  Four Tamil scholars — Nachimuthu Socrates, Father Gasper, Andi Giri and Manavai Mustafa — were recipients of FeTNA Annual Awards, presented in the main auditorium of the War Memorial on July 5 evening.
  
  Father Gasper Raja, a Catholic priest from Chennai, spoke on how Sri Lankan Tamils should be considered an integral part of the Tamil community. He said most of them were victims of the unsettled political situation in Sri Lanka, yet they have been a major force in spreading Tamil language and culture around the world.

  You are talking about helping blind children or other handicapped or people in need. Agreed that is a good thing and should be done. There you will be donating to address such physical and financial shortcomings of poor people.
  
  But what IR has taken up here is spreading harmony through music and content of Tiruvasakam project. This has very good intent too.(Please erase IR as a money maker in movie. This is altogether different and here IR just gives his sweat for achieving some spiritual end). Harmony if spread, will make humans broad minded, empathetic about fellow human's misery and in turn will increase charity across the world. Whatever you are thinking in mind, IR is trying to achieve and more than that through truth in the content of Tiruvasakam as well as his music.
  
  kumar, I am not telling you to donate(even I am yet to make one). But just don't understimate the cause behind it.

  To all kumars and anbesivams,
  Very interesting and thoughtful mails from everyone.
  We just want to say this.
  TG2RD is not connected with any specific date like the Nov. 27th or so. This is an attempt to raise the human consciousness and sense of harmony in all of us.Untill the last IIR fan/Tamil lover fulfills his/her obligation to make TiS happen by contributing what they can, everyday is TG2RD for that particular person. The sooner we do this, the better for World Peace.
  We take this opportunity to thank all those who have sent in their contributions and messages of good wishes for TiS.
  TOGETHER LET US MAKE TiS HAPPEN !!

  hmm..sounds little odd and profound..Is this a fund raiser for a good project or kind of a movement ? Some statements sound dangerously close to the latter. No offense but I am reminded here about "I want world peace" from Miss.congeniality :-)
  
  Though a step towards world peace is always welcome, I fail to recgonize how composing a symphony by raising money from fans and later using it to build a studio contributes to world peace. It helps to promote music which is undeniable. World peace ? huh.. May be you can put your ideas through, differently worded ?

  Dont get us wrong! we're not starting any movement here but only depicting the purpose behind TiS. As per the brochure and website information , "'selected verses from Thiruvasakam which are 'universal' in nature, for which notes will be written and symphony conducted"', the proposed symphony is aimed at bringing 'harmony' and raising the level of 'human consciousness' on the universality of music as the world uniting force, the above words were coined and not in any other sense. Hope this clarifies. We will be delighted to receive a donation check from you for TiS as reply!!

  Apart from contacting friends and aquaintance regarding TIS.Now we have decided to approach organizations.So we are looking forward for volunteers to contact the local tamil sangam's or tamil/indian groups in universities and other tamil organization.you could act as the local contact for those organizations.Or otherwise you can initiate the contact and forward the contact details to Mr.shankar kumar.Your help would go a long way in realizing TIS.So if you know any contacts in ur local tamil groups/organizations please let us know.If not please try to get some contacts and help the project.

  Nice to read Srdhar's mail. If similar Tamil associations in USA are interested in knowing more about TiS[Thiruvasakam in Symphony, please let us know [if we could come to one of your major celebrations to explain in detail of TiS]. If Raaja fans want to co-ordinate this effort in their cities, please feel free to contact one of us. We can send you the relevent materials.
