Why did MR left IR.
Reason bhhind it is what is expected.

  Those are applicable when the thread makes some sense.. if a thread makes no sense, i will try to understand it,still if i find it is stupid, simply I will stay away....not call names to show my anger, I think you are having too much coffee's these days, relax man :)
  
  bharath, most of the mgr movies were not explained to the Md b4 hand , no one knows about it:), md's compose about 10 - 20 tunes,
  gives it to mgr, he picks few from it up..shoots movie based on that...that song lyrics has to be releated a little with little added glory and advice.
  Like wise for IR, I have heard many ramarajan movies were taken based on IR's score.
  
  Coming back to topic, I feel the reason mani went towards arr was to try a newtalent, then seeing his sucess (which he not expect!) he went again to him for business purpose.
  some say songs would have had the similar "good" quality even if IR or anyone else had scored for some mani's later movies. whats your opinion ?

  Can you imagine a song with the word 'rahman' in it? It is easy to incorporate words like 'raajaa', 'raasaiyyaa', 'raagadEven' or even 'iLaiyaraajaa' in tamil songs. It is difficult to include 'rahman'. Otherwise the sycophants of the industry would have used every oppurtunity to do that.
  
  More over, even if ARR was called 'ravi' or 'kumar', the adulations would have been less. These days TF industry is very cautious in not being over-dependant on anyone.

  My point is: Even if ARR wants a similar recognition, it will be difficult to include his name into a song or dialogue. 'raajaa' blends more smoothly than 'rahman'.

  I don't think that's true.If I'm right IR is a deeply spiritual reason.So, it wouldn't be difficult for him to conclude that the recognition one gets is an illusion.

  i take the cinematographer e.g.. mani seems to bring the best out of cinematographers although, PCS, santosham sivan, madhoo ambhat, rajeev menon are camera men of good repute they seem to go that extra dimension with MR
  
  Deva went up a notch in "aasai" and "nerrukku ner" , yes he again copied, but even in copying he went up a notch and made quality copies... :-)
  
  I personally think adithyan is a good MD and "amaran" was a good album. he just does not have good movies to propel him. I think Mani some how gets good music done. so does bharathiraja...
  i remember an adithyan interview saying MR does not select him at all and adithyan said he wud do wonders if he got opportunities under big directors...
  
  
  I was abt to talk abt "superstar" oriented movies...
  
  in the previous posting, I mentioned abt the director being able to motivate the MD. so the assumption is for an MD to give good music he needs

  here the motivation is simply the demand to satisfy the want of the largest auidience of TN.
  
  Rajini, Kamal movie bring out the best in IR. It is as though the entire movie is irrelevant. Infact Kamal->SPB->IR is one of the rare and best combos in TFM. same with Rajini. IR seems to have his best reserved for these 2 stars. I wud say its very savvy of IR bcoz he knows it will reach all "patti thottis" so IR's already high reputation will remain intact. stars are often a effective way to reach the masses bcoz 60% of TN population will get to see thier products...
  
  same is the case with MGR... The movie itself is based on MGR rather than the story and mostly the movie is propoganda oriented... so is the case with rajini where everything else takes a back seat compared to the Stars image... It makes the job easier for the MD. He can think that he is making and independent album.. and with minimal knowledge (like 2 solo and 3 duets) he can make music...
  
  the MD will have enugh motivation... because he knows that album will be judged by the largest audience of TN. He has to give good music bcoz otherwise its a highway to hell...
  
  so thats motivation enugh .. as shane warne said " playing for australia itself is pressurising enugh... so I dont need any extra motivation.."
  
  which is the reason why i think stars get good songs... plus I dont think as far as tune is concerned MGR gave good songs ... the lyrics stole the show...
  
  but kamal and rajini always got good songs even if their movies were average (e.g singaravelan, kalaignan, muthu, valli)
  
  although same cannot be said abt ARR and kamal/rajini... the hits he gives with them are not that sensational...

  I remember a speech given by ilayaraja in a function (university) where he said that nobody was able to appreciate his music.And even the hungary people were astonished by his speed and compared him to beethoven.
  
  
  why do u think he would have said this?i agree he is a spiritual person.but that does'nt mean he does not have ego!?i think it is natural.Even though he is a isai gnani we cannot accept him to be a spiritual gnani. a spiritual gnani should be unaffected by the bickerings of the world i feel.thyagarajar is both a isai gnani and spritual gnani.he had his devotion to god as his backing.Ilayaraja,may be,is in the learning process and would have to make mistakes and learn from it.He must be knowing that words are deeds and words he said in every interview against anybody for that matter are deeds and cannot be taken back...this applies to everybody though..e.ven rahman is in a learning stage.we should wish them good luck in their spiritual /musical journey
