards postponed to November. Waiting for your Anniyan (hopefully it should be getting the Best TFMP movie) I'm taking a long break from TFMP till Nov.   For Prashant's physique a thin client wont suffice. There should be a need for thick client. Hence we cant go for web based system. It should be a lap..err..desktop application

  After the phenomenal success of Bhoot, the people in the south are taken through the same ride of terror with the movie, Shock. Director Thyagarajan treats the theme differently with no songs or light moments but with enough to keep the audience at the edge of their seats. The Tamil remake of Ram Gopal Varma`s Bhoot stars Prashanth and Meena in lead roles. Gone are the days when people loved to see a white-saree-clad ghost walking in the dense dark cemetery, with their saree `pallu` trailing in the ground and with their eyes fixed into infiinity. Added to this is the macabre atmosphere of gushing blood, screaming, lightning, gusty winds and skulls hanging around. Shock is an urban horror movie.
  There is nothing of the like in Shock, which is set in a city dwelled by a handsome population. It`s a horror movie different from the regular genre yet very much scary. There is no romance, comedy or even glamour in this movie. Read on to know more about the movie...
  Satya (Prashanth) is a stock analyst happily married to Sumi (Meena). They move into the 12th floor of a skyscraper in Chennai. But there is a lot more to the apartment than is apparent to the couple. The previous occupant had plunged to death from its balcony. But Satya does not believe in the supernatural and the couple shift into the apartment.
  Sumi is unaware of the apartment`s history but starts having nightmarish nights. She has disturbing visions which lead to a nervous breakdown. A helpless Prashanth seeks help for his loving wife. Can Meena bring to life the strongest suit of Bhoot, Urmila`s breathtaking, career-best performance? We`ll have to wait and watch. Then there was Nana Patekar`s character a one-dimensional but well enacted role. Even Fardeen Khan managed to leave an impression in Bhoot. Added to this was the award-winning Seema Biswas who did the role of a servant to pefection. In the Tamil version Thyagarajan plays the cop who investigates the case. Salim-Sulaiman has scored the background score. In her 25 years of acting in over 100 films Meena says that her role in Shock is entirely different and challenging. The actress had shed a few kilos for the role and is all excited about the film. Prashanth also finds this project vital and hopes that Shock will give him that elusive hit.
