All times in EST +10:30 for IST.
I listened to VandeMatharam in which ARR recycled his own tunes from Kizhakku Ceemayile and a touch of a song from Indira.
Also ARR's recent movies for big time producers like Ratchagan and Iruvar (except one song) and Dhoud in Hindi did not have any notable music. Remember ARRs last hit Minsarak Kanavu music was done long time ago.
If for a major album for Sony released on 50th year of Indian Independence, ARR cannot produce original music, then I have to come to the conclusion that he is running out of stuff. I heard that ARR is planning to cut down on movies and concentrate more on albums. Thus he will have to produce less and earn more.
Right now I do not see any difference in the quality of music produced by ARR and Karthik Raja. In fact I think Deva is doing a better job of providing consistant good quality music.

KANNADASAN ALSO DID THE SAME THING I THINK SO.
SIMILAR EFFECT YOU CAN FIND IN ARR.
HE IS A GIFT TO MUSIC WORLD.
HE EVEN PENETRATE TO ALL THE PEOPLE BY MUSIC.
NO ONE CAN BEAT HIS EFFORT WHAT HE IS DOING.

ARR Fan,
Cassette sales are not indicative of quality - especially these days. First there is a hype surrounding ARR's new release. He releases fewer albums and defnitely not prolific like IR or MSV in their prime. Please! let's not get into a IR vs. ARR vs. MSV. I like the 'good' music provided by all of them. I will say this about myself - I do not 'discover' new, good qualities in a song/cassette based on its sales statistics. By the same token if nobody bought the songs from Pudhiya Mugham - it is still awesome. I feel that discerning fans of music like Udhaya, Karthi,Srikanth, Srinath, Chandy, Raj, rameshb, SM, MS etc. (in no particular order and not an exclusive list) belong to the same school. At least that is the opinion I have of them, from reading their posts. Please do not hope to provoke any of the DFers by listing (flapping your chest) about cassette sales. We will never have meaningful discussions.

Well looks like ARR is getting the grind as usual.
I am just wondering why rajini is still sticking to ARR if his music lacks quality.
I do not understand why kamal did a movie with ARR though he considered that IR was a much better musician, and when the music was a great hit he openly appreciated ARR.
But until then let us sit back and enjoy ARR's latest renderings.

couple stuffs thing ive gotta say:
i listened to 3 songs so far from padAYYAPPA.
the nithyashree one
vetri vetri (or something like that)
and oh oh kikku aru thai.
the last one has a very tiny bit sounding like kaanai ketti kolladhai from iruvar.
the other two are not bad for a first listen. kikkku is pretty catchy for a first listen.
i am sure when i listen a couple more times it would be better than MUTHU

Noordheen,
Can you explain what mistakes KANNADASAN made which ARR is doing now. KD never copied from Western Lyrics, never did cut and paste work. He was very much original. Stop these kind of comarisons

MS,
I understand your resentment at ARR Fan comparing this forum to TTV forum on Indolink. But, did you really have to use such strong language?
Why/how is it more civilised to call someone a 'red savage' is English, but very uncivilised to call some one a 'k*sm**l*m' is Tamil? Does speaking fluent English make a person more civilised?
I have come across postings on this forum where people were discussing elaborately about other peoples posteriors. Is that the mark of a civilised discussion?
I frequent both this forum and the TTV forum. The musical knowledge of some poeple on this forum (eg: Raj, Srikanth etc.) is astounding. One the other hand, this forum also has it's share of loud mouths, for lack of a better term.
There are very few regulars on TTV forum. And the regulars are very 'civilsed' and friendly in their choice of words. They are more like a family. But, sadly, TTV also has its share of loud mouths most of whom just drop in once in a while to say their 2 cents worth.
It was very unbecoming of a civilised person to make such sweeping generalisations as you did.
Regards,
Kooththan
PS:
I don't consider TTV to be Pro-ARR. We have our ARR vs IR fights too :-)

koothan:
I'd like to hear more about Raj's musical knowledge. Why me, in fact, even Raj would love to learn more about his musical knowledge :-))) And BTW, that was not "Red Savage", but "read Savage" - i.e., read as savage, interpret as savage. MS was contemplating if "savage" would be a more apt description. I think MS would be the last person to compromise on politeness, trust me on this one :-)))
Guys:
Inimel, no more ARR bashing. AMMA has given her verdict - she likes ARR !

Srinath, great. Every interviewer in this country want to ask if someone likes ARR. I don't understand why this stupid question. Can't those stupid interviewers ask for a change, how is that everyone likes ARR's music. Why? Whyey? Whyeye? This ARR thing is going too far.

I just got a transatlantic cellular phone urgent call like panic call. It seems Padaiyappa songs are being played in JJ Temple, JJ buses and JJ theatres. Of course, JJ is now hates ARR's songs.

I missed this gem of yours !

:-)))
That was an exchange between myself and a guy called Ram. It did end rather civilly when he wanted to know why he was considered guilty of using profanity and I explained it to him. Ram, my dear, is not a regular at DF. There was no elaborate description of posteriors as you claim here. There is a difference between reparteeing and calling each other names. Name calling is not part of DF - mind you, I do not know about your TTV and hence am not commenting on that. When people here lose their cool, there is still a sense of belonging - that is, it is like internal feud. The few loud-mouths that you mention are ignored for the large part. OTOH, the fights between the regulars churn up a whole lot of information that might otherwise be ignored. I doubt that that would be the case with other forums (and I have been around the net quite a lot !) I do feel bad that a little indiscretion on my part compels you to slur the whole of the DF community. But I can atleast take solace in the fact there are very few places in the world where one would only feel happy to stand up and take responsibility for one's actions - the DF is one such place. (Gawd ! I already feel like Clinton ;-))))

And about the tamilmovies.com forum, please don't ever compare it with even indolink forum, let alone our DF. The way people express their opinions there is more than what a regular TFM DFer can digest. There are some people who are really polite there also. But, the majority of the people there often use filthy words to counter another. And, there are some ARR Fans also, like you, who just throw harsh, sweeping statements on IR and his music and his fans without any proper reason.

This is only for a joke because ARR makes me feel funny or frustrated because of expectations. Shall we call ARR - ORR or TRR? Over rated Rahman. should i expand TRR?
