"The album kicks in with the very catchy ye ye ennachu sung by Vasundhara Das in manner that only she can. Next is a beauty of a ballad sonnalum by Unnikrishnan and Harini.
Vaan nila by Srinivas and Karthik is a highly innovative rock-n-roll track that would not let your feet rest. S P Balu is in his usual fantastic form in the heart warming yenthan vanin. Rahman takes off again into a very progressive FTV style track in bailmore with T R Simbu and Tippu doing the vocal honours. And the album ends on a grand note with Mano and Clinton going for the gut with o kadhale, which also sits on an emotional high note in the movie.
Kaadhal Virus has all the ingredients of a typical Kathir-A R Rahman soundtrack. A great mix of upbeat youthful tracks and soulful ballads"

Hey what happened to you, Are u caught by the Virus ???
http://lazygeek.blogspot.com/
Hey!! Hey!! Enna aachu unakku [Hey, what happened to you] is the most talked about song in the Tamil world. A R Rahman coming back with his youthful tune and Vasundra Das rocking the teenagers world with her shakalaka voice in the movie Kadhal Virus. Similar song to the one in Nayak [Mudhalvan in Tamil], this has a hip-hop tune and in the lyrics the girl asking her guys to be of certain principles and qualities, many of them are youthful and some really useful.
This is A R Rahman's come back music after Bombay Dreams because his music for Baba [Rajinikanth's latest movie] was criticized for lack of attention given to songs and background score. The movie also sports 5 more songs each of a different variety. TR Simbu, the latest addition to the youngster heroes in tamil has contributed a techno song to this movie called 'Bailamore'. 'Vaannila' by Srinivas and Karthik is the next best after 'Sonnalum' in the melodious mood rendered by Unnikrishnan and Harini. SP Balasubramanian with his evergreen voice also comes back after some time with a melodramatic 'Enthan Vaanin'.
Kadhal Virus is the most expected movie with Kathir’s direction. His previous movies have been trendsetters like Idhayam[Heart], Kadhal Desam[World of Love] and Kadhalar Dinam[Valentines Day]. However it is a feast for A R Rahman lovers.

Now, Rahman is in tune with a love virus!
TIMES NEWS NETWORK [ TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2002 12:06:52 AM ]
The man has always made his intentions clear. AR Rahman is here to entertain and make people move with his music. And, as he has evolved over the past decade, so has his formula for scoring hit filmi music.
Be it Rukmani Rukmani, Humma Humma, Muqabala Muqabala, Shakalaka Baby or the more recent Ye Ye Enna Aachu from Kaadhal Virus (love virus), what holds a Rahman album together is the item number which, more often than not, skyrockets to the top of the charts. ''In today's time, I feel that people have come to expect such numbers in my film music,'' says Rahman, ''But it all started with Gentleman, the directorial debut of Shankar and a film which was subsequently remade in Hindi. Earlier, I was apprehensive about creating such numbers but Gentleman demanded an item number. Of course, now I have got used to item numbers. I don't see them as being a compromise and enjoy creating them. After all, at the end of the day, it is item numbers which provide the impetus to an album.''
Interestingly, when one points out that most of Rahman's hit item numbers have been made for south Indian films, he sports a smile. ''Directors down south are are more demanding. Atleast, this is what I feel,'' he offers.
But with music known to flow from south to north, Rahman's Saathiya is currently the hot thing in north India. With the original, made in Tamil by Mani Ratnam, being released a couple of years back, Saathiya marks a 'been there done that' feeling for Rahman. Nonetheless, he is ''keen to know how the music of Saathiya is doing.''
But even as north India tunes in to Saathiya, people down south are grooving to the beats of Kaadhal Virus, one of the few projects Rahman decided to do while he was busy with Bombay Dreams. The number from Kaadhal Virus which currently tops the charts is Ye Ye Enna Aachu, which has been sung by Vasundhara Das and can be seen on music channels in north India.
The mandatory item number, by the look of things, is doing the job. But then, AR Rahman has always been in tune with the times.

Music Lover,
2 things:
1. CAPS OFF
2. You dont seem to understand the definition of a good music director. I can churn out 5 songs for a movie @ Rs. 2.00 per song and can make the producer earn profit. Am i a good music director.
Music director just stops with delivering what is needed. Financials is upto the sensible people who buy them at the rate that they can make profit. Period.
