Dear All,
I am very happy to read all your comments and suggestions. WN needs to be thanked very much for the effort she took to bring in us for this bunker operation. Yes, we did it as a bunker and those who contributed did a great job. I really enjoyed the week working with these people from this forum and ARRYG.
On behalf of our constellation, I request all who are interested to kindly do a writeup or article on any film music album or subject of ARR and send to us. We might have missed some of the great albums in the article but, it was not at all intentional.
There are more article on specific subjects that will be published in the future. We welcome contributions in the form of write-ups and articles from one and everybody. Also, we are open here to have a discussion and suggestion on every thing that we publish there.
Thank you.

Great work guys .. excellent!!
I wish to point out a few things ..
It is mentioned that Mani Ratnam wanted to release Roja in Digital Dolby but didnot due to which 1942- A Love story became the first movie. It was not Digital Dolby but Dolby Surround (Spectral Recording) they were looking at.
ARR has done the first Dilby Digital movie in indian history with Daud. Also the first hindi movie with DTS was "Hindustani" (Indian dubbed).
I guess you missed out on few hindi albums of his like Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, Kabhie na Kabhie & Nayak(hey! it had few original songs too) and also on his telugu albums.
Keep the good work going. Both ARR and his fans. I know his fams like me are facing a tough time with people ridiculing him after the failures ( by his very high standards he has set) of PP. KM & Alli Arjuna(Oh! You understandably bunked that too!!!.)
Waiting eagerly for KV, Boyz, New & 18-20.

Narayana Venkatsubramaniam,
Thanx for your observation. I didnt know these details. Very kind of you to let me know.
However i think PP was a very good album. One of ARR'sbest. "Athisaya Thirumanam" is a masterpiece. Infact the song placing/picturization and the general feel looks so similar to "sakthi kodu" in baba.

i too think that Parthale paravsam had excellent songs ....Ar Rehman is the only depndable MD ..Others are not consistent ..But i feel that AR rehman lags behind when it comes to BGM ..His BGMs are good for some movies ...but not always good

UV: i think it's called himalayan dreams. i think venky released one album (around '97) with some songs by rAjAG and another album a few years later (which i dont think have any songs by rAjAG). of course, he is the right man to give the correct information. all proceeds (or profits?, i dont remember) from himalayan dreams goes to ASHA. so i would encourage people to buy this album.

Unmai: Thanks.
Here is the statistics of ARR yearwise song composing.
Year # of movies
1992 1
1993 6
1994 8
1995 5
1996 5
1997 5
1998 2
1999 9
2000 4
2001 3
2002 2(so far)
There are two waves when movie producers flocked to ARR one in 1994 probably because of Roja mesmerisation and in 1999. Now it is vaning. Compared to this IR in the period of 1980s has composed about 50 movies in a year. I think in terms of productivity ARR can no way be compared to IR.

on: Wed Aug 21 20:42:24 EDT 2002
Yes Madhu.. ARR never dominated the Tamil field like IR did. IR was monopolizing tamil music industry. I am just curious how many movies were made after Roja in TN. In 1992 there were roughly 116 movies made. I collected from intamm.com. If you take 100 movies an year, i would say from 1992-2002 that is 11 years 1100 movies would have been made. Of which he has scored music for some 50 movies which gives you a statistics that he scores only 4.5% of the total movies made.
