Why ManiRatnam left IR

Why did MR left IR.
Reason bhhind it is what is expected.

  swamiji is over eager to stamp his superiority here.. he is so desparate to show to us all that that he is spending his time more useful than us..
  
  he is also very very over eager to announce to us the correct way of managing time...
  
  poor bumpkin he thinks that he is somehow better than us and he thinks he is this angel who is watching with sympathy us insects or worms..
  
  is'nt that correct swamiji... don't u simply feel awfully superior and smug when u make ur postings...
  
  according to u we think we r spending some useful time...having critisized that and after saying that this forum is a waste of time... checking every nano second and also taking care to post on a huge waste of time shows how occupied u r..

  bharath if you are so curious, just go to "Who's browsing" update and check my IP address. See if it updates after every nanosecond.
  If you were a little brighter u know that nano-second is a time scale attributed to sub atomic particles. The only mechanics that prevails there is still muddy, and it is called quantum mechanics. This web page takes about 10 billion nano-seconds to load = 1 second, so I cannot physically refresh it so many times.
  BTW, enjoy your cheap politics - and yes I am about 10 billion times smarter than u are.

  swamiji replied twice within 19 minutes of my posting.. it simply shows how busy he is... given the time an average idiot like swamiji takes to think up a reply and then ask someone closeby to transalate his vaccuous thoughts into english.. 2 posting in 19 mins is relatively fast...
  
  but the nano second lecture was good. sad that he only has a person close by who can tell him things abt physics... if swamiji consulted a personwho knew english that probably he might tell something regarding "metaphors" in english ... but then swamiji is'nt all gifted

  Mani Ratnam is one of the most respected directors in India who has given us good films. He has a keen sense of music and is a very humble person, despite his success. He worked with IR for a long time because IR was ruling the industry then, churning out hit after hit. There was no competition for him then. But deep inside, I'm sure Mani must have so wanted to work with another MD, given IR's arrogance and narrow-minded approach to music and people. So what exactly happened during the making of "Dalapathi" - the last movie for which MR used IR (thank god for that!)?? Can anyone throw some light on this?

  See the diff between Kamal and Mani. If Kamal find at the eleventh hour, not comfortable with LS for HeyRam, he even prepared to neglect all songs, BGM and even prepared to reshoot songs that were set for prev tunes. If mani is so pissed off with IR during Thalapahi, bloody he should have stepped out of the movie itself or convinced his producer/brother to comeout of IR. Rakkamma is one of the best songs ever made in history of IFM. He used best of the best songs for IR and broken the partnership.
  
  The above post just indicate the diff in approach. I am of the view, directors should have liberty in choosing technicians.

  I am not sure, what you guys gain by fighting so much. Even IR ARR and Mani wont be making so much analysis and fighting. They are busy with their profession and succeeding in what they do.

  If MR had all the arrogance & ego of Kamal, he would've probably done the same with IR, assuming, he was "pissed off". But then, that's exactly the difference between MR and Kamal.
  
  We still don't know if there was a rift between IR and MR. Rakamma is definitely a great song and IR a great MD with an uncanny sense of music. There's no doubt about it. But I believe, MR did the right thing in opting to work with ARR for Roja. Not only was TFM and India blessed with a new brilliant MD but there was also an emergence of new MDs, singers, technicians etc, who no one even heard about until then.

  as far as i know, IR left mani beacuse of late GV. When the rerecording of the film was going on, IR's mother wanted to see IR (or rerecording of IR) and GV told her that he is busy and asked her to wait. He didnt even tell IR about this. later when he came to know about this he felt bad. Because of his mother he is at this situation and felt insulted. So he left them. If a person cant respect others parents this is what will happen. See after this GV never gave a hit which is talked by people and mani should also feel for it.

  The best thing is both IR and MR left fans high and dry without talking anything about the issue. People come with their own assumptions and theory of why the rift has happened.
  
  As for GV, in one of his interview in a magazine(in kumudam I think) told his recent favourite song is "Vanaville" from Ramanaa. This was before a month of his Suicide. He also told IR is his all time favourite and as far as music goes IR is yesterday, today and tomorrow. So I don't think GV had a rift with IR.
  
  However, ARR introduction should be welcome. He has also done a fab job in songs, but rerecording IR still rules.

  Regarding IR's arrogance, it could be magazines projection as he was very restrictive in talking to magazines, unlike others who crave for popularity. This was unlike any cine personality and lot of journalists got offended by this.
  
  On the otherhand, he has very good integrity, loyalty. Both on the days when he was at peak or now, he always was ready to work with new comer. Sethu Bala is his find and even in Sethu(according to Bala), he gave so many options for Bala to choose songs. If a person has arrogance, a new comer will not get this kind of treatment. He is helping Ramarajan and Rajkiran when they are down. These are all some good traits which don't match with magazine's projection that he is arrogant.
  
  However, as he is very restrictive in talking, his PR is really bad.
